Directv makes a used car salesman seem honest
I switched last year because I was sick of Comcast and their BS...one year later all I can say is that if I ran my business the same way as these two at best I'd be out of business. The first thing you might notice is that you will pay a fee for HD programming as well as a fee for HD access and a fee for HD boxes. You will then notice that the package you have contains a whole bunch of channels that can be described as nothing but *** - shopping channels, dozens of Spanish channels, and religious channels galore. Want to watch all the sports that they promise you? - Fee Want to watch CBS in another time zone? - Nope Buy the NBA package to watch local team - blackout Want to watch a movie? - Pay per view Want to watch HBO or Showtime? Add that package Want to watch all the Disney channels - need to upgrade your package You get the point, it's a sham.
I sign up with DirectTV in August and have learned a valuable lesson. First I signed up for a $35.00 package, but I had to call in to make the discount perminent, which I did. The they gave me a movie package which I told them at the time I did not want or need, but...
Directv "Non-return fee"
Directv decided to charge me for the directv equipment being returned in the mail. They allow 21 days to return the equipment but that time starts before they even ship you the directv boxes required to return the equipment. They would not budge one inch for a "loyal customer" their words during my arguement with them..... They will refund the money up to 10 days after "they" recieve the equipment.....my problem is that visa wont dispute the charge until 15 days after Directv receives the equipment....so with all these protection the presidents new czars are supposed to give consumers why are we still the ones being second guessed over the merchants??? About a month ago I ordered a Pay Per View Fight with Directv. I was using a mobile phone app to do so and accidentally charged the fight to my wrong card. That card had some checks written from the same account that would result in overdraw penalties from my bank. I immediately called Directv and explained what happened and said I wanted to cancel the PPV and reorder using a different card. Initially they told me it would take 2 weeks to refund the money to my card. I told them that was unacceptable. After some back and fourth I was transferred to someone who told me he could return the funds immediately however it may take a few days for my bank to process the refund. This was on December 30th. About a week and a half pass and I notice my account is in fact overdrawn. So I call Directv and was told that the refund request was never made, it would be resubmitted and would now take 10 business days to process. Despite the fact that this was their mistake Directv made no effort to move this forward faster. I was told that the money would be returned on Friday the 20th of January. So Friday the 20th comes around and guess what, no refund yet. So I call Directv again, this time I am told that the refund process takes 30 days!!!!! I get upset and ask for a supervisor. The supervisor tells me it is 10 days not 30 days and the money will be in my account on Monday the 23rd of January. Monday comes around and guess what? Still no refund. So I call Directv, this time I am told that the refund has been made and my bank must be just processing the refund. I file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Within a day I get a call from someone from the President's Office. Where I am explained that I will not be receiving the refund at all. They offered to cover the bank overdraft fees with a bill credit. However, that is not what was negotiated in good faith with previous Directv employees, it doesn't change the fact that I was lied to over and over again, and it in no way compensates me for the time I wasted dealing with Directv on 5 or 6 separate occasions because I was continually lied to.

This is nothing more than corporate fat *** trying to get rich.Shut the channels down and hold us hostage.Are you kidding me the superbowl and we cant watch it.Looking for a good lawyer to file a class action suit.We all should be allowed to opt out of our contracts for failure to provide services.These channels need to be on until an agreement is reached by both parties.We pay for our contracts or are penalized .Why is corprate not held to the same standards.The clock is ticking/it takes two to argue and two to compromise.Both sides are at fault and will both lose in the end. Directv in Montreal, Quebec - Satellite Direct has no channels due to HLS
I still own Satellite Direct and it really sucks there is nothing on. The reason for that is they got there feed from Justin TV is has been shutdown by Home Land Security and the feds! See Justin Tv site closed>>>>>>>> http://www.atdhe.net/ And that is why there is nothing on and there never will be, because that is what Satellite Direct does is lie and there is no support. Good luck on getting your money back and never install it on more than one computer at a time, also if you change computers, Satellite Direct takes that a second computer and will close your account on you and now for the trouble is getting Satellite Direct support??? To turn it back on, and that took me 3 months of emailing, clickbank, Satellite Direct every department for 3 months and really helped nothing because Homeland Security Has shutdown Justin TV, the main feed for all the good channels, but that 3500+ is a big lie! Directv in Los Angeles, California - Buyer beware!
Contacted DTV about bundle offer over holiday. The salesperson (thick accent) coned me into buying a package that didn't exist, and failed miserably setting up my installation costing me more money. I was promised HBO & NFL with my mid-range bundle package as well as comparable internet connection to what I had. The 'Choice Extra' package I ordered, of course did not include HBO or NFL. But I bought it because I was specifically told it would be apart of the package after the 3 month promotion of all premium channels had expired. I also didn't find out, until the dish was being installed on my roof, that an additional appointment was required to install AT&T phone lines & DSL Internet. These would replace all of my current Time Warner Cable Bundle items. When I asked the Dish installer where & when he would instal the phone & internet he replied that he didn't do that. That's when I called DTV customer service and went into a tailspin of 'juking' by customer service people passing me along to 'the right person' over a period of 4 hours on the phone. All this combined to cost me service on two bundle contracts in the same month, erasing any savings I hoped to make. I also don't have the service I thought I was getting (granted the sales person I got was most likely the problem & not the company). I then had to do the salesperson's job & schedule an appointment with AT&T on my own. I also found out the internet part of the package was of lower quality than what my 'Cable Internet' from TWC was supplying. So I ended up keeping TWC's internet, and a partial bundle from DTV including the AT&T land line (AT&T was owned by Direct TV). I ended up paying an extra $100 for 3 weekends of NFL to see the end of regulation where it wasn't 'blacked out' (another idiosyncrasy I wasn't made aware of in the initial sales call). So, "let the buyer beware" would be the words of the day. Know what you're buying and that it may not be what you get (even from a supposed reputable company). FYI; I still have this package and ultimately am enjoying DTV television much more than my old Time Warner Cable package. It may be costing me a slight amount more but it's worth it on a straight trade. Good luck!

when do we get channel 56 back wliv.? it says a short time its been a week. wonder if we are going to get money off our bill for not being able to watch what we pay for.? VELMA-RUSSIN. dont know what else to say just give me the channels i pay you for missing the good showes that should be on channel 56 damm it.i dont want any phone calls about this either i just want what i pay for hope others are writing about this also ill be waiting for my channel 56 to come back on soon like to-morrow would be nice

Direct TV is the worst company I have ever worked with!!! I was forced to connect with them when I moved into my new apartment and it took me 3 days to cancel!! Their people are rude, not willing to help, and disrespectful! I have had nothing but issues. They charged me 500 dollars to cancel-- then when they didnt charge my account they turned me in to collections. Their customer service folks called me and then hung up on me, then when i called the corportate office they shrugged it off like it was my fault--what happened to the customer is always right. I will go with out any type of TV before I would ever become a customer of theirs!!!!!!!!!!!
Directv in Grants Pass, Oregon - No HD on my local chanel's
Why is there NO HD on my local chanel's ?? I have been a customer since 1995 and like some explanation on why not. Your competition broadcasts in HD. Do I need to cancel Direct Tv and go with your competion ?? Why can't we receive, NBC, East or West chanel's 392 & 393, so I can watch tne Superbowl in HD ?? Please respond. receiver # 0289 0064 4049, card # 0022 0628 6607. I have spoken with all local chanel people and they all responded that it is a, "Direct TV", problem not providing High Definition broadcast's. Thank You and again please respond to this E-Mail.
