Directv in San Antonio, Texas - No Truth in Sales/Customer service

I specifically asked when speaking with the sales person before ordering service, what happens if I should have to move and go to another location and their equipment and service is not allowed to be installed. Now I am finding out that is not true and looking at paying $380.00 to cancel service. Do not sign any long term contract with them, they will not honor what is said over the telephone. Have the sales person give you something in writing to your email account before accepting any installation or contract.. Customer service was not help in this situation.

Directv in Phoenix, Arizona - I cancelled Direct Tv service over one year ago. They are making me pay to have the dish removed.

I cancelled my service with Direct TV over one year ago. I have asked repeatedly to have the dish removed, and my asscoiation is fining me for it. They are now telling my that i own the dish, and must pay to have it removed. However if I decide to resume their service, vioia, my dish is still there. As if that is ever going to happen. They are a lousy, greedy company. I have called about this repeatedly, and you talk to a machine, wait on hold, and then they do nothing to help you. This si why I cancelled with them in the first place.

What a joke, went to upgrade one of there box's to HD . They said I had to signed a new contract for additional year .New contract, new customer no $ 100.00 no rebate .There is no information as far as another new contract for a upgrade on there DirectTV equipment lease agreement . I was on the phone with sale's rep for 15 minutes with her only to say this company policy . This is an unwritten law that would only srew the customer . Iwould never refer DirectTV to anybody . Can't wait until my contract is up .Never never again Iwill be a customer with DirectT . Dave Swiss.

I bundeled my derect tv with at&t was told I would get $20 off per month by doing this, I haven't got the $20 off, called and complained, was told my address were not the same, direct tv needs a physical address AT&T need a mailing address I have PO Box I changed the address on their webpage but it would not allow me,kept changing back, I called and explained Now there telling me there is no bundeling promotion, my contract states I have bundeling, they owe me $ 280, I've been fighting this for 14 months at the end of their contract they will owe me $480, I then will take them to small claims court.

Am already paying too much for too little-now they take channels away? wANT ME TO "UPGRADE" I don't think so. I'm SICK of infomercials, reality shows, shopping channels. I'm SICK of getting ripped off and I'm SICK of DIRECT TV!!!!!!!! My rates have gone up twice,now I'm getting less channels. I work rotating shift and late night TV really blows. Why should I pay to watch programs that they get payed to show? When they make an agreement they sould stick to it. I'm going to Dish. They may not be any better, but I wouln't be paying as much.

Directv failed to fix service

I have been a customer for Directv for 3 years. I have always paid the 5.99 a month for maintenance so if something went wrong they would fix it. Well today something went wrong. In total I have paid 252.00 to them for this service and never had to use it before. Now they said they can't come out to my home for over 48 hours. I paid the neighbor down the street to fix it for 50 bucks and had it fixed within a few minutes. Directv took 56 minutes on the phone the first time with me to tell me they couldn't get a technician out for over 48 hours. Then they took 25 minutes on the phone just to cancel the technician. They only reimbursed me 13 dollars. This is a service you do NOT want.

Direct tv is the worst 3 hours to try and fix my bill. Then they shut off one of my TVs I was never late in 8 years.this is the worst company ever.

Talk to a Joey 300085173 Rude.and his supervisor was no help.his name was Devin.

This is the worst service. Look for other services dish or cox has to be better....

Directv in Miami, Florida - Direct TV false advertising

Got a flyer in the Sunday Miami Herald that said: You deserve a deal this sweet, Now get a FREE UPGRADE for an entire year. Went on line, ordered an upgraded package, upgraded hardware. Went to close the deal and was told, "I am sorry, this is just for new accounts." It does not say that in the flyer. It is definately false advertisement for customer who have been with them over 15 years. This is totally unacceptible and I would hope that other long time users of Direct TV would register complaints. Nothing they can do will right this.

I am a customer with Direct TV in Baltimore Maryland and you set up service for me at one location and after a month at that location I had to move so I called and cancelled service at the last location and called for service to be set up at the location I had moved too.Unfortunately the technician couldn't give me service at the new location do to the satellite location. So what did your company do kept taking money out of my bank account for a whole year until I realized what was going on an had it stopped.How can a company like yours do this to a customer you have documentation of the tech coming out to the new location and couldn't give me service WHY STILL CHARGE ME YOU KNOW i DONT HAVE SERVICE. That's like stealing and should be against the law you owe me all my money back from the date your tech reports I couldn't get service. Directv in Washington, District Of Columbia - Direct TV charging elderly disconnect fee for two contracts

My Dad lost my mom last March and a couple months later he decided to sell his home and move in with me, his son. He called Direct TV, disconnected his service and paid the disconnect fee. This fee was over $300.00. Not even a month passed, he changed his mind for various reasons and moved back into his home. He called Direct TV and had his service restored. They made him sign a new 2 year contract and now he cannot live alone. He is back in my house and they want another disconnect fee of over $300.00. My Dad is over 80 years old and is having typical elderly issues. Not to make excuses for him but Direct TV telephone reps. would not even listen or respond to this question. I hope someone can help with a response. Question: How can a person be held accountable to pay disconnect fees on two contract at the same time? First contract was cancelled and paid the disconnect fee to fulfill the months in the first contract, he is now paying for the second contract disconnect fee which overlaps the first. Thanks for your time.

I don't believe I would pay the last disconnect charge or any other charges they may come up with..I'd close the account they have on file for your dad and change phone #'s if necessary.Just make sure you are not on the contract with them. What can they do?

Well if it was one time i could understand but i think that he should not of signed up for it again. I dont think theres anything that can be done.

Direct tv is awful, i would stay away from them. My aunt had problems when my grandma was put into a nursing home before she died, i think she finally got them to waive the price for my grandma since my grandma did have it 2 years they went and renewed the contract.

HE KNEW !!! You ALL knew about the early disconnect fee the first time around.

AND YOU SIGNED UP AGAIN.

This is totally your fault. DirecTV's policy is very straightforward; sign a contract, and follow your end of the contract.

So just pay the money, you asked for it.

Directv in Herndon, Virginia - Mislead consumers on performance of set top boxes. Over priced!

What direct tv doesn't tell you is that you need a static ip for their set top boxes to work correctly. I've had the service for 4 months and have had s many service calls, spending countless hours on the phone with them to trouble shoot BEFORE they will send out a tech! In addition, we ordered an additional box and since we didn't order it at time of install, we paid over $100 for the privilege to pay monthly to use it. After the tech left we realized it did not work with our multi room DVR, which doesn't work that well anyway, called DirectTV and they told us it would be another $100 to switch it out. What a rip off, and they have you in a contract so you can't do anything with out paying term penalties or hurting your credit! Basically I am underwhelmed with this company and will go back to the cable company as soon as I am able! Buyers beware!

DirectTV has your record on file and a list of equipment you have and they know or should have known the equipment the tech brought out would not work with you DVR.This is just another scam DirectTV has of making money off the customer
