Directv in Knoxville, Tennessee - Price was almost double from what I was told it would be

Trying to lower my cable bill of $70.00 I called to see what kind of price I could receive from Direct. After answering lots of questions my package price was to be $48.95 for the 1st year, add $15.00 for the 2nd year. (2 year contract) The 1st bill I would get would be for $15.00 State law. 1st bill was for $15.00 (2nd bill was $82.68 $33.75 over was I was quoted.) I've called and talked to 5 different people. Upper management Was to call me back within 7 days over 20 days and still waiting! DON'T GO WITH THIS COMPANY

Directv in Spokane, Washington - Horrible customer service!!!!

Whatever you do, DO NOT get service with them. You will get the worst customer service ever!!! I don't know how they are in business, you will not resolve your issue, rather incur more problems than you started out with. We tried to get service and they setup appt. for phone line but didn't tell us, they didn't order our modem and when I tried to get one they couldn't get that right. I then decided to drop them and I spend about two hours trying to get our service dropped. After speaking to 6 people I still couldn't get the service removed because as it turned out my husband was the only one who could discontinue services. I spoke to six people, three from Century link and three from Direct tv, it would have saved my time on the phone if the first person could have told me I couldn't discontinue the service. Instead they wasted my time and still couldn't get this matter resolved. Oh, and did I mention that the last person I was transfered to greeted me with "Thank you ....." the person before didn't even tell her that I was dropping them. She then tried to get me to tell her what my issues were so she could keep us as customers. I stopped her in her tracks. Save yourself the headache and stay away from this service!

Direct T.V. from *** should go there and stay there!!.... The service from the very moment we turned on our sets!!!.... big GAME CHANGE. Could not watch any one program w/o having to download?...this sometimes took several days if ever. A very fast forward, I cancelled service the next day and returned equipment w/in 5 days! I get a bill from this moronic company saying iou $376.00 for early cancellation! This *** who sold me this snake oil cable company...never once mentioned anything about the above said...contracts , disclosures nada. Good Riddance and let the games begin!

I'm still reeling from this as I just rec'd my credit card bill and there in the adj. section?

$376.00 charged back to my card!... even after BofA cloesd the dispute in my favor. Yeah BofA it's to late to respond but there's always tomorrow and DirectTV will have to legit claim that they are in the right. I'm confident as I have all my documentation down to the very first call to DirectTV.

So let the games begin!

Anyone remember "Gladiator"... :) :) :) :) :) :)

I would not recommend this company to anyone! And for you Calamity Jane with all due respect Calamity Jane lives in a small " cabin " yeah so much for room to room compatibility with the so called interactive service I get with At&t.

Comparably, the better of the two and the latter not an amateur.

Oh! and the price cheaper than Direct and easier to maneuver from room to room w/o continuity disruption likened to Direct

And they will....Watch your bank account or credit card whichever DTV has on file for you because they will put the cancellation fee on your card or debit it from your bank account.The only way to stop this is to close the account they have on file for you.

DirecTV Lies and Fees

My elderly parents had a DirecTV rep come to their house and get them to switch from Dish. They were getting ready to move at that time so asked repeatedly about issues with moving service, which they were repeatedly told was free and not a problem. When I went to visit I saw the picture was bad and found that they'd installed a Standard Def box on their Hi Def TV. Additionally, when it came time to move, we were informed that there would be a $99 charge to move. At the same time I asked to have the box switched out to HD as should have been installed originally and was told that woud be another $99. In total we spent over 2 hours on the phone with all the various groups. No one made any attempt to help resolve the issue and the last person in the "resolution" department actually said they could suspend their account (read turn off their TV) for six months until they could pay. That was their resolution. I will never use DirecTV, I would encourage everyone to find any other company to get service from.

Directv does lie! and on top of that, they do not care.

They lied to me, when they installed "whole home" which turned out to be 2/3 home, they did not include one of the TVs. The fellow I talked to told me on 2 occasions that this will not extend my contract.

Now they are telling me it did. Off goes a letter to my congressperson and the VP of Directv.

Agreed. This happened to my wife and I, at first we were told that there will bot not additional charges if we moved from one place to another, but they lied to us, once we called DirecTV to let them know were were moving they told us the charging price would be of $109 bucks or worse we would have to pay around $360 to discontinue their services.

God, I miss my Dish...

Directv in Phoenix, Arizona - Direct TV Ripoff

My roommate and I signed up for Direct TV. We received 2 receivers with our package. We then saw a coupon for 4 receivers upon sign up. We were moving into a big house and my roommate and I both work 6 days a week and she has 3 kids. To say the least, move in has been hectic. I just got around to calling today to see about getting the deal with the 4 receivers and the customer service rep tells me we have to call within 2 weeks upon sign up in order to get the deal. She then tells me it will be another $250 if I want the 2 extra receivers. My roommate signed up for 24 months of service and you are telling me they can't give some consideration for a long term customer? They also were calling us 3 times a day before we signed up with them.

They did the same thing with us over a DVR- they offer them to new customers for "free" but we didn't need one when we signed up- now, after two years of being loyal customers, they want to charge us $199.00 for one- a bunch of garbage, I say!

Who does direct TV think they are..using a bully like this company. ???? I am not jumping bail..on a law suit. I never got a bill..from dir aect tv stating I owe them..then this letter comes 2 years after switching to uverse..and totally..throws me under the bus...not tactfully either. The guy was as rude as anyone has ever been to me. My call ended with you *** D***! I never lose my temper or let people like that bother me..especially when I know this is a baloney call. beware of the desperation of the Tony Suprano collection agency..thinks their dead beat receivables are actually worth 10% of the gross. they wont get it from me..nor will I use direct TV. come get me...I want a face to face with the the guy who called me?

Directv has the WORST customer service

Their customer service representatives are so incompetent and I could not find one single person to answer a simple question. I cancelled my account, paid the final bill and wanted to return their receivers but could not find anyone who could simply mail me a label in order to do so. One representative hung up on me and two of their representatives transferred me to the beginning prompts that started on a crazy loop! Ever since Directv was taken over by AT&T, their service and customer representatives have gone down the drain! They only care about their money! It is no wonder that this company reinvents itself under new names to confuse the public.

you only have a certain length of time(14days?) to return their boxes,otherwise they will charge you for them.Be sure to get a tracking# to prove they get them when they do send the boxes and most of all watch your bank account

MY FATHER LIVES ON A FIXED INCOME!!!!!!! AND HE HAS BEEN RIPPED OFF BY DIRECT TV/ATT WE WERE TOLD WHEN WE FIRST GOT STARTED WE WOULD PAY A BUNDLE PACKAGE LOWER THAN $100 WE WOULD HAVE A HOME PHONE SERVICE AND DIRECT TV. IT DIDNT HAPPENED THE FIRST SIX MONTHS WE PAID BILL OF 200.00. I DONT UNDERSTAND!!!!!! WHY I WOULD HAVE TO GO TO THE LEVEL OF CALLING THE PRESIDENT TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND ONCE I DID IT TOOK ME CALLING CALIFORNIA TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM, SO DONT GET DIRECT TV FOR NO REASON........... canceling contract

I had this deal also with DirectTV&AT&T. The only difference was AT&T did not charge an early cancellation fee.The only way you can stop DTV from charging your bank or credit card account is to close the account they have on file for you.

If your father has a bank account or credit card,and DTV has the account#(giving someone the acc# is the same as giving permission to withdraw) they can debit the account.Also with SS once the money is put into an account anyone with the account # can withdraw money from the account.If DTV does withdraw money,you can call the bank and ask if they will reverse the charges,some banks will some won't or if it's on a credit card,you can dispute the charges but when the money is replaced,the account will need to be closed to prevent recharging.I went through this too,that is how I know.DTV charged a total of $898 on my cc.I got my money replaced but had to close the account.Trying to deal with DirectTV is useless. Don't forget to get tracking #'s when returning equipment to DTV.

Screwed my father too!! My 71 year old father lives solely off of his SS income.

He called ATT and was offered a "bundle package" for $75 per month. His first bill was $98, called to complain and was told it would be fixed. Next bill $115, called again and was told it would be fixed. Next bill.....you got it $98 AGAIN!!

When I finally called they told me that it was an ATT problem. ATT said they couldn't do anything about it. Cancelled with ATT but was told that DirecTV wold charge a $400 early cancellation fee!!! They collectively are screwing him.

One blames it on the next. I told him not to pay the fee.

They are pathetic and I am going to find out about a class action lawsuit. Plan on building a nice website to find out how many others are going through the same thing.

I was told the same thing and it never happen I called every month for over 6 months and it never was fixed ,so i told them that i didn't want there service anymore and now i am getting a $200.00 crarge for stoping the services,i know where they can stick that bill.

I am so pissed with this company I have been going round in round in a circle with them. I call monday and thinking everything was good paiod them 228.00 to get it connected. I then get a call the next day I have some security issues with them so they sent me to the fraud department. I sent over all the info and then they said everything is good now. I am sitting and waiting for someone to come and connect my cable no show are phone call from them. I call them and they said that they forgot to take the hold off the count after taking off for a day and calling them at least for 12 time to twelve different people. They finally reschedule someone to come out the next day and he get there and say oh I cant hook this up this company has there private contracter to hook up there cable. Now Direct TV telling me it takles up to 10 business day to get my money back... I cant wait to mave and they should be ashame of themselves

Directv in Hagerstown, Maryland - Equipment not as promised.

March 3 I cancelled direct because I had problems with them. I has dish installed march 3rd. I talked with customer service and the installer. I told them I wanted a dvr so I could watch TV and record a program while in the same room. They both said OK. It was installed only to be recording Monday and the 2nd TV went out during a basketball game to start recording my show. My husband was peeved. That is not what I wanted. So today I called dish and was told I could not do this only if I bought a receiver for $50.00. I asked about the hopper and he insulted me by saying only the pepple with 100% great credit can get one. He said it is only for new customers. I have only had them for 3 weeks. I cancelled direct for *** like this and dish is no better. They promised me I could record and watch TV in the same room. Not so.. I wish I would have stayed with direct.
