I was a customer of Direct TV for about 3-4 months. I recently moved to a apartment complex that does not use Direct TV as a cable provider/ I contacted customer service to have the services disconnected and inquired about receiving the boxes from their company to...

Call FedEx and ask them if they deliver in your area. when you send their equipment back be sure to get a tracking # or DTV will charge you for the equipment,DTV will say they did not get it.If DTV has charged your credit card, you can dispute the charges and the money will be returned pending investigation by the cc.but the charges may be returned to your credit card if the account is still open.

the same applies to bank charges. Wishing you luck...

Directv in Charlotte, North Carolina - UNsatisfied customer

I have had Dish Network for 4 years and when I recently purchased an HD television was told by D.N. that I could not get HD because of trees. I called Direct TV and explained to them the issue that I have with the trees and their response was that this was not going to be an issue because they had "better satellites". When the service tech showed up on the 18th to do the install his first words were "can't do it". I called direct tv that very moment and cancelled my order. Today is the 23rd and I just found out that they not only did not cancel but have not yet returned the money to my bank. They need to learn to do a better job of selling their product in an honest and professional manner and do a much better job of listening.

Directv in Livingston, New Jersey - Direct TV

I hadn't had tv for 24 hours before I called due to a recent storm. When I called not only did they refuse to set an appointment for an ADDITIONAL 49.99, they said I would have to wait 2-3 days to see if there may have been ice on the dish. We went on the roof prior to this and cleaned the dish thoroughly. And there was nothing. Now a 3 day wait turns to 6 with no appointment cuz of weather! Then they ask me ti upgrade. WOW. Go with a different company please. We have been with Direct TV for over 6 years now and this service is getting worse each time. We haven't had too many problems but in the past 2 years it seems as though we ar always calling for something. We have premium (Every channel) and this is how we get treated. It shouldn't matter if we pay 40.00 or 160.00 a month, an additional service call cuz of their problem should not cause me a financial problem. Also to insult me by trying to get me to upgrade after they refuse to make an appointment till the snow melts! Good luck, I live in Minnesota. I will not be going with them after my contracts up. I will do homework to the letter and get what I pay for. I work hard, as we all do, for our money and this company is insulting and getting more problematic daily in my opinion.

I'll bet their upgrade will put you into a new 2 yr contract with them.

Directv in Columbia, Maryland - How is it that direct tv can take away channels and not offer new ones to replace

How is it that Direct Tv Satelite can take away channels and not offer any new ones to replace the ones they took off. When your a newly signed up customer they offer all kinds of stuff to the old customers that they apperciate they offer squat. They screw up your billing constantly. They try to compensate by offer the same channels and once they have offered the same package there is nothing they are willing to help with regardless if its there fault or not. If your signed up to have so many channels and they take one away and do not replace it are they not breaching their own contract?

We also always watched cloo, when I called and inquired about not having it any longer I was told it was no longer included in my package. I have one of the largest packages they offer.

How could it not be included!

I am switching to Dish Tv as soon as my contract is up w/direct in April. There customer service stinks

I was told they had a rate increase for Cloo and was given a two week notice in small print on my January bill. Didn't see it & the channel was turned off.

They said I could have it back for $5 more per month. Funny thing is I watch that channel. My husband has a separate account at his cabin, and does not watch that channel, no increase.

The supervisor said it was just an "oversight"? It's deceptive and dishonest.

Directv in Stamford, Connecticut - Direct TV - Wrong Box and Hidden Costs

My Landlord ordered a fourth box from Direct TV for the apartment I am renting in his home. The salesperson gave me two options, a standard box or one that records shows. I had chosen the box that records. The price went from free installation to $65.52 with locking me in for two years. The box arrives and it turns out my electrician tells me Direct TV should have set me up with a HD Box. It was not an option presented to me. After being on the phone for twenty minutes with a salesperson, I was told that I would have to pay $183.52 for a HD box and I would not get a credit for the $65.52. I was told I should have told the salesperson I needed a HD box. How would I know the box was not automatically a HD box if it was not presented to me as an option? On top of that I don't own the box, I am locked in for two years, won't get a credit for the first box and my monthly fees went from $8 a month to $24. Wow! Aren't these prices out of control for a fourth box? I decided to keep the original wrong box because I did not trust there was not another hidden fee or mistake on Direct TV's part that they were going to make me pay for. I will not have the luxury of HD TV after just buying a new TV. I am not happy.

Rec' flyer form Direct TV suggesting that we could watch over 7,000 shows & movies on demand for no extra charge. Well, everything I pulled up had a cost from $3,99 to $5.99. When I called customer service I was told that my "access" is free the shows are not. ...

Directv in Kansas City, Kansas - Direct TV tells me I had "Loyalty Status" - yea right

I call Direct TV because my bill keeps going up due to my plan changing (not sure how). Automated recording states "look online for all packages". Come to find out they don't list all online. I discuss canceling and am told that with my "loyalty status" they can give me a deal although the best advertised deal is only for new customers...wait a minute what about the loyalty status??? Eventually as I'm discussing going ahead and canceling I'm then told I'm leasing a non HD receiver and I'll need to send to them. Come to find out they want it back since I'm canceling or they bill me another $175. They are now sending packaging so I can ship them there old equipment...unbelievable.

I have also been told I am a loyal customer...hahah. I have leased two HD receivers and one HD DVR.

All have failed in the time I have had them. Even though I am paying a monthly lease on these things they charge me $19.95 to send out a refurbished unit. I really got pissed after our DVR went belly up so I called and complained about the worhtless equipment and chrages to my account every time one failed. I was told "Since I am such a loyal customer" I qualify for their latest technology HD DVR.

It is free but they want to charge me shipping and oh yea another 2 year contract. I will be changing pproviders in the very near future and will NEVER go back or reccomend DirectTV.

Directv in Houston, Texas - Direct TV cost me big bucks!!!

I had Direct TV disconnect the satellite dish. I complained several times because the technician tookt the cable, but he didn't caulk the area where he removed the dish. I have had a show leak to my new roof, and now I have sheetrock damage. I had an inspector come out and point out the leak where the screws are that Direct TV removed the cable. I have not had satellite since then. I will sue if no compensation is awarded. Please have someone contact me to resolve this issue; I will be looking up my notes on the conversation and removal of the satellite.

Good luck!! I own a rental property and called directv to have them remove several satellites they had installed without my permission.

I could not believe they would install equipment without an owners permission. Then they refused to remove it, "for liability issues". No *** there's liability issues!!!

They put holes in my roof. I hope you get better results than me.
