i am deaf and can not call and even though I have emailed them that my sister could talk for me they will not let her and say she can use relay but I can not i do not have a phone or the equipment needed to use relay. I have been paying for a second box for 3 years ans it never worked they would not come exchange it or fix it. and i paid 95.00 a month and had no hbo or starz or any movie channels . I finally said enough and went to new wave .And without my ok took my final bill out of my account causing a huge overdraft and losts of fees now I am broke and can not buy food the rest of the month . I live on disability. so everyone out there dont pay with you debit card because they can go in and take your money with out your knowledge . .

First we wanted the whole system up grade and wasted an entire Saturday waiting on them to come out. Once they showed up, the tech only had a new HD DVR. He was suppose to bring a new dish and all new receivers. So then we told him to go...only to hear the Direct TV lady tell him that in order for him to get paid he had to install something. We apologized to him and he left. Well, since then I can count on one hand how many times we get to really watch TV. The slightest wind,rain or snow the dish goes out. Tonight is a beautiful night and no dish...no tv. I highly recommend to everyone.... pass on the Direct Tv. Also, when you go to call them...expect to be on the phone for at least an hour or more!

I acquired DirectTV a few months ago. After I was conned into signing up for it with the promise of a definite install date, the day before the install I they said my install was in two weeks. DirectTV won't let you get details about service unless you give them credit card and other info. The practice of insisting on your credit card information before they give you details about service is bad business and should be illegal. You know they won't delete that info- they will sell it on their lists. I had no internet set up at the time so they told me they would set up an account for me to have the supposed discount - it never happened and their site won't let me set it up so they keep overcharging me by about $60 a month. I called and said I wanted someone to call me but they have not. It is breach of contract so I am ditching them. Too bad I can't get cable where I am.

Upon calling direct tv and putting my tv on VACATION right b4 the Thanksgiving Holiday I thought everything was ok. I am a missionary and was to leave for a month and then it was changed to 4 months, so I called DTV twice and told them I would be leaving and to make sure it was on Vacation mode...they responded NO PROBLEM....I put extra money into my bundled account(telephone and internet) so they would have enough for the time I would be gone...I noticed that it was gone by the first of the year! DTV had NOT turned my account into vacation and was taking the money out...causing great distress and financial burden on us. I tried calling them and finally got through to someone that said he would take care of everything and not to worry! One and a half hours on my phone...then I get a letter saying my accounts were being shut off due to lack of payment...they stole and lied . I tried to get through to a supervisor, I was talking and she hung up on me? What do I do call the BBB? AG?
Directv in Bellevue, Washington - DIRECT TV INSTALLATION
Let me first say I am happy with Direct TV reception and selection. That aside the third party they employ to install and service the units is another matter. Now we have 2 units in the main residence and wanted to add a third unit in our garage apartment. I paid Direct TV $177.00 for this third unit which I thought was far to much but did. I told Direct TV this unit would be installed in the garage apartment BEHIND THE MAIN RESIDENCE , The installer did come by and knocked on my door but I did not hear him, so he left. Did he try to contact the man who was waiting in his garage apartment NO!!! They did call me on my satellite phone which is connected to my computer which was off so I did not receive this call, if I was told they could call me on my land line I would have be informed about the installer outside. Our house is large so a knock on the door at times can not be heard. I called the service company up and ask them if the 67 year old renter could sign for the installation the *** on the phone said NO I had to be the one to sign. I had to pick up my step dad so I told them to cancel the order as I could not be in two places at once. When I got back I then called Direct TV and they told me that the renter could sign for the Installation. Since it was now late being after 4:00PM they could not install the next day it would have to be 2 days from now. Direct TV is currently running a campaign to get your friends to sign up with Direct TV --In light of this Installation horror story I will be participate. Direct TV better revisit to way their customers are taken care of by these companies they farm out to service their customers!!!
Directv in Orlando, Florida - Give the installer a beer!
I called Direct TV about switching from Comcast tonight. When the sales person was talking about the installer coming out, she told me to give him a beer or glass of water. I asked her twice and she repeated the same thing! Did not go with this company. Would not want to be the last customer of the day. And since when do we supply refreshments to the service people? Is this part of the fee? Too crazy! I thought comcast was bad, actually they are as takes a week to get anyone out, even if you do not have service on your tv. They also have repair calls going overseas and you can't understand them!

AFTER BEING MESSED OVER MORE THAN 3 TIMES TRYING TO GET THEM TO SEND BOXES TO RETURN RECEIVERS DUE TO MOVE, GOT A BILL FOR EARLY CANCELLATION FEE WITH ONLY ONE MONTH TO GO. I SPENT MORE THAN 30 MINUTES AND MANY PEOPLE TO FIND OUT THAT THEY ALREADY DIRECT BILLED CREDIT CARD AND I AM NOT ABLE TO DISPUTE SERVICES FEES. WE HAVE BEEN CUSTOMERS SINCE 2003 REGARDLESS OF THE COLOR OR FUNCTION OF THE BOX, OUR $ WENT TO DIRECT TV. IN THE END, THAT LOYALTY MEANS NOTHING. ANY APPRECIATION OF OUR CHOICE OF THEM FOR SERVICE WAS NULL. THE $20 WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAN CUSTOMER LOYALTY. GIVEN A CHOICE WILL NOT EVER USE THEM AGAIN. HOPE THE $20 IS WORTH IT TO YOU.

We have to cancel our contract due to closing of our business and filing for bankrupcty. We have a year left on our contract and although we explained the details to Roy#1011184445 he could care less and said we still have to pay them $240. We have no money. We are trying to due the responsible thing and lower our debts, but really we can't get out of the contract. AVOID THIS COMPANY. THERE SERVICE IS NON-EXISTENT, THEY ARE RUDE. Go with anyone else, they have to be better than Direct TV. And what's up with everyone having to watch the same thing on TV. What a scam this company is. DONT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO WITH THIS COMPANY.

We signed up with Direct TV one year ago. We had a 2 year contract. Number one, there service is ***, really everyone has to watch the same thing.... We've had some hardships, lost our business and had to file bankrupcty for our business and personal. We are losing our home. We've always paid our bills on time, but due to no income we called to cancel our service. We explained our hardship and they REFUSE to help us with the early termination fees. Even though we have no money, can't find employment so have no jobs they won't help us. Really $200 plus to cancel. BS

I been a customer with Directv for over 15 years. I even had to pay $ 800.00 for the setup. After talking with several Directv employees about getting HD free for life. The employee for Directv said NO. Free HD is ONLY for NEW customer and their was nothing that could be done about it.Directv charges $ 10:00 a month for HD, unless you are a NEW customer. The employee did say they appreciated and care for their customers. Directv, apparently don't care for loyal customers. All customers should get free HD. Loyal customer are being treated like second class people. ALL customer should be treated the same. Phillip
