Directv in Cumming, Georgia - Spanish subtitles on chanel 5
Spanish subtitles appear on Chanel 5 during NFL football games but not on any other channel or during any other shows or sports events. The subtitles do not display on the commercials advertisements during the football games which the subtitles are being displayed.. They also appear across the top the TV screen obstructing the view of the game. The text is large and in white lettering. I have tried everything I know to remove these subtitles and have been unsuccessful. I have requested assistance from Direct TV and have been ignored. How do I remove these subtitles from NFL football games?
Directv in Englewood, Colorado - Direct tv has removed my local Massachusetts channels, given me NY locals
I am a resident of Massachusetts and a customer of Direct TV for many years. Early on I was told that the FCC regulated the locals stations and I would only be able to receive stations from Albany, NY. About a year ago I had to upgrade to HD because they told us local stations could only be received through an HD receiver from the appropriate satellite. At that time we were receiving local Massachusetts stations from Springfield. Tonight we lost all local channels and when we spoke to the Direct TV rep and supervisor, we were told we needed another upgrade to receive local Albany,Ny stations. Now why would we want to see local news from another state. This is so absurd....If you lived in NYC would you want to listen to the local news from Boston?Direct TV has manipulated us too many times and charged us more money for service that we do not want.

I had a a ending balance of 135.55 for the month of December and I was going to pay the ending balance on 12-28-2011 but a Directtv representative advised I could wait until 01-6-2012 (pay day) and pay and suspend my account on this day without penalties. But when I went to go pay my account they insisted I pay 270.00 before they would suspend my account ! Now they say OK we will suspend your account and you can pay the 135.55 but we will take you to collections for the rest !! This is garbage the representative I spoke to on 12-28 should have told my bill would at least double and it would be wiser to pay it on 12-28-11. I am going up the food chain and keep complaining. Now on hold and no return phone calls. GREAT SERVICE NOT

Direct tv took 250 dollars out of my account without my approval and I didn't owe them anything. They charged me for 4 months after I canceled them. Now I'm being charged penalty fees and they say I can get refunded for 30 days. I want my refund now cuz talks screw up has put me in a financial bind. Now the money I had in the bank to pay my bills is gone and now I have to use my paycheck to fix talks mistake and get be hind on my bills. I'm not satisfied with direct tv at all I'll go with dish network or uverse next time.

Signed a 2-year contract via Costco for Directv. At first, major problems w/installation. But with Costsco's well-deserved reputation for integrity, Directv made things right. Now, coming up on second year, and there is a price increase. OK; was anticipated. Also, since needs have changed, want to change packages. Spent 1.5 hours on the phone being passed around, given conflicting information about what they would involve and what it would cost, to be ultimately handed of to an exceeedingly rude individual with a Russian accent, who was the personification of arrogance. Would not investigate the fact that am still entitled to a second-year, but smaller rebate. Guess he figures it's my job to ensure customer satisfaction. Needless to say, I am furious. Have already spoken to 6 individuals, only to end up with absolutely no satisfaction. Management has largely rendered its Customer Service department impotent, in that it has little or no power to make things right. Add to that, an arrogant respresentative and its a sure-fire recipe for one customer who is now counting the days 'til she can dump Directv and switch to another provider. These recent experiences w/Directv have only shown that they have NO interest whatsoever in customer satisfaction or retention. Shame on them. I am through fightng this battle; however, I will be making it known to Costco loud and clear. They GENUINELY care about customer satisfaction, in that they walk the walk; not just talk the talk as I've ufortunately found others to do. My advice: no matter how good the deal sounds, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT sign a 2-year contract w/Directv. It isn't worth the aggravation--or the money!!!

directtv took a large amount of money from my account without my permission or knowledge until i checked my bank statement. this is after many complaints and questions about my account with them. they never corrected or changed anything. finally in utter frustration i stopped paying my bill. they demanded the return of their equipment, which was returned, but they took the cost of the equipment from my account.now i am thoroughly pissed off. i believe my money should be returned but here is no chance of that since service had been disconnected . no company should be allowed to directly withdraw money from your account without permission or knowledge!!!

i was flat out lied to my direct tv staff.. i had direct tv come out and unhook comcast line and put all direct tv and dish up for me cause i was told i would be able to get the movies i asked for. now that it is in. ( i dont get ***! that i ask for and was promised. ) what kind of fu----g company are you operating. bunch of *** liers is what i see.. and now you dont want it brought out ./ if not,, i guess i can put in on channel 7 news ok

I RETIRED JUNE 4, 2010 AND STARTED VACATION AFTER 30 YEARS OF WORK WITHOUT A VACATION. I'M A DIRECT TV SUBSCRIBER. DIRECT TV STATED THAT WHEN I STOP TRAVELING, I COULD RESTART MY SERVICE IF IT WAS WITHIN 6 MONTHS, AND I WOULD RECEIVE THE SAME TV PROGRAMING, WHICH I ELECTED TO DO. THE PROBLEM IS I DO NOT HAVE THE SAME PROGRAMING: NO (ABC,CBS,NBC,AND FOX SPORTS) I HAVE TOLD THEM WHEN I GET MY REGULAR CHANNELS I'LL PAY MY BILL. NOW THEY DISCONTINUED MY SERVICE!! DIRECT TV HAS FORGOT WHO MADE THEM BIG, WE THE PEOPLE. IF THE THINK FOR ONE MINUT THIS IS GOING TO DISRUPT MY LIFE THEY ARE IN FOR A BIG SUPRISE. I'M GOING TO GIVE THEM FREE ADVERTISEMENTIN THE FORM OF A BANNER I'M ATTACHING TO MY TRUCK.

Direct TV added NFL Sunday ticket t my account without my knowledge,when i noticed it on my bill phoned and asked why,they said "it automaticly renews" that is funny,i just started with thm in May and had never had Direct TV so how does something automaticly renew that you never had?However they asked if i wanted it without an appology,i said no,"ok we will remove it" Next month new bill stil on account,called again,said they would remove,next month new bill stil be charged and servic stil not removed,then service as interupted.So after all this un-professional service from a billion dollar Co. I had to call and spend an hour on the phone with a" customer service supervisor" she had the service restored,i asked her to not bill thru AT&T but send my direct Tv bill straight to me from there so called "company",In december i got a bill from direct tv and one from AT&T as requested,afetr an HOUR on the phone".Next month bill is delivered from AT&T and has Direct TV charges on it.After spending an hour on the phone and the other repetative calls to this company it is sad they can not just deliver the service you order and pay for every month.I consider this "harrasment" I do not work for the company and do not wish to spend my time calling them to correct what i am already paying them for,which is basic customer consideration and service,seems when jobs are hard to find people would actualy care about there efforts and performance,but when all you do is sit and answer phones"Thank you for Calling Direct TV,how may i assist you" it is nothing ut words to get you off the phone,I guess if they got paid for completing there customer service task instead of hourly consumers wouldn't get the the pleasure of calling.

I have been a customer of Direct TV for only 3 months now and have not had one good experience with their customer service. Currently I am sitting on hold for the last 30+ minutes just to cancel a free trial of premium movie channels. There is an option online in your account to remove these channels yourself but when you press the button it tells you to call customer service to cancel. Why so you can talk to a salesman that is trained to get you to keep all the stuff you don't want to pay for? What about all this "choice" talk Direct TV?? Don't feel like I have much "freedom" at all with your service. This all stems from the first time I called them to set up installation. I set up a bundle package with them for TV, phone, and internet. They said that Frontier was the available service for phone and internet in my area and that they offer a bundle with them. Everything was set up and I was given installation dates for both Direct and Frontier from a customer service representative. A week later Direct TV came out to install TV service and that went OK (besides all the coax cable ran on the outside of my home). Frontier was a no show on their scheduled install date. I call Direct TV and this customer service rep says that they are having problems sending out work orders to Frontier. She gave me my phone number associated with my account and said to call Frontier and figure it out with them. Isn't that her job?? She also told me that if I just set up a new order with Frontier and got a confirmation number I could just call back and give it to Direct TV for proper credit on my bundle. So I took the phone number and called Frontier who then told me they had no way to cross reference that phone number their system. So I call back Direct and talk to a different customer service rep who tells me that somebody didn't get the memo and Direct TV no longer bundles with Frontier?? WTF? After it was all said and done Direct TV bundles with nobody in my area so I had to shop around and find the best deal. From now on I get names and numbers of each customer service rep I talk to and that shouldn't be the way I have to handle it.
