Carolyn was probably not her real name,they use phoney names.You said you have not been a customer with them for 2 months? did your contract expire?If not and you simply stopped paying, You might want to change the numbers on the card or bank information they have on file for you as it may have just been a number off and a mistake that they will find and succesfully charge your account

We have Visa-and I got proof that they considered the matter to be final (from Directv). Plus after all the stink I raised over the guttering damage and the trash he left behind, and the fact that we only had service for a few days, they told me they would not charge any extra fees for disconnect and would refund the charges on our card. I think the next step is to have a gutter/roofing company come estimate the damages they caused when installing their equipment.

Directv in Beaumont, Texas - Index color

Changing the index screen to black. It's had to read from a distance. You did not take into consideration of those with poor sight. Blue was just fine. Change some times is not the best interest to the customer. If it is not broke don't try and fix it. You know the Japanees did not change the cars or products they took what we had and improved it many times over. The chineese are using the price feature to attract business. and they are goog a good job. Why hasn't Direct TV done the same to improve.

My billing has been WRONG for over a YEAR NOW!!.You call and talk to someone from Direct TV and PRIMECAST and they never can get the BILLING CORRECT.You call back and that PERSON does'nt work here. YOU ADVERTISE THAT "WE'RE LISTENING & OUR EAR ARE WIDE OPEN I NEED HELP WITH MY BILLING MR PRESIDENT OF DIRECT TV & PRIMECAST!! DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CARD!!! They over charged me for 212$ and i have been on the phone for a month now and no refund...

I am on hold now to find out where my refund is and its been an hour... When you press pay your bill it goes straight thru, when you press 2 it puts you on forever hold.

Strick..You Might want to watch your bank account or credit card whichever they have on file for early cancellation fees since their contract is for 24 months.Also when you return their equipment get a tracking # to prove they got the equipment otherwise DTV will most likely try to charge you for that also. The only way to avoid them charging your account is to close the account or change the # unless you paid a deposit,which they will keep.

I hear you Dave D!!

I was with them for 18 months and the accounting was a mess from the start.

Finally quit paying them and they cut off service 1/11/12.

I don't think your will get any relief and soon the pleasure of the service will be outweighed by the monthly hassle over the bill!

Direct tv made a deal with us setting up a certain monthly price for certain services. They promised not to change the price no matter what. Multiple customer service reps. did this. But... every month the bill was higher by $15. Each month increased. Now they are giving lates fees and trying to suspend service because we will not pay the wrongly owed amount. They are cheats and liars and should be put out of business. To get out of the agreement that we are trying to uphold, we will have to pay all the fees and the fee to discontinue the contract, totalling around $400. Terrible!

DirecTv tries to extend contract

I would like to warn existing Directv customers of what happened when i cancelled. I had a set cancellation date of 1/21 made on 01/07. On 1/11 i received a call from customer retention. The representative offered me free premium movie channels until my cancellation date. My first reaction was Ok, but I asked questions. The answers were not good. As it turns out, if i had accepted my cancellation would have been voided and billing charges would have continued until i called and set a new cancellation date. In short, if you cancel Directv, be careful and ask questions. They will call multiple times with offers that will cancel your cancellation.

They don't "try" to extend your contract. You must do something in order for that to happen.

Read your agreements and contracts.

They apply to you. At all times.

DONT DO IT!!! The glossy ads that they send you sound like you will save a ton of money, but you won't. Customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with and I am frustrated that there are lots of charges on our bill that we did not agree to. Sending letter to legal department and office of president to complain, but know I won't get anywhere. They sent us lots of emails after we signed up, but they claim that these emails about raising our rates are binding--how is that. Advertisement advertises free HD, but they don't agree. If you have the option, stay with cable.

I purchased direct tv for 59.99 first year per month, and 79.99 2nd year per month, we are in month four of our first year, thus it should be 59.99, recieved a bill in the mail for 207 dollars today. they have hidden fees and what not, the whole setup is complicated and quite time consuming. life is hard enough , tv is for relaxing not raising your blood pressure, i would personally not recommend this company to anyone. Misleading advertising plus a pain in the *** to set up. Just warning any potential customers and current ones, watch your back.

I read somewhere that you can no longer sue them in court,supposedly it is in "the contract" but you can certainly ask for the matter to be settled in arbitration if you disagree with the amount DTV is charging you.You also have the right to file a statement on your credit report explaining your side and with DirectTV's reputation I doubt that anyone would take anything they say seriously but they can damage your credit if you do not file a statement.

Direct tv is a joke! We cancelled our service when the contract ran out and then they bill us for over $200, saying we did not fulfill our contract.

We had the original contract transferred from CA to FL and made sure that was exactly what we were doing, before doing it. Well, they informed us that they did a "new" contract when we moved from one state to another. Filed a complaint with the BBB, and not surprisingly they have LOADS of complaints of this "scam"! They are horrible.

I refused to pay and told them I would take it as high as I possibly could if they gave us a bad credit rating. No adverse reporting on our credit. I was going to fight to the bitter end on this one.

They have been fined by congress for bad practices. They should be shut down!!!

Directv in East Moline, Illinois - Was able to stream live news but now not.

set-up an account to steam live news to my computer.It was working fine for awhile but now an error is shown saying server has not sent info and to contact server.After calling direct tv to trouble shoot ,they could not find a reason why i was not getting a feed.They said they would make a note of it but it has been weeks and the problem has not been corrected.I would at least like an update assuring me that you are working on the problem.Thank you for your time and i hope to hear from you soon that the problem has been resolved.
