Directv in Caledonia, Michigan - Signal keeps cutting out
3/5/2012 evening. Signal stops. Tv people stop talking , change channel same thing ,come back and its ok for a few seconds. Go to radio and its ok. Directv in San Marcos, California - Got ripped off by Satellite Direct Advance!
I totally got ripped off by these people! I can watch whatever shows on Hulu Plus for 7.99 don't need to pay them another $8 a month for a toolbar to go through, which is all you seem to get from Satellite Direct Advance. Then when I was totally broke so the auto pay didn't go through, they shut off service. Ok, that's fair, but then they have continued to bill me for the past 2 months but I haven't gone back and restarted it! And I'm not getting service from them. Rip Off!

Directv in Dallas, Texas - Catch 22
I am trying to sign up on line for their "online" deal and it says I don't have a legitimate address? I called and a Direct tv guy in Oklahoma who said I'd have to get the address issue straightened out with the post office? I've lived here for 33 years and had a direct TV account, for 12 year, until two years ago, at this address. So, I called again after visiting the post office, of course the post office shows my street and number as good. How can I fix THEIR problem with THEIR addressing system? I entered other addresses and they ALL showed as a "not legitimate address?" Furthermore I could not get the "online" discount because I called? I have Dish and have had equipment problems, mostly with the remotes, and don't like the "search feature or the channel listing format. I have to say that dis has pretty good customer service. Well, Direct, I tried two times each day for three days to work this out with you but you are very difficult to deal with. They looked at my old account and show the same address. The reason I quit Direct two years ago, was because, after getting my Dad signed up, I'd found out that I had been overcharged for eight years and when I called to talk about the overcharge got one of the most disrespectful and flippant "customer service" reps I could have ever imagined. After several months, Direct finally did the right thing and refunded my overcharges but it was a real chore and I had moved on to Dish. Altho, I have to say the the Direct equipment, two Tivo recievers, worked perfectly. Could all these "customer reps" actually work for Dish or Comcast? I welcome some one from Direct who actually cares to contact me.

On Feb 14 Customer service representative by the name of Chirs was contacted. It was explained to him that my mother was elderly and due to safety and health concerns she would have to relocate to my home. She would no longer need Direct TV as I already had a TV service. After several conversations he agreed to eliminate the $300.00 cancellation fee and even stated that she would be receiving a $10. credit in the mail. On 3/3 she received a bill with a $300.00 early cancellation fee. I called immediately and was given the " unless it is determined that you can not get a satellite signal, she will be charged the early termination fee". She is an elderly lady living on a fixed income and is not trying to scam anyone. She just is not able to live safely on her own.
Directv in Dallas, Texas - Failed to show at appointed time
Direct TV installation in Weatherford TX has the worst reliability I have ever seen. We were supposed to be hooked up between 8am and 10an. Here it is 6:10 pm and we are still waiting. If they knew they were having problems, why not send another installer. I missed two appointments waiting for them to show. Contacted DIRECT TV to complain and got a bunch of sorry's, bit nothing else. They wanted me to connect to the tech department, like there was anything they could do. Told the operator that if I hadn't just made the contract, that DISH TV is also in the area. I may not keep DIRECT TV much longer if this is the kind of service I can expect. Totally disappointed and will not go through this again

Hooking up with direct tv we were told we would get all the movie channels for free for 3 months, and to call after the 3 months if we would like to keep one or all of the movie packages. we did not call because we did not like nor want the movie channels. next bill comes and we are being charged for all of them.. we call them, they apologized and said pay the full amount and we will credit your next bill 3 months later still no credit we called each month and basically told same thing repeatedly. this last time they said we are only getting a credit of $1.50 plus we never got the $ 100.00 refer a friend deal we were promised and neither did the person who referred us ....... False advertising, lied about the movie channels, lied about correcting the issue. and stole the money.... enough said?? when contract is over so are they!!!
Directv in Denver, Colorado - No satellite service
My satellite keeps going out and direct tv told me it would be a week before anyone could come out and fix it. I pay all of this money for *** service. I am really close to getting rid of satellite service for good. I live IN Colorado and any time the weather is bad, my dish goes out. There was nothing that they could do to help me, I have tried to reconnect the cords, it will work for a little while and then go out again. I also feel that any type of cable or satellite service should be regulated so it is not sky high in price. What a rip off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is it really worth all of this frustration to pay and not have good customer service. At my job, it is never stressed enough to provide good customer service. Then I get this *** service!!!!!!!!!!! Wonderful!!!!!!!

Four years we have had our satellite with directv. I admit we have fallen on hard times so I almost always pay on my shutoff notice, but I always pay. My notice was for March 1. I paid it on February 28 at a pay station, like I had done before. Got a call from one of your people saying we had to use an extention, so we asked to talk to a supervisor. She was such a snooty rude lady, whom obviously makes good money the way that she talked down to me. I am going to call back and complain, but I am going to ask for a man just so I do not wind up with that wicked lady....
