Directv in Miami, Florida - Spanish Direct TV add promoting terrorism?

I'm outrageous by the new ludicrous Direct TV add in Spanish that features a convicted felon who blows up the house of the judge who convicted him. The man make the judge's house exploded after planning the attack in jail. According to the message, the explosion occurred because the judge was grumpy since he couldn't watch TV the day he sentenced the man. Directv in Los Angeles, California - BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

After getting Direct TV installed I was happy until the bill came, it showed no discount so I went on line and followed the directions and filled out all the information they asked for, so I could receive my discount. But here it is April and no discount. Now I have called Direct TV in January 2 times, February 3 times. And each time I was told that there was nothing they could do for us seeing that I did not receive a confirmation number. I was told once from the Supervisor Robert that he would escalate the process and that they would get back to me in 10 days. Well no one contact me. And I find out from another customer service rep that in the notes there was no note that said the discount request was escalated. So the other day I called again and I spoke to ELI who is also a supervisor, who told me that they could not do anything for me either and that they had spoken to me on Feb. 15 and that he explained to me the whole situation. And that they had sent out a letter and an e-mail. I told him how this could be. I was gone on a trip from Feb 11-18 so he could not have spoken with me and I have not received any e-mails from direct TV. All they have been doing is lying to me and not giving me my discount. I am a senior on a fixed income and I cannot afford 128.00 a month. So he explains to me that I can change packages. So I asked him if how many channels would I lose on the 200's he said none well I lost a lot of my favorite channels. Again he lied to me. It seems to me that they have violated my contract/ agreement so can I cancel my contract without being charged. I'm sick if dealing with people who lie to me.

I had my wife - who is about as technology-oriented as a garden hose - make this call, so the fact the problem was solved speaks volumes for your representatives. This was our second different DirectTV failure in a week.

Your agent's treatment of the first was so extraordinary I sent a letter of praise to corporate in El Segundo - after the email address on your site was rejected! I never talked to your agent this time, but my wife was surpeisingly pleased!

I was told by the person who installed my DIRECT TV and from the paper that comes with your bill each month that you would receive a $10 credit each month if you referred someone and they gave your account number. I have referred 2 people and I have not seen any credits on my bills, and neither have they.So whats that about? :(

DirectTv gives out a bare minimal amount of discounts and then only a few random people get them.This is just another of their scams to get people to sign up. If you decide to cancel service with DTV there is a $20 charge for every month left on your 2yr contract plus they will charge for the equipment you have before you can send it back. Get tracking # when returning equipment.Before cancelling service be sure to close or change #'s on any account they have on file for you otherwise they will automatically charge your account what ever amount they see fit and getting your money back is next to impossible.If you possibly can use Email to communicate with them,this gives you proof of what is said where as a phone call is just your word against theirs.Good Luck

OMG!! My husband and I have been calling Direct TV about our bundle rates and discounts and rebates!

We have been told by Direct TV to call Verizon, when we call Verizon they told us to call Direct TV!! Now it is 90 days after we began our account with Direct TV and now we are no longer eligible for the bundle, discount or rebate!!!!!

direct tv apparently installs dishes on people's property without authorization from landlord. On top of that, they damage the property and will not rectify the situation. Then when u call the 1-800 number, you get transferred 5 times, put on hold for hours at a time, & then told they won't fix the problem unless your willing to pay them more money!!!! Wait a second, something is very shady about this company!! Let me get this straight, owners of properties can't get any info on who ordered the dish (even though its not their property), no real phone # to actually talk to someone who can help, then say they are going to bill you for them damaging YOUR property!!! What a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Directv in Richardson, Texas - Direct TV- does not keep appointment made with technician

If you are deciding on cable company, do not even consider Direct TV. Customer service is terrible. This has happened repeatedly to us. Initially for the install, we scheduled an appointment for the technician to come out. Then we were called on the day of by the technician to cancel due to being "overbooked by Direct TV". The installation was delayed by 10 days. Now again we need a technician to come and fix the dish. Had an appointment for day and have already been called by technician to say again they are overbooked. Called customer service and was told that "all companies operate like this". Not true. We are now without any TV service and are at their mercy.

I am very upset that Direct TV has cancelled the Fox Channel. I live where I can only get Satilite or I would have already changed my service to cable. If you do not put Fox back on the air I will consider changing to "The Dish Network" or anther Satilite service. I am sure this is about money and the owner of Direct TV and Ceo and othet BIG guys on the block aren't receiving their big bonuses dues to the current state of the economy....how greety can you get? I mean really the Fox Channel is not a movie channel like HBO, showtime and other paid channels....its just Fox like CBS, NBC ect.... Please get you mind off the all mighty BUCK and let people enjoy there favorite shows....we pay you enough!!!

Very disapointed for Direct TV to remove the Fox Channel...I am considering changing to The Dish Network! I can only have Satilite where I live or I would have already switched to cable. I'm sure like everthing else this is just a MONEY issue! I pay my bill and the Fox Channel is not HBO, Showtime or Starz ... how greety can you get! I guess the owners of Direct TV and CEO and all the other BIG GUYS on the block aren't getting their big bonuses anymore due to the economy so they are trying to charge extra for a TV channel...again ..HOW GREETY can you get???

Directv in Sacramento, California - DirectTV Took Our Money

We decided to bundle my phone, internet and cable to save some money. Unfortunately, DirectTV couldn't match the cost of the provider. So I called DirectTV to see if there would be a cancellation fee. The customer service rep so no, we were long time members. Received a bill for the cancellation fee (3/19/12). Called customer service again. DirectTV rep (Nelly Ext 100582511) said that would be removed once we returned the equipment. We had just received the packaging material, so we returned the equipment. Yesterday (4/4/12), they took $440 out of our account. So of course we called DirectTV again, talked to a customer service rep then asked to speak to a manager who told us the other people we spoke to were in error and he apologized but we were under contract and there was nothing he could do. Doesn't DirectTV hold their employees accountable for the information they provide? We cannot afford $440 to be taken out of account. A word to the wise, be careful before you decide to get service from DirectTV. Their customer service stinks!

Direct Tv Stole money from our account. It was a fraudulent charge and we are not customers of theres. They would not give us our money back. Told it would take 10-15 days and we dont get paid for two more weeks! Drained our checking and saving leaving us stranded on the road with no money and no food with our two young girls all night in Michigan. ITS COLD HERE!! And to top it off we were across state visiting My mother in law in the hospital in a coma. I just kept getting transferred to India. They said there was nothing they could do or no one for us to talk to. Even After a three way call with us, our bank and Direct tv still no Help. They left us on the the side of the road with nothing. I had to borrow money from a stranger to eat and get us home.They took $875 from checking and even $38 from our savings. Now we dont have rent gas or heat money and no money to get to our jobs. This company does what they want when they want! STAY AWAY!!

Carolin...you need to call them and have them send boxes for the equipment and be sure to get a tracking# to prove they get it.Ask your cc if there is a possibility DTV can post charges to this new #. If you believe you have a good case, you can ask for this to be resolved through Mediation

Anonymous...Did you ask your bank if they would reverse the charges? Explain to them what has happened and that you are on the street,surely they will help you and reverse the charges.You may also file charges with your local police,they will probably be able to help you and tell you what to do.

Sorry to hear your situation, I cancelled Direct TV right after three day since they didn't gives us what they promised, They sent me a bill for a 88.00 charge from my account and when I called them I couldn't get into any agreement with them, so I told them that I will call them back after talk it over with my husband, just to gain some time; immediately I contacted my Credit Card and I change the numbers on it and put a dispute on the 88.00 plus the 21 deposit, the last amount was credited, so I am working on this to see how I can get rid of the *** I still have the equipment tough.

I worked for dtv for almost 3 years. Was considered a great employee, received great raises. I spent 2 1/2 years in bgi then went to ace which is nothing like what they say it was all ace is is selling sellling selling. I never had a red flag until february which i deserved that one. then in march a extremeley rude customer called in upset that he wanted another dvr at no cost well new policy stated no credit on equipment if a ccommitment was on account which there was and no heart value. I quoted the price of dvr and customer stated he could pay the same price and cancel so i sent to cancellation department after apologizing and asking what else i could do. needless to say instead of tl having my back she stated i was rude and didnt show engagement with customer and i was terminated 2 red flags. why after 2 i got the boot but some people had up to 8 in 5 months before they got the boot dtv doesnt care abot anything but money

@JustSayin... If you are already struggling on buying food, then don't get a service that you can't afford. Simple as that!

I do understand what the OP feels. As a CSR regardless of company, we get calls from some - not all - arrogant, entitled, and rude customers. We do all the time take the heat from customers. And CSR do cry and quite because of that.

But nothing beats the feeling of helping a customer solve his/her issue(s).

its true, im just being honest. if we can only reverse the payment then we'll do it. if i were to ask you, do you want anyone to yell at you over the phone for almost an hour? do anyone likes to be stressed with every calls??

-- hi there. im also an employee of directv. i also got some calls related to your question, well me as a person ofcourse we also feel bad about it and we are also against on some of the policies of directv but as an employee we cant do something about it, i mean if the money is already debited then we dont have any way to do refund unless theres a credit balance on the account. it is because we are not a financial institution thats why we are not capable to reverse any payments.

honestly i feel bad especially if my caller is under social security then they really need the money but it was already debited from their account, it really breaks my heart when old people is crying over the phone but i cant do anything about it and the most i can do is to stay with them over the phone and swallow all of their complaints (w/c is i understand)
