My husband and I signed up for Direct TV mostly for their NFL Sunday Ticket promotion since we are GB Packer fans living in Michigan. We did not have any other good tv offers in the area and went with them. Our installer was great. At the time we had a regular older tv...

DirecTV: avoid WHOLE HOME DVR SERVICE

I called DirecTv to order On Demand and ended up getting the Whole home HD-DVR system as well, what a mistake. First off I had 3 DVR's that could record 6 shows at one time and each had it's own hard drive on it, now I have 1 DVR that is connected to the other 2. That means I can record 2 shows at one time and have only one hard drive. WTF...who would switch to that? If I wanted to be able to watch the same the show in other rooms I could record it in those rooms as well. I also lost the ability to pause/rewind (THIS IS HUGE) live TV in the other 2 rooms and if my main TV is recording 2 shows I'm stuck watching one of them or I have to go to another room because you can't change channel. next month DirecTv will let you upgrade to Black and White TV!!!

Directv in Virginia Beach, Virginia - Not having/offering the Superbowl as well as Hockey games on channel 603 really stinks .

Now that Direct TV states it cannot work out a deal to show our local NBC and NBCSN channels here in New England I will be looking at ending my 18 plus years relationship (as well as tens of thousands of dollars I have paid to Dirct TV over those years). I as well as many New Englanders, especially sports minded clients will be opting out of Direct TV. This is completely a *** BUSINESS DEAL WHICH MIGHT HAVE COST SOME CHUMP CHANGE TO DIRECT TV TO NEGOTIATE A COMPRIMISE. I will never suggest Direct TV to anyone. In the past I have added many of my friends, co-workers and family to the Direct TV services. This will never happen again going forward. This business mistake will come back and haunt Direct TV. I really hope it "bites into the bottom line after the affected customers cancel your services".

Direct Tv has dealt senior citizens a bad blow. Direct is watched in the daytime by more Seniors than any other age group. Yet you have made the background of the quide impossilbe to read. Not only that have you thought of the people with sight problems. My husband...

Directv in High Point, North Carolina - Direct TV customer service sucks

The hard drive on my DVR crashed, so my TV will no work. They are replacing it, but they are shipping it to me and I have to replace it. In the mean time, no TV until they decide to ship me a new receiver, and then I have to intall it myself. Mean while there is a man who works for direct TV that lives on my block, but could he bring me a new one and replace it....NOOOOOO..... I did send them a note via there customer serviceless email, and got a nice pleasant, "that's just the way it is" response. Going back to Time Warner as soon as this *** contract is up.

DTV IS TERRIBLE!!! THERE HAD BEEN 2 DIFFERENT REPS - 1 TELLING ME I WOULD RECEIVE ALL NY STATIONS AND SPORTS

REP 2 TOLD ME NO I WOULD HAVE TO PETITION OR SOMETHING SIMILIAR TO GET NY STATIONS, THEN TOLD ME TO SWITCH TEAMS--LIONS?// THEY DIDNT WANT TO TAKE CARE OF THIS SITUTION AND WANTED TO STILL CHARGE ME.

OLD ADAGE YOU PAY FOR THIS AND THEY GIVE YOU THAT. VERY POOR CORPORATE MGMT AND SERVICE --WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM ON AT ALL.

Directv in Washington, District Of Columbia - Direct tv and the blackout for up coming Superbowl

Not happy about the blackout for the upcoming Superbowl! Direct tv better get this solved or they will face the worse back lash in consumer history! I personally will drop them like yesterdays news if i miss the game. Just think how many others will as well. They will become a thing of the past ! This is the Super bowl , what are they thinking????? Mass, New york, NH, just to name locally that I know that are the biggest and toughest fans! The bars, the restaurants. that air the game will loose money! To have the FCC step in should send a louder message!

You can only help them by dropping your service. You signed the contract for 2 years and they will get their money from you. The only difference, is you won't be watching any TV while you pay for it, LOL.

YOU WILL FACE THE WORSE BACK LASH IN CONSUMER HISTORY. I too will drop you so quick ( despite the fact I just signed a new two year contract)if the Super Bowl is not televised. I believe you have already done irreversible damage to your business and have until this Sunday to keep the ship afloat in New England.

Directv makes a used car salesman seem honest

I switched last year because I was sick of Comcast and their BS...one year later all I can say is that if I ran my business the same way as these two at best I'd be out of business. The first thing you might notice is that you will pay a fee for HD programming as well as a fee for HD access and a fee for HD boxes. You will then notice that the package you have contains a whole bunch of channels that can be described as nothing but *** - shopping channels, dozens of Spanish channels, and religious channels galore. Want to watch all the sports that they promise you? - Fee Want to watch CBS in another time zone? - Nope Buy the NBA package to watch local team - blackout Want to watch a movie? - Pay per view Want to watch HBO or Showtime? Add that package Want to watch all the Disney channels - need to upgrade your package You get the point, it's a sham.

I find your comment ignorant when you say Spanish Channels are ***. Millions of people in the US watch spanish channels all the time.

Get out while you can. Don't ever accept or upgrade to a new receiver or your contract will extend 2 years without you signing anything !

But once the contract is active, they can and will get that $ from you.

And if you cancel early, they can and will charge you several hundred dollars for the cancellation. Then another few hundred for the equipment.

DirecTV SUCKS, their customer service is retarded. I once called in to cancel a football package (that I never ordered???) and they removed the football package and signed me up for the Playboy channel! I noticed immediately because I was looking at my online billing while they were making the changes on the phone.

So I called back and had to get a manager to remove the newly added Playboy channel. He offered nothing but his apologies.

I sign up with DirectTV in August and have learned a valuable lesson. First I signed up for a $35.00 package, but I had to call in to make the discount perminent, which I did. The they gave me a movie package which I told them at the time I did not want or need, but...

check your bank account! and if DirectTV has not taken money from your account, talk to your bank and change account #'s so DTV cannot get to your money. If they have a credit card on file for you change the # or close the account before they place a huge charge.

if you paid a deposit, you will probably not get this back. DirectTv runs a scam in offering low prices then almost no one qualifies for the lower prices and they know this.

Directv "Non-return fee"

Directv decided to charge me for the directv equipment being returned in the mail. They allow 21 days to return the equipment but that time starts before they even ship you the directv boxes required to return the equipment. They would not budge one inch for a "loyal customer" their words during my arguement with them..... They will refund the money up to 10 days after "they" recieve the equipment.....my problem is that visa wont dispute the charge until 15 days after Directv receives the equipment....so with all these protection the presidents new czars are supposed to give consumers why are we still the ones being second guessed over the merchants???
