Directv in Washington, District Of Columbia - Took my money

I paid my bill under wrong account 97.12 called to get it fixed they say it takes 10 business days still don't have my money. Called back they don't know wit I'm talking bout. Now the manger Anne says it will be another 10 business its been over a month it didn't take that long to take my money why so long getting it back (sopissedoff).the dyirectv is very unprofessional. Basically the same thing happened to me.I sent my payment in in form of money order and DTV said they did not get it and insisted I pay it again,I refused to pay again,I sent them proof of their receiving the money order,DTV said they did not get the registered letteror faxes I sent.They still insisted I had to pay this or they were going to cancel my service. I called my cc and was assured they would not accept a charge from DTV.Service was cancelled and there was a charge placed on my cc for over $900.I disputed the charges with the cc and I filed complaints with the BBB,Attorney General,&FTC against DTV and my cc.

BBB answered the charge against my cc and my money was returned to my cc.

I closed my cc

account.DTV did not fight it. I wish you luck in getting your money refunded or put on the correct account.

Directv in Hastings, Florida - Something has got to change!

So one day I realized that I like to watch PBS on Saturday nights. That is about it. So why am I paying between $70-80 a month for satellite which mandates a contract? I call to inform the Rep that as of my expiration date I will no longer need DirectTV service. I was informed that they would send me a box for my reciever. They did, it came early, in fact my service was turned off early and then charged an ealry cancellation fee! I called to say: You turned off my service on month early. The Rep aplogized and turned service back on. Just recieved final bill which is higher than all bills previously. I called again. The Rep stated oh, when we reactivated your service we gave you a larger plan! You could have just used the 29.95 a month plan for what you need. Oh and by the way, there will be another 10.00 cancellation fee for your Protection Plan once your service ends. What??!!! This is customer service? Enough. Direct TV will need to surrender to Internet TV now.

Directv in Albany, New York - Direct tv-took money without authorization

Their was a charge of 84.12 taken out of my checking account without my permission. I have been a customer with time warner cable all my life never had direct tv. Just get the runaround when trying to talk to a representative. I really want my money back without having to wait 10 days. I really want to know who's bill I paid, when I can't even afford to pay my own. Need some answers now so I can have the money put back into my account . How does something like this happen? When I asked the representative she acted like it was my fault , like I gave my account number to someone. She was so rude I hung up on her.

Get in touch with your bank and file fraud charges.This should get your money back.Someone may have used your account # fraudently or DTV may have made a mistake but either way you need to deal with your bank. Good Luck

Did you check your DirecTV billing statement if the $84.12 is posted on your account? In your checking account, what is the company name and address that made the debit?

Check with your bank regarding the company who made the debit on your checking account.

DirecTV is a scam

I switched from VerizonFios to Frontier, and after receiving notice from Frontier that their prices were going up, I took them up on an offer to use DirecTV as my tv provider (through Frontier). After a year long battle with billing discrepancies, balance always different by as much as 200 dollars, I finally cancelled Frontier, in turn thinking that I was also canceling DirecTV. Unbeknownst to me, DirecTV charged me a 220 dollar cancellation fee! I am filing a complaint with the Indiana Attorney General's office. DirecTV has already been punished by the Attorney Gen's office for similar offenses and I guess they feel as though they can continue to operate in a shady and criminal manner. After reading the comments on this site, I see that this is a standard way of operation for this crooked company.

If DTV charged your credit card,you can dispute the charges.also,you should file complaints with the FTC and BBB. This is a standard way of practice for DTV,this is how they make their money,A very shady business

Cancelling your Frontier service does not cancel your DirecTV account. Did you asked the Frontier CSR about it? What did the Frontier CSR told you about your DTV account?

Directv in Cleveland, Ohio - Direct TV is the WORST ever!!!

After a move, I was no longer to receive Direct TV at my new home. After several phone calls, I was able to cancel my service (they got my address wrong at least 4 times!!!). I received some boxes to mail my equipment back, and did so within a few days. About a month later, my bank account was debited $500! They told me they never got the equipment and could not refund the money, but that the tracking info showed the boxes were in transit. I was told to call back in a week in so after everything had time to process. I called back a couple weeks later, and the customer service rep said my boxes arrived and my account would be refunded in a few days...a month later and I'm still missing my $500. So I call again and the rep tries telling me they never received my boxes. After an hour on the phone, I get a hold of a supervisor who tells me they did receive my boxes and the refund would show up in 3 days...another month later and STILL NO $500!!!!! I have spent 2 hours on the phone with direct TV today. They have hung up on me 3 times today conveniently as soon as i get a supervisor on the phone. Turns out they cant refund me because the credit card on my account was expired, but they debited my account with an expired card. Is that even legal? So now, 2 months in and no money. They say they will send a check, but if they havent sent it in the last months, they probably wont send it. Any advice on what to do next...$500 is a lot of money stolen and I have no idea what to do next.

Get in touch with your credit card co and ask why they let DirectTV debit an expired card.I'd also file complaints with the BBB and Attorney General and FTC(this can be done online)against DTV and the credit card co. The BBB will be more apt to answer on the credit card complaint.

Directv in Carson City, Nevada - They over-charged me and I can't understand them on the phone

I'm over 90 years old and I switched to Direct TV a few weeks ago but couldn't understand what ANY one was trying to say to me. I was originally suppose to have direct TV at a cost of only $59.95 a month...and it turned into $74.95 a month or something close to a quote I couldn't hear them say on the telephone. I JUST RECEIVED A BILL for $93.21 and now I think the person who didn't speak very good English said that I was going to have to pay $79.95 a month for a service I originally thought was only going to be under $60.00 a month for the first year. I had a friend, who is emailing this for me, Janice Johnson, to try and figure out what has happened as calling you only costs me more money each time. i AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS SERVICE! Get in touch with the "Crimes against Seniors" and ask if they can help you. If DTV has your bank account #or credit card#,you need to get these changed or close the account,this will prevent DirectTV from automatically withdrawing money from your account in the future.

Do Not Expect DirectTV to help you,They will not. Wish You The Best.

Directv in Stone Mountain, Georgia - Remote control

I have been a customer of directv for over 20 years. I have the protection plan, with it your suppose to be able to get a remote control if yours stop working. After 20 years they should know that we know if its not working but no they wanted me to trouble shoot the remote control. I told them I had already been on the phone with them for an hour just send me a remote. I did not get a new remote ' They are the rudest customer service I have ever incountered. After twenty years I'm thinking of changing my business aith them.

Would of it been so hard to troubleshoot, i'll bet you'll be one of the first to cry when the bill goes up because people like you who are too good to follow the simple steps and just start sending thousands of remotes out that just needed the batteries put in correctly or a simple reprogram, it is people like you who give me a good laugh when I am on the phones and they start to go off because I won't send a remote or give a free service call take the time and troubleshoot or drag your a%s to walmart and buy a new one if you want warranty service you must do what is needed

Directv in Hohenwald, Tennessee - Can't help the customer

I have direct TV and I love it but now I have been having trouble with getting channels to come in and now the satellite is not working. So I called customer service and ask them nicely to send out a tection out today Saterday April 28. You know what they said "NO, the only day that we can send a tection out is on Tuesday. Oh that got me agery I try everything I knew how to get them to work with me. I ask them to call the office down here where I live to get a tection out they said " We can't do that because are system don't allow us to and we don't have the number." I say B.S.. Did I mangen that I live in TN and the custmore service office is up in PA. Guess what I found the number to my local office but guess what no address. There should be a law that all companies need to post their addresses and phone numbers up online. So when I call this number I get a holding message and it get to the end that the office hours are Mon-Friday 8am est to 11pm Est, and on Saterday from 8am est to 6pm est guess when I called 3:15pm Cnt. So direct tv need to fix their customer service to be more service than rude, system orgazied BS.

Hey man I'm a dtv tech employee trust me we are very upset as well that we can't help u out on this type of issue. When we set up an appt we can only choose certain dates that ate available to us and it sends it to your local office people tell us all the time that we should just call the local office but we actually don't have a number this upsets us to because we wish all the time we had a number. Back in 2008 we did have a number for ur office but they took that option away from us when a lot of people started to call their local office.

Directv in Albany, Oregon - Direct TV charges extra when their equipment breaks down

When you pay a monthly fee for equipment and said equipment breaks down you would expect the company to replace the equipment for free since they own it. But no they want to charge an exorbant amount to ship it. Rip Off I say. That is Direct TV for you. The problem is the reciever, It will not turn on anymore. i have called them and as I say they want too much to ship it, and they want your credit card number over the phone. With as much intregrity as Direct TV has I don't think you can trust them with your Credit Card number. Thanks

I have replace my receiver twice in 6 mths. Its nuts to keep sending refurbished equipment when I pay the insurance cost. Why dont they ship new receivers?

You are very wise not to give them your credit card# or bank account # because they will use this without your permission as they have done to many thousands of customers.I agree DTV should fix their own broken equipment but they don't and to make things worse when you upgrade (get a new receiver or any other equipment for any reason)This automatically extends your contract for another 2 yrs.

Direct tv is a sorry company to deal with. i was promised a $200 visa card and $72.82/month bill.

the visa card was said to be in my mail box within 4-6 weeks. i asked the customer service man three times if my payments would fluctuate and he said no. i was with them for two months and in the two months my bill went from $72.82 to $84.01. i canceled after the second month and received my boxes to send back within one week.

i have yet to receive my $200 visa card.

i just got off the phone with direct tv and the lady said since you canceled you are probably not going to receive your visa card and if you don't pay we will automatically withdraw it from your account. I WISH THEM THE BEST OF LUCK IN TRYING TO GET MY MONEY.
