DirecTV lied about contracts and procedures for cable service
DirecTV customer reps told me I needed to cancel my existing account to be eligible for the promotional price for another type of package. When I did as was told, I am then told by the manager that I am not eligible because I had an account within the previous 2yrs. By the way, I had my service installed in the morning of a Friday, and disconnected it in the afternoon on the same day because of what the customer reps told me. They also told me I would get a $5 discount per month by calling Verizon to bundle my bill into one. EVERYTHING THEY TOLD ME WAS A LIE~!! Did I mention their advertised 80+ channels or 240+ channels are mostly MUSIC CHANNELS, not actual channels you can view. And the basic package DOES NOT include your local channels. The 10 viewable channels you get are primarily shopping channels. DirecTV IS VERY DECEPTIVE, and tricky. BEWARE.
Terminated service in 2000 for constant outages and lousy customer service. They begged me to come back after over a year of harrassing me for 1 unpaid month due to their rudeness. In 2010 after receiving another song & dance how the company had grown and changed, I tried them again. Screwed worse this time after less than good service for 2 years, they overcharged me 4 months in a row. I finally thought it was fixed and the shut off my service with no warning, no reason. This is a bad company. They get too big and too arrogant to properly treat people. They are rude and unprofessional.

Direct TV is the worst, their billing with At&T is just a huge circle ***. Neither company knows whats going on and blame each other for being jacked up. Don't use them unless you like getting the total run around and like being over cherged, only to find yourself unable to get a customer service rep that know their butt from *** in the ground. This company should be shut down for fraud as they double charge and cancel your sevice even though you still have several days to pay the bill and then they say it's your problem.

I was overcharged by direct tv, but I accidently found a way to get them out of my account and now I don't have to worry about them taking hundreds of dollars out of my account and causeing overdraft fees. If you have given them your debit card number, call your bank and report a lost card. You might have to go without a card for a few days, but in the end, it could save you hundreds of dollars. When you get the new number, direct tv will call you because they will not be able to use the old number to get their money. Do NOT give them the number. Tell them to bill you. I pay my bill at walmart. It is worth the $0.89 to make sure that they don't even get close to the routing number and account number on my checks.

I was told my charges for Direct TV Bundled Services would be around $95.00 for the first year instead I have paid $156.00 $136.00 each billing cycle one was $256.00 and this is in four months. I have stayed on the phone for hours and been told it was fixed but the bills keep coming in $156.00 this month. What do you do to fix things like this? My husband is disabled and this is his only entertainment but do they care NO the bills keep coming and I have stayed on the phone until I could drop. Someone tell me how to get HELP.

My acct was canceled because where I moved could not pick up service. With a credit already on my acct these mofo's charged my $ 250.25 for non return boxes! Mind you they have the boxes! So I call and I can't understand who I am talking to. I ask thrm where are the located and the say Phillipines.Then they tell me it takes 72 hours just to process the money to be disbursed which takes 5 days. These ppl left $9 in my acct and refuse to expidite having my money put back. I'm so angry on this Sunday morning and I want the proper ppl to complain to.

I called DirecTv to schedule an appointment to be reconnected after we move. We have been with them over 20 years. I was given an appointment to wait over 2 weeks. Their advertising saus 48 hrs. Anyway, on our scheduled appointment day my wife *** work to be there, as per their requirements. The scheduled time was anywhere from 8-12 am ....helluva window right? Shortly after 11 am, my wife received a phone call saying that we had been 'bumped ' ....and needed to reschedule .. When calling DirecTv they accused us of 'unscheduleing' .... I assure you.... we only have had radios for 2 weeks & my wife *** work ..... we didn't 'unschedule'... After 20 plus yrs. You would think a company would take better care & provide better service to a loyal customer .... Heck no ....what's to say they won't 'unschedule' us again? There have been other issues ...but this was enuff. I pity anyone using DirecTv....good riddance here..

I have a close family member that works for direct tv and this person has told me that dtv does not care what we "the customer" thinks or wants, the numbers are on there side. Not enough of us can come together to make a real difference where they are concerned. What the public does not know,is that in the fine print in your contract it states " they, DTV can change your service at any time" and some inside info is they are loosing some good channels, like tlc, history, discovery etc. And you cant quit just because they cant provide what you paid for. The customer is set to take it in the shorts hard and they "DTV" know it and do not care.
