Directv in Edmond, Oklahoma - The company is dropping channels but I still have to pay same rate.

I am writing about the channels that have been dropped from Direct Tv. If we are losing 26 channels then the rate we pay for the service should be reduced. I still have over a year on my contract and it is not fair for me to pay for channels that i no longer receive. If this is not resolved or my rate changed when my contract is over I will drop Direct Tv. I dont have any names of people involved all I know is that the company who has all the channels needs to settle with Direct tv.

You are going to a "satellite dish" you already have a satellite dish.....what do you think that thing is outside your house is that picks up your signal ..a fancy plate? Hello kitty....what 26 channels are you talking about...the last big one was viacom and that dispute has been over for a month or more

I, too, am still paying even though I have dropped channels. In fact, they have gone UP on the bill.

They always blame FOX or whomever they are having a dispute with and I am sick of it.

I believe I am going to a satalite dish and stop all this nonsense. I hate directv.

Directv in Doylestown, Pennsylvania - Losing channels and no compensation is being offered !

Direct tv dropped channels and no compensation is being offered and I have read that it can be weeks before this issue is resolved ! So in other words Im paying my bill but am receiving less channels ! If I dont pay my bill you turn off my service,so now the roles are reverse and NOTHING is being offered in return where is that right? The other complaint is when I call to make payment arrangements you are treated like a criminal or a thief like you are asking for something for free ! im on a fixed budget I get paid once a month and never on the same date !

Directv in Hialeah, Florida - Lies about they service

I sign a direct TV contract by 2 years but the service in my location is not good and I call back to cancel 3 days after they do the installation and the company charged to me the contract for 2 years. they don't tell me that I have only 24 hours for cancel, and the agreement papers they don't said nothing about the time to cancel. In 2 days the service is horrible. I call the company and they only said they can send a technician to see the problems but any way they charge for 2 years this is ridicule pay for bad services and lie to me about the contract. When I call again and I talk with the supervise she said that the agreement That I have was made by a delivery contractor and that is the reason that I need to pay 2 years contract , but the service is from Direct TV and they company give to the costumer 15 days for cancel the services> My question is why they give me to only 24 hours and another costumer 15 days .They LIE and STEAL MY MONEY.

Directv in Mandeville, Louisiana - Direct TV

Thanks to all the Pissed Posts about Direct TV, I use to be with this provider until after the the prices went up a few years back I changed to Cable at a better price, and No Service Interruptions due to weather patterns. We was thinking of going back because of price hikes, but after all this I suppose I will stay with Cable until all these issues get worked out, sad only because Cable Bundle is a big rip in itself, and Cable wants you to pay your bill a month in advance, which in itself a rip, why pay for something that you have not yet had the opprotunity to enjoy.

I know a lot of people are angry. I am one as well.

We pay $120 the most watched channels are gone. As I said before my summer plans have been canned because my son broke his growing plate. He is not allowed to move. So he likes to watch Nick and tion Nick.

He should be able to watch anything he wants to while he is in the kind of pain he is in. Seeing his sisters playing outside upsets him more. I have to sooth him.

It does not help when he Keeps asking to watch his favorite shows. All I can tell him is his favorite stations are gone.

Directv in Rapid City, South Dakota - Really?

It just goes to show how people aren't actually looking into whats going on with Directv and Viacom...You have every right to be pissed off right now, but Directv always gets their channels back. My point is though everyone is going on about losing 26 channels when its only 17 viacom just counted the hd versions as well so before you go complaining about have your facts straight again I am not saying you shouldn't be pissed! I hope Directv does give everyone a break on their bill for this you need to call in and ask for it though, unfortunately thats just how directv works.....

THIS IS JUST UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES MAKING THE CONSUMER PAY FOR THEIR DIFFERENCES> WHILE THEY NEGOTIATE WE GET THE UNAVAILABILITY OF CHANNELS THAT WE PAY FOR> WE DO NOT WANT ANY OTHER CHANNELS IN REPLACEMENTS

Directv in Washington, District Of Columbia - Angry customer

There's no point in having Direct Tv if we are not getting the channels we are paying for! We should be getting credit for th BS. They said temporarily but more than 1 day is too much already. They took some of the best channels. They to explain to my 3 yr old why she cant watch Nick Jr! they need to resolve this fast before they lose their customers. Dish is cheaper and starting to look like a my h better offer at the moment. We should at least get premium channels for compensation in the mean time. Or better yet GET OUR *** CHANNELS BACK!

I'm not mad at DirectTV. I'm mad at Viacom, the owner of the channels that were taken off air. DirectTV was trying to protect its customers from an increase in the monthly bill because Viacom is a greedy and money hungry company and felt like they needed to increase the cost of their programs.

Directv in Madison, Wisconsin - STAY AWAY FROM DIRECT TV NOTHING BUT HEADACHES AND OVERCHARGESCustomer with Direct TV since 2000

STAY AWAY FROM DIRECT TV NOTHING BUT HEADACHES AND OVERCHARGES STAY AWAY FROM DIRECT TV NOTHING BUT HEADACHES AND OVERCHARGES I have been a customer with Direct TV since 2000. It was under my x husbands name but I was on the account. In 2010 we divorced and I kept the house with the direct TV. I moved in 2011 and took Direct TV with me no problems. I wanted it changed into my name I had to call 3 different #'s and still didn't get it changed. In Jan/february 2012 I put the account on hold making sure I would have no problem when we built to get it reinstated they said no-problems. Well, I called today to reinstate it at my new place and was told policy changed and was told I wasn't on the account. Then they called my x husband he said I could be on the account and still they would not move it. They said I could open up my own account but needed a $400.00 deposit We are going with Dish Network STAY AWAY FROM DIRECT TV NOTHING BUT HEADACHES AND OVERCHARGES

Directv in Washington, District Of Columbia - Bad Direct TV

I signed a 2 yr contract to get the channels I am no longer getting. How about letting us out of our contracts if you are not going to keep the channels you were promoting? I'm sick & tired of being tied to contracts with satellite providers who continue to offer less & raise prices. When the consumer breaks a contract, it cost us. Why should Direct TV be allowed to get away with this? Just plain corporate greed on both Dirct TV & Viacom and we, the consumers, are the ones paying the price. We either pay the same for less or more to get what we orginally signed up for.

It is a breach of contract because we signed the contract we agreed to what channels were being provided at the price given...how can they charge for a service they are not providing any longer....we should be able to get out of it.

On 7/11/12, DirecTV reduced our service with them by approximately 25 channels. I consider this to be a breach of contract by DirecTV, so I decided to cancel my service with them.

I called to cancel on 7/11/12, and they informed me that I would have to pay $220 ($20.00 per month for the remaining 11 months of contract) to cancel. The service representative also stated that I will have to continue to pay for those channels, even though they are no longer available to me.

So it looks like technically if they want to DirecTV can just reduce me to 1 channel and I would still be under contract and have to pay. I love how we pay a set amount (116.00 in my case) and get locked into a 2yr contract for a product that may or may not be available to me.
