STAY AWAY FROM DIRECTV!

Yes, that's right! Stay away from DIRECTV! Run, run as fast as you can from these money-grabbers!! They will not stick-up to the contract, they'll remove channels you originally paid for without letting you know, they will upsell their products and services, again without notifications. Their customer services is really poor, they will tell you lies, like they tell you that DIRECTV pays $300 to the tech for every installtion when in truth the tech it paid $80, don't believe them... just trust the reviews, read the contract, read everys *** review before committing. Oh and this " FREE HD" for one year *** is a downright SCAM, you'll be paying for it after six month... I was a Dish Network customer for two straight years and I never, ever had as much problems as I'm having with DTV, yes Dish Network has its problems too, they're not very different compared to DTV but one thing Im sure of though they won't give you as much headache as DTV does. I miss my Dish ;( I wish I've never moved to DTV, surely this is the biggest mistake I have made in a long, long, long time. Morever, DirecTV will charge you 100+ bucks if you relocate before having a year contract with them... I mean... just, STAY AWAY FROM DIRECTV.

I agree with you 110%.there is so much more that people should know about DirectTV like their early cancellation fees of $20 for every month left on your contract and the fact that their prices go up almost every month.If you are stuck with DTV, get a prepaid credit card and give them this number for their files not your bank account or credit card# and yes, Read The Reviews!!!

Directv in Staten Island, New York - Pleas contact me regarding Direct TV issues

DirectTV took 844.07 out of my bank account which is social security disability for me and my children to pay for someone elses account and i have never had an account with them. They refuse to give it back to me. Please email me at directtvpetition@yahoo.com I am petitioning the attorney general, as advised by the attorney general. If I can get 1,000 names of consumers in the state of New York. I am also following this petition in the state of North Carolina so 1,000 names of consumers there too. Thank you for your help.

The only way any of them listen, and mark my words, ask for the supervisor, when you get one, ask to be transferred to the 'Site Manager'. That's basically the supervisors boss.

If the site manager won't help. Ask them to give you the number for the Fraud department, along with the address to the office of the president. That is ALWAYS a big deal for them. Get a name and badge number for every *** person you talk to and include those in the letter to the office of the president.

I would honestly say write a letter either way. It will help. They actually do review them. Good luck!

DOWN WITH DTV. Their reps know nothing, they know nothing, and I'm tired of them telling me they do! Help me place you on hold.

* ba dah ba dah dah ba dah* And remember, it's not the reps fault, they only have access to limited resources and they kinda sent them in there with NO information.

Trust me, I know first hand.

Most try their best, others don't care. But still.

If DTV took the money from your account recently,get in touch with your bank and ask bank to reverse the charges. DTV has gotten your account # from somewhere,did you pay someone else's bill at any time? I wish you luck with the petition but I live in Ky.

Directv in Bellevue, Washington - Charged my card for my daughters account

I paid a bill thru at&t for my daughter's direct tv. About a year later, my card was charged 309.87 by direct tv. They kept my card on file when I paid the bill a year ago. My daughter lives at a totally different address. I have never had nor will I have direct tv. I did not authorize them to keep my card on file or to ever charge it again. Getting them to refund my account has proved to be useless. I have no choice but to file charges on direct tv for theft. The worst customer service i have ever delt with.

you need to call your bank and put a stop payment on all direct tv activity! I had auto pay and they kept sticking their hands in my account and taking whatever they wanted to even if I didn't owe it!

Because it was my debit card the bank didn't charge me to stop payment. You need to have your daughter call dtv and tell them to remove that card from her account as well!

Forbess1. whenever you make a payment rather it be throught he automative system, with a rep, or online etc.

There is a disclosure that is giving that the card will be kept onfile and used for any unpaid balances or non return of equipment fees after temenation of service.

one must agree to these terms before a payment is accepted. So you might want to speak to your daughter to see why she accepted the terms.

You can dispute the charges with your credit card co but when the money is returned to your account, you may have to close the account to keep DTV from recharging your account.This is the surest way of getting your money returned to your card.

igot direct tv when i moved to one part of kentucky well i had to move from that place to another and where they advirtise movimg just pack up the box and we do the rest is a crock i called them told them told them i was moving said ii wanted to move my service i figured i would have to pay a small fee for moving but the tell me i have to pay 80 dollars to turn my service off then 126.00 to have a new satellite installed at my new apartment thats 206 i dont have when u r on a fixed income the guy who installed our direct turned out to br one of our friends at oue first home he told us that dierct tv will jack the bill up fpr anything they can think of.i think direct is a big rip off they never had any good movies on they tolg me my bill would only be 45 a month it was 70

I had DirecTV before I realized they are a huge scam. But the moving was actually free for me. I didn't even have to bring anything with me; they brought all new equipment to the new house and installed it for free.

And please, for the love of god, use a spellchecker.

If you can't afford DirecTV then DON'T ORDER DIRECTV. It's really that simple.

You need food, water, and shelter. Cable TV so you can sit around all day doing nothing productive is not necessary.

Update, I finally got my money back from DTV! I also reported them to the Better Business Bureau. They were more than happy to help! Since I had been trying every avenue I could think of, I am not sure which way worked. So approximately 2 1/2 months after they helped themselves to my bank account, the money mysteriously reappeared! So in review, I had DIRECT TV for aprox 16 years. With my husband being laid off we could not afford them any longer. We canceled with them. It was a couple weeks before christmas last year. They helped themselves to my christmas money! I had all of. 22 cents for christmas after they got done with me. So thanks to some perseverance, I won this fight. Don't let them do this to you!

I have been a customer since your name was prime star. I was told four months ago if I did a different package other than what I had that my bill would go down. Every *** month you people keep going up on me and I have to fight to get a mere five dollars off and to top it off you can't speak to a supervisor that can speak good English!!!! I am one dissatisfied long time customer. I have been a loyal customer of Direct TV for 8 years and I have to call EVERY year and argue with them when they increase my bill. It is unbelievably annoying that a company has such little respect for it's customers.

They offered the Free NFL package last fall for new customers. Why not offer it to their faithful customers for staying with the company?

My sister-in-law called and argued with them about that exact package and she ended up getting it for free - after arguing with them for almost an hour and threatening to cancel. I am currently looking at Dish's offers and they look great, but I am wary that they will be just as greedy and self-serving as Direct TV.

I am a current cable subscriber and asof lately it has been dropping a great deal so i called and order direct tv all went great agreed upon what i wanted and a price set up installation for 2 days later between 8 and 12 in the morning i stayed home waiting but no one showed so i called there was a hold placed on my account for an unpaid bill from 2007 the issue with this is bill was not in my name at all it was in a persons name in which i had lived with they checked public records to find that i lived there and their policy that can not be found amywhere is if you lived with a person for any period of time and they fail to pay their bill ur responsible for it being paid before you can get any service my wife also cannot get service because she is married to me and connected to person with unpaid bill and rather then call me and tell me there was a hold i waited for installation and called them to be told about the hold when signing up i supplied them with 2 contact numbers and an email no contact from them at all i am pissed because since when am i responsible for a contract that i didn't enter into with direct tv you are guilty by association i don't suggest anyone deal with this crooked a## company their customer service is sh## and their polices bullsh##

Never ever paid your bill with your debit card, they stolen your information and send to you receptors that you not order and ...charges your debit card without your authorization,no one two of then, after more than three calls they want you put the receptors back in the post office. I was calling more than 10 times, wrote e-mails to consumer report and nothing happen, they allays have excuses and delays but you never see your money back. Bottom line it's not a safe place for you to send any bank information to Direct TV. Be Carefull
