i was a consumer of direct tv and now that i have cancelled, i was told that i would receive boxes to return my equipment and was told by agent that i would have two weeks to return it. well, just received my boxes and they have already charged me...will never do business with someone that says one thing and does another....very pissed off!!! their customer service "sucks", no resolution, not even after talking to a supervisor. was told that agent didn't know their policy....really!!!!....how about teaching them your policy before they start talking to clients!!!

An ad insert in Sunday's paper had cheap bundles offered. I called to take advantage of it in Owensboro Kentucky area. After my many questions...I decided to take advantage of the offer. After giving them social security # and debit card number....go figure...that service was not available to me. Now they have my fee for 5-7 days plus now I have an unnecessary inquiry on my credit file! So everyone beware...they will tell you anything to get that $19.95 plus tax for handling and delivery fee. any questions: email me at email@example.com.

After being initially solicited by a representative at Direct TV satellite services, I contracted for services at an initial price of approximately $34.00 per month. In order to take advantage of their promotional services I had to sign up that day, etc. At the point of sale, I directly asked if the same price applied to the 2 year contract. I was told yes. However, a year later, I came opened my bill from them to find a $89.00 bill! When I called to inquire, they told me that it was in my contract that the price would increase. When I asked for a copy of the contract with my signature, I was referred to write there legal dept and given the address for the office of the president as well. Of course, they were unable to supply me with a phone number. In reviewing my bill, I also noticed because I had elected to stop having them withdraw the payment directly from my checking account, Direct TV began charging me a increased fee for leased equipment to the tune of $10.00 per tv connection. As I voiced my complaints to more than one representative and a supervision, I was given a routine "I apologize" if you misunderstood. One person wanted to sell me additional movie channel services at a discounted rate. My reply was along the lines of why would I want to sign up for additional services when I have already been a victim of the "bait and switch" method of operation. A few of the representatives I have difficulty understanding their speech. Per inquiry, they confirmed that they operate call centers outside of the USA. I refuse to patronize a company to sends our jobs overseas and typically pays those folks a lower wage as well. In the final analysis I am opting to pay a 20.00 per month cancellation fee to rid myself of a 89.00 bill which at the point of sale, I was told would not increase. So, I guess it is a case of "Buyer Beware".
Directv in Norfolk, Virginia - Customer Service Is Horrible!
I was scheduled for Direct Tv to install my cable 2 days ago. The technician that came not only was supposed to be here at 12, he was rude. He showed up at 6 pm, with full intentions of not wanting to do his job. Over the phone he told me that i did not need a written agreement to get cable just a verbal one from my landlord. He not only got here and changed his story about me needing a written agreement, he complained about doing his job in the rain (drizzle). Which would have been understanding to me, but he had just told me 5 minutes before that he was trained to do his job in any type of whether and that the rain wouldn't be a problem. This technician was simply making each and every excuse to not do his job, even after i had waisted 6 hours of my day waiting on him missing my daughters play and work. So he rescheduled wit me for the next morning, i called to make sure of that i talked to an agent, his supervisor and directv supervisor, they all assured me that i was rescheduled for the next morning. I called the next morning (today) and the first agent assures me that i have a morning schedule and that they should be here before 12. It was 12:12 pm i called the next agent said i was scheduled for this after noon. 1 pm hits i call back to speak to a third agent she tells me i am not even scheduled for today, i get transferred to the supervisor, i wait on hold for 32 minutes and they hang up the phone. I then call back and an agent tells me that the earliest that i can reschedule is a week from now. This is simply ridiculous!! and not only were all of their agents on a different page and lied about everything their technician was rude!!!!! There is no good customer service anymore! Not only are they about to loose this customer, they will loose many more of my family and friends!!!!!!
Directv in Los Angeles, California - WORSED F*ING SERVICE EVER!!
So I check my account to find that direct tv took out there payment for the month which is all fine till I see the amount $248.00! I was pissed considering my normal monthy bill is usaully $80.00. So I call to find out wtf is going on and they say the reason the bill is so high is because the receiver in the living room sent some kind of signal to them showing we ordered UFC fights (three to be exact) in 2009! Are you kiding me 2009??!! It's 2012 why the f am I getting charged for something I did not order and why the *** are you charging me 3 years later!! I was told no refund would be made.. *** direct tv!!!!
Directv in Kansas City, Kansas - Installed a dish and cable on my rental house
My renter contacted Direct TV and ordered their service. They installed a dish on the new roof and ran cable down two sides of the building and attached it to the new siding I had just installed. The renter had no authorization to do this and neither did Direct TV. Trying to contact a person to talk to at Direct TV is impossible. I have emailed to no avail. I have called every number and do nothing but get the run around. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the person turned me over to someone else. After asking if she was a supervisor she said no. I hung up.

I have been a customer of dtv for 13years, I get my bill 2/2012, they are freaking billing me from 11/2005, I called went through the "broken english" cs, so called back and got a "superviser" but they wont do nothing, told me I have to write a letter to Louisville,Ky to request my '05 bills because they couldnt go back but 6mon, well if they can only go back 6mon how can they flippin charge me from nearly 7yrs ago. Wonder how many more peeps they have done this to, and how many accounts are getting cancelled over it.
I have had services with Direct Tv for aprox 16 years. Their service was getting so expensive that we couldn't afford it any more. We canceled it. As soon as we did they got into my bank just before christmas and took my christmas money! Almost $300.! They even...
Directv in Livingston, New Jersey - DirectTV - Death certificate on NON-ACCT HOLDER
DirectTV shut off service to 2 tv's and left one on, after "someone" sent them a copy of a death certificate on someone ELSE that died 4 months PRIOR to my step-mother, who was NEVER an account holder for DIRECTTV. They said it was the account holder (my dad), but would never read the name on the death certificate to me. The CR tried to deny it and said I misunderstood. After pressing her she said they did have a copy of a death certificate! Who is TROLLING for death certificates and giving them to DirectTV? They said today to send email thru their site, but that thing acts like it never send any msg. Tried at least 5 times.
Directv in El Paso, Texas - Direct tv ripoff?
Be very careful when dealing with direct tv. I was told that my rate would be around $30/mo and that there would be a slight increase after 1 year on a 2 year contract. Maybe it is a slight increase to Bill Gates, but it went to $80 per month. When I called to disconnect, I was told that there would be a disconnection fee that ammounted to $80/ month for the next 11 months, (until the 2 years ended). Now they refuse to send me a box to return THEIR equipment that conked out with 2 weeks left. I was told it would be deilvered promptly, and was also told that if the equipment does not get back to them by 2 weeks after contract expiration, I will be charged an additional fee between $200-$300 for failing to do so. I plan on returning to DirectTV as soon as Thomas Jefferson rises from the grave and asks, "what the heck are you doing to my country?"
