Directv in Warren, Ohio - Direct TV Moving Channel around

Yesterday I turned my TV on to Cloo only to realize it was not available. I called Direct TV and was told that it was moved to the Ultimate package (Im already paying $89 p.m.), and in order to get that channel I hve to upgrade at a charge of $10 per month. I told the rep that the customers should get a discount then because we entered into a contract with that channel included. I was told it would be worth only a few cents. When I wanted to add Sprout I was charged $5.00 extra p.m.

I contracted with Direct TV for 24 months ..for a package that included Cloo. If I cancel that contract prior to 24 months, Direct TV would consider it a Breach of Contract...and I would incur a penalty. How can Direct TV remove a channel I contracted for..... a set...

I absolutely agree with you. Directv does add channels to the original contract, but that is their decision, and we do not have to watch them.

To remove a channel, then ask us to now pay for it when it was included in our original contract, is just not good business. There are far too many options for television providers for Directv to behave in this cavilier manner and may also, as you pointed out, be in violation of their contract.

Directv harassing phone calls

On Jan 20, 2012, I cancelled Directv service. Over the next two days I received several phone calls from them agressively trying to convince me to renew their service. I told them I wasn't interested . Evidently they did not believe me. Since Jan 31 I have received at least 1 phone call per day. Never anyone on the line, just dead air. I called twice telling them to stop calling me - they are still calling. These calls have gone from annoying to harassment. What makes Directv think these tactics will win them customers. I would rather go without TV than do business with Directv again.

Good luck with that. I cancelled in Sept, 2011 and I'm still getting their telemarketing calls.

If you ask for an address to sent them a cease and desist letter they refuse and swear they are taking you off their calling list.

Good luck with that because they continue to call. Someone needs to step in and put a stop to their practices.

Directv in Cadillac, Michigan - Direct tv changes packages to make more money off it's Customers

We have been customers for 11 years, they took Cloo channel out of our package and want to charge us more to get it. When I called to complain, they could care less, they where rude and only cared about their money. Our equipment is old and out dated they want over $300 to up grade to HD. We already pay about $1200 a year for what I would call basic service, no movie channels and poor customer service. I spent 15 minutes talking to a customer service person, who finally said they were just a service tech and could not really help me. I was transferred to some one I was told could and would help. After 10-15 minutes more I was told they could not help me either.

Yeah this is ridiculous...

Before I signed up I made sure they had cloo. Their excuse is that they "in their contract state they can change it at any time"

I just had the same conversations with them. They didn't just take away cloo they took away boomarang and Sprout as well.

I am not happy we need to fight this. They are getting as bad as Dishnetwork.

DirecTV Scam when sending back equipment

After cancelling their service, they sent me a box to put the receiver/DVR and any other equipment owned by them to be returned to them. This box came with packaging tape and a mailing label. I followed all the instructions provided word by word and mailed it off to USPS as stated in the directions. Since I followed the directions precisely, I assumed that they would receive the equipment within that week. Now they are telling me that I own them $270 for it because the equipment was supposedly never received by them. They even sent me to collections so that it will hurt my credit if I don't pay them. The people at DirecTV are scam artists. I plan to spread the word on DirecTV so that everyone knows how much fraud they are committing at that corporation. If you plan to return equipment, make sure you get a signed confirmation from them or else they'll find a way to ***.

Directv in Chicago, Illinois - Direct TV also got into my bank account

I was call by a direct tv associate offering me a deal with at-t who sub contractedwith direct tv. I was b to get a package deal of fone-internet-tv for 123 a month.It souned real good. First month bill was for two-hundred dollars. I let that slide because I figured the insulation charges. The following months bill was 200 dllars again. I called them reminding them of the bundle price,so the told me to send only 97 dollars.Ok I figured they discovered their mistake.Well the following monts bill was for 265 dollars.Which then I told them I no longer needed their service.First I want you to understand,I am a 77 year ol retired woman trying to survive off 1060 dollars a month. I checked my bank account this am and discoved I was in the red by 200 dollars. these a---holes took almost 400 dollars from my account. So I am pissed. I dont know how I am going to eat the rest of the month. I don't have a spouse. '

Directv in Livingston, New Jersey - False rebate advertising

Friends rebate missing from bill i phoned and they will not give me the rebate now that i have the service and the first bill bad customer service beware they do not give you the rebates and you are stuck i was on the phone for over an hour and no one would take care of the issue. Someone should stop the false advertising i know there are laws that protect us but what is my next step i have only had the service 14 days and they want a 250.00 cancellation fee. They are crazy who can promise a customer something and then not give it to them. They advertise for new customers then treat them badly

I had the same problem. No one told me about rebate until I called them and questioned and they said I have to do a rebate which if I do after activation I will have to wait 6 to 8 weeks which is *** since there bill never mentioned after rebate.

Directv in Oranjestad, Aruba - Pissed with direct tv

I called direct tv to notify of pending suspension on account was informed that I must pay for month ahead of time before suspending account totally *** reply from company. I deceived to just cancel account after 12 hrs and go with another provider Poor company policy and customer service. When I told them I was canceling service via email they indicated that they would not accept cancellations by email but only by phone. (a used car sales gimmick). Being out of the country I refused and stated by email cancel. Finally after six days I got a email reply that account would be cancelled. But it toke five emails and horrible custo er service.
