Directv in Jacksonville, Florida - Direct TV is worst. Don't do it unless you like getting screwed

Direct TV is the worst, their billing with At&T is just a huge circle ***. Neither company knows whats going on and blame each other for being jacked up. Don't use them unless you like getting the total run around and like being over cherged, only to find yourself unable to get a customer service rep that know their butt from *** in the ground. This company should be shut down for fraud as they double charge and cancel your sevice even though you still have several days to pay the bill and then they say it's your problem.

I HATE direct tv. They have the sorries customer service reps I have ever spoken with.

I get my disability check on the 3rd of each month and I have told these idiots the bill will be paid then. I just woke up with no service. This is the 2nd time in a month they have turned off my service AFTER receiving a payment for $70.00. My bill is suppose to be less than $30.00 a month.

Their reasoning for my bill to be $70.00 is the promotion ended, I don't have a refer a friend (that ended also). I would NOT refer my worst enemy...the company SUCKS!! Mike White said on Undercover Boss he was going to get the company straigth.

If he did, he done a sorry job.. ok going to call dish and see what they have to offer.

Directv in Farmington, Michigan - Direct Tv-get them out of your bank account

I was overcharged by direct tv, but I accidently found a way to get them out of my account and now I don't have to worry about them taking hundreds of dollars out of my account and causeing overdraft fees. If you have given them your debit card number, call your bank and report a lost card. You might have to go without a card for a few days, but in the end, it could save you hundreds of dollars. When you get the new number, direct tv will call you because they will not be able to use the old number to get their money. Do NOT give them the number. Tell them to bill you. I pay my bill at walmart. It is worth the $0.89 to make sure that they don't even get close to the routing number and account number on my checks.

They had my debit card number from the beginning of service. Luckily I gave them that info instead of my routing number and account number.

When I realized that they could no longer get into my account when my debit card number changed, I started using walmart to pay my bill so they couldn't get the info from my bank. I had a friend that had the same problem with ADT. They told her that she could be billed, but she would have to give a credit card number first. They double charged her $250 dollars on her card and she is still fighting to get her money back, but I told her what to do with the card so they can't steal any more money from her.

It is horrible what these companies are getting away with when they can get into your accounts. I sometimes think the banks are in on it too, so when the companies pull out extra money and overdraw your account, the banks can then charge extra fees.

Znorris,

My advice to you is to drop the "bundle" discount, it is a huge hassle for customers like yourself. You are actually not saving much money by bundling and it can be a pain in the *** later on.

Customer service reps, can't really say these things over the phone because Directv wants to keep good standing with these other companies but most reps feel this way. Basically, look at the bill separately, ask Directv the cost of your monthly bill and then your other provider the cost of their charges, and then you will see where the price is high. Again I highly recommend unbundling because this can cause major problems if your service is ever disconnected for non pay which sometimes happens even when you do pay. Whoever your other provider is has the authority to shut your directive off, and to turn it back on is sometimes a whole weekend or a couple hour process depending.

Really, unbundle. It is more of a hassle than a deal. I promise you that.

I hope that helps. It is something I highly recommend though.

Donald78,

I'm sorry that sounds like some poor misinformation. If they sent you a new receiver to replace a recently replaced receiver then you should be under you 90 day coverage warranty that waves the cost of the delivery and handling the $22 that you were charged.

Double check that. As far as the ppvs, that will be a huge hassle for you to get rid of because the access cards have all of that information stored on them and any unpaid charges stay there until the old box is turned in.

Now if you *** enough, and i you talk to enough people more than likely someone will be having a bad day and just waive your charges but you have to be quite persistent because they are not supposed to. As far as the high bill was this the non return fee for not shipping back the old receiver, the ppvs charges, or both?

Direct TV is a Liar about Pricing

QuennHuff,

*** happens, what can I say. The boxes were most likely not returned in good time so they were scanned in late, as the lady said takes 72 hours to reverse the charges on the bill, and you better look into getting a return via your card.

Make sure a request was sent through via there financial department or you may just likely be sent a check with the return which does take a while. I agree about the outsourcing, but if every company did that prices would go up and there would plenty of jobs that some americans would be to picky or lazy to take, call centers not obviously being one of them. And you could have ask the girl to speak to someone in american, however rude that sounds, people do that to them all the time.

But who says the American you speak to won't have a strong accent, so I guess you just gotta suck it up. (:

Directv in Washington, District Of Columbia - Moving Reconnect

I called DirecTv to schedule an appointment to be reconnected after we move. We have been with them over 20 years. I was given an appointment to wait over 2 weeks. Their advertising saus 48 hrs. Anyway, on our scheduled appointment day my wife *** work to be there, as per their requirements. The scheduled time was anywhere from 8-12 am ....helluva window right? Shortly after 11 am, my wife received a phone call saying that we had been 'bumped ' ....and needed to reschedule .. When calling DirecTv they accused us of 'unscheduleing' .... I assure you.... we only have had radios for 2 weeks & my wife *** work ..... we didn't 'unschedule'... After 20 plus yrs. You would think a company would take better care & provide better service to a loyal customer .... Heck no ....what's to say they won't 'unschedule' us again? There have been other issues ...but this was enuff. I pity anyone using DirecTv....good riddance here..

Directv in Albuquerque, New Mexico - DIRECT TV SUCKS AND THEY KNOW THEY DO

I have a close family member that works for direct tv and this person has told me that dtv does not care what we "the customer" thinks or wants, the numbers are on there side. Not enough of us can come together to make a real difference where they are concerned. What the public does not know,is that in the fine print in your contract it states " they, DTV can change your service at any time" and some inside info is they are loosing some good channels, like tlc, history, discovery etc. And you cant quit just because they cant provide what you paid for. The customer is set to take it in the shorts hard and they "DTV" know it and do not care.

I agree with Mike everyone is "crooks" ie all companies are the same way. And yes in the agreement it does say that they can change you services at any time and it is not in fine print.

Go ahead and print the customer agreement and you will see it is in the same print as the rest. And as far as losing those channels, your friend is a liar. It's called contract negotiations. It happens to all companies, and this time with Directv it is a big one.

But you are an *** if you think that a major tv provider is going to be rid of some of the most popular channels, for good. Contract negotiations are tricky and they do suck. And the people that provide those channels will put nasty banners across the screen and tell you to switch but of course they will come to an agreement if they still want to make money. Directv has 16 million customers and climbing, they will not lose out on all that profit.

Its just a contract negotiation.

Chill the *** out. It happens to EVERYONE.

I have called customer service twice to get prices (they currently are advertising deals cheaper than Dish which I currently have). I cannot understand the people I'm speaking to, nor can they understand me, I have a simple name, John Smith, and I had to repeat my name twice and spell it!

It was VERY noisy in the background with people talking and laughing, I told the person perhaps you could hear me and I could hear you if the people in the background would be tone it down a bit. Needless to say that never happened and she continued to repeat questions I already answered. I became frustrated and told her "FORGET IT, I'M NOT INTERESTED, if I'm having this kind of issue wanting to became a new Direct TV customer, you would think I'd get excellent customer service with my first call to you"!

I'm going to stay with Dish Network, who needs these kind of issues simply requesting to sign on with Direct TV. VERY unprofessional!

Directv in Greensboro, North Carolina - Direct TV is a Liar about Pricing

They tell you one price but when you get your bill it is a different story. We all need to do something about them and there services. They also lie about all the movie channels you get as well I hate them. The DVR somtimes will not play the movies you recorded at times. I would like to know if there is any way to get them to refund our money for the false advertisement of the all the movies they say they offer. They also want to charge you a fee for cancelling your service and they are just as pricey as time warner cable TV.

DirectTV has complaints about their devious behaviour going back for years and years and no one has done anything yet,Attorney Generals do file a few class action law suits once in a while and DirectTV has to pay millions but the customers never see a penny and DTV promises to do better but they continue to do the same old thing. Our elected officials continue to turn a blind eye and do nothing.a lot of the banks and credit card companies get kick-backs from DTV.the BBB and the FTC get so many complaints that they do not even bother answering and when I see DirectTV selling their services to customers in Best Buy,Walmart and Sams Club,I get sick to my stomach because I know these people are getting ripped off.they only thing I know is to tell everyone you know not to get DirectTV.
