Directv in Palatine, Illinois - PROMOTING TERRORISM, ETC.

I have never subscribed to Direct TV nor shall I ever considering the avenue your organization is taking to promote business! It's bad enough televising young teen girls who quit school, hook up with the wrong group & then show up pregnant at her parent's door! Now you promote terrorism by televising a guy who gets convicted of a crime & is sent to jail all because the lawyer and/or judge was crabby because of some baloney about not having Direct TV! As if thats not bad enough the commercial goes on to explain that the best way to get back at the authorities that sent him to prison is to spend all of your time in prison on how best to exact revenge on these people...namely to blow up the lawyer's/judge's home the first day you get out of prison! Probably along with his family as well! I know you people realize that our children see these outrageous commercials and all you are doing is promoting violence, terrorism & bullying! HOW DARE YOU!!! I will be filing a complaint not only with the BBB but with the FCC as well. We need to put an end to your foolhardy antics and hopefully to your organization as well. Hopefully we'll be seeing you in court!

I agree with you I think the commercials are horrible!It would not make me want to get DTV but does just the opposite.I for one hate to read what DTV does to their customers,how they lie and steal and cheat customers that are elderly and handicapped..no campassion at all! I don't know why our lawmakers lets this trash continue and not hold them accountable for what they do and put them out of business!

Usually By signing off on the work order,you are also signing the 2 year contract which is on the back in very fine print.DTV has been pulling this scam on people since they have been in business and getting away with it but it get worse,this happens when your bill is never correct and every month you have to spend lots of time on the phone trying to get it straightened out only to happen again next month,If you decide to cancel service because you have had enough,DTV will automatically deduct a huge charge for early cancellation fees and nonreturned equipment fees from what ever account they have on file for you. Don't ever believe a word DTV tells you,they lie.Do make sure they do not have your bank or cc #'s.get a prepaid card for their files. If sending back equipment,do get a tracking # to prove they get it.

This is the worst company ever they keep changing my package without permission and want me to pay 400 for dvr plus monthly charges but offer it to new and current customers who are moving customers for free and I'd course I can't cancel to go with a better company because the early termination fee is so high I would never recommend direct tv to anyone and advise you not to use this company they are scandals and will rip u off in any way they can I will be canceling mine no matter what the fee screw them

If they don't have your account #,they cannot charge you.change or close the account they have on file for you,they will send it to collections but this will give you some time to figure out what to do.You can ask to settle this matter through arbitration if you believe you have a good case.

every month direct tv changes our programing , cutting back on what we have been watching , and either raising the cost , this will be 3 or 4 times they have done this , service at first was out for about 1 month , so they for all the inconvinces free hbo and cinmax ... ok and then about a 9 monthes not even that really if you count the time it was OUT of service we get a bill double what we have been paying , so we cut that back after a few calls and now again to get it right was 3 CALLS ,,, why it was supposed tobe 47 , a month not that now 65 , I think now oh we forgot to do something , oh yeah a charge to cut services back , WHAT .... now when get ready to pay the bill more channels have been cut , I have found out they won't even talk to you unless you owe them a bill , the reason this one is being held up by the way ,,, one of the people I talk to said you have to redo your bill with them all the time .... when my time is up I will leave unless this is taken care of . also the 10. a month credit for signing a neighbor is BS we never got .... you sink Direct tv .... so start your track covering BS ....

I am very grateful that I am not a customer of DTV nor will I ever be again! When I had DTV, My bill was never correct,I had to spend at least 2 days per month on the phone with them only to have the same thing happen the next month.My service was lost if it rained or the wind blew and sometimes for no reason at all it would just go out.I had to pay someone to remove thier eyesore of a dish from my roof as they refused.

I am not sure this review is very accurate. I kept getting more channels from my changes ..

not less. And the bill is the same (for now).

I lost TV once (during a hurricane), so no complaints there.

I had Direct TV and that was also my problem and the fact that every time there was bad weather we would lose signal and this would go on for hours if not days and they would tell us all kinds of stories and Oh the apologys, I got so sick of them I switched to optimum and even though there prices are a little high I never have a problem with them.

My husband and I had Direct tv installed, after moving to Arkansas, from Louisiana. This new Direct tv Service was threating our Safety, because on the First installation, other Service calls and throughout paying for these t.v. services , The Installation was never GROUNDED, I am asking for a full refund from this Direct T.V. , for Safety, and Code Reasons. We were put in a very hazardous, and completely unaware condition. Thank GOD for our safety. We have cancelled Direct t.v. When you try to fix regular problems, and can't, it is tremendously difficult to have a Service Person to be out and help fix the problem. Sometimes, you will be out of service for more than, 5 days, we did pay for Technician Service Calls. in our Billing. I am asking for a full refund, because of the terrible lack of Basic Safety, Technical attention, that posed a deadly threat to our family. You will probably not get a refund what you most likely will get is a big charge, early cancellation fee from DTV. Make sure DTV has no bank or credit card info on file for you before you cancel service.Also be sure to get a tracking # before returning equipment to them.

Directv in Austin, Texas - Direct TV - Don't do it!

One of the worst buying decisions I have ever made. Entire experience has been a disaster. Took 3 installers to get it right. Customer service couldn't figure out the problem was a standard receiver on an HD TV. Charged us $300 to upgrade receivers that their retailer ordered incorrectly. Couldn't cancel even though we weren't up and running correctly - cancellation period is 24 hours!!! How is that for confidence in your service?? Were told that there was no longer an issue with getting the signal in a storm. but we have lost service in both the thunderstorms. We have been lied to ON NUMEROUS occasions and hung up on!!

I too was a customer of DTV for 5 months of pure ***!Lost service everytime it rained or even if the wind blew very hard.DirectTV tries their best to scam the customer every way they can like charging for repairing their own equipment and any upgrade in equipment creates another 2 yrs on your contract. When calling customer service,plan on taking at least 2-3 hours. The best addvice for any new customer is to change or close the account DTV has on file for you and get a prepaid card and give them this # for their records because they demand to have a # on file,never sign up for auto bill pay.This will save you a great deal of problems later on if you decide to cancel service,they will not be able to automatically charge your account a big fee.

I am a happy DirecTV customer. I agree that some installers are not too good, but usually the next is great (did three times..

moved once and switch to HD Dish).

I suggest you calm down and call customer service and explain it - they have always done everything to make it right for me when I called - for the past decade.

Nothing has changed - I was offered the promotion as well - I switched back in July only to be charged double what I agreed to the within two months, so it's not only the loyal customers that have not received any good deals - they don't stand-by the new customers either. Unfortunately, I left my other provider after 20 years because of the same reason, they kept raising my payment while offering savings and costs to the new customers.

I have had nothing but trouble with AT&T and Direct TV - can't get anyone to listen or understand - been hung-up on three times because the people I called do not know what to say to me.

What a flippin nightmare. I am one letter away of filing complaints with the FCC and BBB.

Directv in Bellevue, Washington - Made me feel like a complete fool.

We owed a bill and they were unwilling to work with us on correcting the situation. They switched us from one representative to another. Apparently they were e-mailing one another because the next representative would know everything we spoke of with the previous representative. My wife and myself are in poor health and raising two grandchildren. We had our bank cards stolen and our bank did a reversal on all charges until they could determine the activities that were legitimate. I called Direct TV told them of the problem and told them their payment would be reversed but when the bank determined it was a legitimate payment they would do another reversal and the payment would be honored. They told me not to worry the situation was under control. My cable was discontinued the next day. I called and for over six hours I was given the run around. I was made to feel like a complete fool because I am elderly. I agreed to pay 70% of my bill and the remainder on the 23rd of May. They informed me that I would have to go to western union and pay cash for the total amount. Direct TV has added so many late fees, returned check fees(which I never had) until my bill is over $700.00 dollars. I am on social security and live on a fixed income. I feel like I have been swindled and now I have on one to help me. There is a lot more to this situation, but I am running out of space. Please contact me at 904-520-8139. Sorry to hear about your problems with DirectTV.Sounds as though they are trying to take advantage of you which is typical of DTV.Is there any way you can switch to cable? if so good, call cable and ask if they have a "buy back" program if they do, this will give you 3 months free service and even if they don't it's cheaper than DTV.When/If you decide to get rid of DTV First: make sure you change or close the bank account that DTV has on file for you.This will prevent DTV from automatically charging your account and when sending back their equipment,get tracking # to prove they get it.

P.S. The only way you can get out of paying this bill with DTV is to close or change account #'s(talk to you bank about this) Since you are on SS they cannot sue you but they can take the money from your account..Good Luck

They never told me there was a cancellation fee when i called to cancel my service, a month later i got a $350 bill. I called them to ask them about it and they basically said too bad you still have to pay it even though we didn't tell you about it. Also other charges while i was still a customer without them telling me, any special offers they have are very decietful. Had NFL sunday ticket for one season and they automatically keep putting it back every year. More expensive then they lead on. Never having them again!

If you cancelled before your 2 yr contract was up or if you upgraded or replaced any equipment during this time automatically renews your contract for another 2 yrs. This is just one of DTV's many scams they pull on customers. Remember: Tell everyone you know: Friends don't let friends get mixed up with DTV's scams.

Directv in Akron, Ohio - Direct TV Cancellation - then Bogus Charges

Contested our bill in the amount of $210.72 for PPV charges listed on statement dated 3/4/12. These charges were listed as "Current Charges for Service Period 3/3/12 – 4/2/12" with the dates of PPV movies ranging from 9/3 to 10/20. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR US TO OWE ANY PPV CHARGES!!!!! My husband and I are both in our 60's and do not even know HOW to order PPV movies---sports – yes (usually called to order), movies – no! My son used to order PPV movies thru this account but he moved out of our house around the beginning of 2010. We cancelled Direct TV since we were extremely tired of losing our TV service every time it rained or a storm passed through and the need for high-speed internet service. We sent back all of our equipment and even received a check from Direct TV for a "credit balance" on our account of $13.47 that was shown on a Direct TV statement dated 1/11/12. HOW CAN WE OWE $210.72 FOR MOVIES SUPPOSEDLY WATCHED IN SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER (DON'T KNOW WHAT YEAR!!!!) WHEN WE RECEIVED A STATEMENT FROM DIRECT TV IN JANUARY 2012 WITH A CREDIT BALANCE AND A CHECK FOR THAT BALANCE??????? Something is wrong with this picture!!!! We did have equipment trouble periodically, and I know receivers were replaced during the time we had Direct TV. Did someone even think of checking the equipment records for a discrepancy rather than turning this bill over to a collection agency???? We will NEVER recommend Direct TV to anyone!!!!! Your Customer Service and record keeping STINKS!!!
