Directv in Monroe Township, New Jersey - Direct TV won't suspend our service after a house fire w/out paying AGAIN!

We had a house fire in April, 2012 we called on May 19th to suspend service until we could go back home, they said bring balance back to zero and they will suspend. May 24th bill was payed, called today and they say an authorized user did not call to suspend. No one told me I had to they said they would note it. Now they say we have to pay agaIN! We have to pay for a month of service that we are not even there to receive. She talked to a supervisor and still says nothing they can do--straight bs!!! She must bring the account back to zero in order to suspend service!!!

Directv in Boise, Idaho - Sean Manger in Cancelation Dept

I have been with Direct TV since July 2000 - I moved 2 months ago 4-21-12 they installed my equipment which I upgraded 1 DVR - they finally sent me the box to return 1 receiver on 6-13-12 which I mailed back, In this 2 month period I have had to call them 9 times regarding problems with the equipment - they sent a Tech out 1 time the rest was a min. 25 min. call to try to resolve issues which never worked and they were aware of this before hanging up. I did receive a call from a quality specialist stating he was in the area and wanted to check everything to see what was going on with the boxes, when I returned his call when getting off work at 4pm he said sorry he was already done with his route. I called Direct TV today and told them to come and get all of their equipment out of the house they gave me the cancellation dept manager which told me I would have to pay #400.00 on top of my bill of $125.00 I was so mad I requested his manager he stated their was no one higher than him then after I blew up he stated he would get me his manager Daniel never got transferred because he told me they had problems with their phones and I would receive a call within 24 hrs not expectable, also he actually coughed in my ear which was as rude as it can get. I want to have nothing to do with Direct TV now or in the future. I am not paying anything more than my bill to this date 6-21-12. Can you please help me out on this issue?

DTV will put the charges on the account they have on file for you.You will need to mail back their equipment,call DTV for a fedex label and don't forgeet to get a tracking # from fedex. DirectTV does not pick up equipment or remove dishes.

Directv endless contract bad customer service

I have had directv for approximately 25 months and decided to change service for price, quality of service, and better on demand access, of course they have to figure how to *** one last time. I upgraded a tv in my basement from standard to hd,in December 2010 from my original contract of May 2010. I paid a 100.00 fee for the HD receiver, additional monthly charges for HD service and they based on the small print, extended my service 24 months. So I go to cancel in June 2012 and low and behold they slam me for the cancellation fee. I argue they laugh, I dispute they say I changed my service and therfore they are right to charge the cancellation fee. They are crooks, *** and i will never ever use there services and will tell anyone contemplating using their services to think again. They suck.

Anytime you upgrade or make a change in service it turns back the clock on your contract.

Yes, it must be their customer service. After all the people on the phones determine that a new receiver comes with a new contract.

You are an *** if you didn't do more research before paying for something like that. How the *** else do they guarantee they will have customers? Not only does every single company do this to new customers but other companies have a contract that comes with a new piece of equipment leased or non leased.

You didn't do your research. Shame on you.

Directv in Denver, Colorado - DIRECTTV CUSTOMER SERVICE

45 minutes, 5 different agents to schedule a service call. Impossible to do. They want you to troubleshoot at home. $50 buck for service call. Tried to sell a protection plan to avoid service call for 6 bucks/mo-then tried to schedule the service call-started at the beginning with over the phone troubleshooting. If you can't comply with their requirement to look at the cable there is still a $50 charge. Bait and switch. Disregards American Disabilities Act for visually impaired customers. Worst experience ever. Agents very rude. I am definitely look for different company with better customer service.

Directv in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Paying for known pproblem with direct tv

when we record a show using Direct tv we cannot watch the whole show, sometimes it goes to a blank screen on it's own and other times this happens when we are fast forwarding thru the commercials. My husband had called Direct Tv several times only to be told that this is a know problem and their engineering people are working on it when they have a solution they will do a software upgrade during the night. This has been going on now for at least 8 weeks which of course we are paying every month for this service. We have requested a new DVR and been told that they cannot replace them

Directv in Tampa, Florida - Direct TV changed my programming;baited and switched!!

Five months into a 2 year contract Direct TV changed my local tv stations,without warning! The access to these particular stations was the principal reason I chose to subscribe to Direct TV. Direct tv has informed me that they can change the channels within my subscription any time they like!! This seems like a bait and switch scheme to me! Also, if I want out of this contract(for obvious reasons) it could cost me as much as six hundred dollars. Pretty sweet deal for Direct TV;not so sweet for the consumer.I called Direct TV and they offered no help.

Numerous Problems After Signup with DirecTV

We wanted to switch from Time Warner to DirecTV to save money on a bundle plan. A DirecTV rep said DirecTV partners with Frontier Communications in our area to provide phone and internet portion of the bundle plan. PROBLEM #1 -- DirecTV rep said that unlimited calling to Canada was included with the phone service in the bundle package, but after signing up we learned this is not true. Big issue as we have family in Canada. PROBLEM #2 -- DirecTV rep said multiple times during signup process that we could keep our existing phone #. But Frontier installed/switched our phone and internet service today, and we discovered afterwards that our phone number is now different. The guy from Frontier never said anything about a new phone number. We immediately called Frontier and not only did they say there's no guarantee we'll get our phone # back, they said they don't even partner with DirecTV! We then called DirecTV and after an hour on the phone with multiple reps and supervisor, they now say they don't partner with Frontier and the phone # issue is our problem to deal with through Frontier. DirecTV is taking ZERO responsibility for leading us into this mess. To top it all off, we have also been experiencing consistent technical issues with the DirecTV receiver box freezing up in our living room and have had to call and set up another appointment for a service man to come to our house. More time wasted in addition to all of the time on the phone calling Frontier and DirecTV. In the end, despite all of the above issues and all of our time wasted, the supervisor at DirecTV offered us a $5/month discount for three months ($15 total!) for this huge inconvenience. We're left with numerous problems and losing our phone # will create many more. A WORD OF ADVICE --- DO NOT EVER SIGN UP WITH DIRECTV. The grass is not greener.

Do not ever sign up with DIRECTV Plans from $24.99/ mo (1yr)

They screw the peaple and put you on hook for 2 years with their big conselation fee.

directv billing department is bogus, they charge you up the *** if you are late on paying your bill and then when you pay it they say you did not pay it and charge you up the *** even more. There cable sucks because once it starts raining you can't watch tv anymore because of the rain. just over all a *** business and i am switching to time warner cable were cable is better and more reasonable for payment. when calling the customer service they don't even speak english let alone help you with your problem they go at it as your the customer and you are wrong, they are right. there computers suck

I agree with you,I Hate DTV too!I hate how they cheat and steal from customers over and over again and they have been doing this for years and years and getting away with it.It is very heartbreaking to read that they have wiped out the bank account of a senior citizen or of someone that is poor with kids It should not be this way,our lawmakers should put these crooks out of business once and for all!

I love there tv service i just hate how they are always lying about how much i am going to be paying i think they even stole one month payment and i say i think because im still trying to get that fixed. right now i am trying to get a hold of someone to see wat is going on with my service or how much i owe to pay them but there recored voice wont let me til i pay in full. hhhmmmm..... lets think about that for just one second.... first i need a balance because they never send me a bill. second i need to a live breathing person i hate those recordings:-*
