Directv in Greenwood, South Carolina - Direct TV Charges $300.00 to Move Service
I have had direct telesion services for two months shy of a whole year. We recently moved and I called to move the services to the new location and was told that since I had not been a costumer for an entire you that it would cost me $300 just to move the service plus the monthly bill that was about to come due. I told them to cancel the service and they still have not done so. I refuse to pay for services I am not recieving. This is a bunch of ***. It seems to me if you are a good customer and kept you bill paid that they would be willing to move your service with little or no charge.

I have contacted the customer serivces number on several occasions and have received lots of different. Information about my account. Also with speaking to supervisors. I have never received a bill or anything from this company and my billing preference is by mail. My last contact to the company was horrible they did not have my correct address on file after each time I've called they have verified that info they also let me know that there was nothin about my bill that they could do I am susposed to have on my account a credit of 63.65 because I paid the bill in full after a disconnection on 11/17/11 of 145.26 and that my monthly bill would be 51.48 they stated to me that the credit was used to pay for the partial bill for Nov in the amount of 35.22 and 9.63 for Nov 4 to the 6th. How is that when my bill was pd in full there should not be a bill but in that same call I was told that my bill was 83.48 and I was getting all these rebates that are making my bill the amoint that it was this is not good cust service someone needs to be held accountable for this info I also work for cust service and if we did not send a cust service a statement then we would be finned because the FDIC will hold us accountable for that and the lack of info from the cust servive reps are not properly trained to know how to assist the cust I received 7 different billing amounts in one day from 4 reps and 2 supervisors. Directv in Washington, District Of Columbia - Direct TV inept, misleading
I switched from Dish to Direct TV because of the NFL package but ended up giving up DVR capabilities on all the TVs. Direct TV offers "Whole Home DVR" - whatever that means - because not all your TVs will have DVR capabilities. The TV with the DVR can record shows and pause live TV. But the TVs with only a receiver can only pause recorded media - they cannot pause live TV. Understand that! You cannot pause live TV on TVs that do not have a DVR. With Dish you can. Also the additional TVs must have an HD receiver. The standard receivers offer zero DVR capabilities. It is such a bummer to be watching live TV and not be able to pause it. This is the beauty - the genious - of DVR. I wish I had known this before I had switched.

OMG!!! I have had problems with direct tv ever since the first day I begun service. Direct tv has told lies from day one. They throw rocks and hide their hands. First day, the tech came out to install service, everything they told me on the phone was a flat out lie! I was suppose to get service in a second room for no charge, LIE! I called while the guy was there and went through six different ppl and got no *** where. I had the reps name and id # that set everything up over the phone, they still did nothing. Second lie, they said the guy did not put two rooms in the computer and I would have to pay an additional 100 bucks gor the second room. Third lie, they were advertising up to 3 rooms free. I got so upset that I lost my religion and cussed the badyards out over the phone. The tech started telling me how direct always do stuff like that and how he was looking for another job. I had the service installed because they told me if I canceled how I will still hv to pay for breaking the contract which I never signed because it wad set up over the phone. I recently moved and had to get service at the new location. I was lied to again. They told me my moving fee was 99 dollars and would be billed in installments. First billed has the full amount on it. I just paid a 200 dollar installalation fee 8 months ago, and now i'm being charged again after I was told that moving was free in the first yr as long as I had all my equipment minus the dish. Direct tv is the worse, I told them after this contract is over, they can kiss my a..,in those exact words!

Their packages are the worst for the money you pay. They advertise free moving and now they want to charge me $150.00! amazing! they are the worst...Their customer services bad, they want to get as a client they offer what they can not give you. I will hire a laywer to dispute the 150.00 to move, they promised me no charge at all, i told them i was moving in the next 6 months. I will post this at facebook and twitter. everyone needs to know who is Direct TV. people dont hire them. bad bad bad
Directv in Denver, Colorado - 4 NO SHOWS To install service
DIRECT TV scheduled me to have service installed 4 separate times Each time they DID NOT SHOW UP, DID NOT CALL.I called Century LINK for a bundled package.They scheduled an install for my new TV service for Friday. 1st NO SHOW NO CALL How Rude!!!I MISSED 1 day of work. After spending about an hour from one department to another,It was rescheduled for the following Tuesday. 2nd NO SHOW NO CALL.I missed 2 Days of work. Once again, after over an hour on the phone with DIRECT TV and CENTURY LINK, It was rescheduled for Thursday. Once again I *** work. 3rd NO SHOW NO CALL.3 days off work no pay. Once again, after over an hour on the phone with DIRECT TV and CENTURY LINK, It was rescheduled for Saturday. Once again I *** work. 4th DAY NO SHOW NO CALL.4 days of missing work. Once again, after over an hour on the phone with DIRECT TV and CENTURY LINK, It was rescheduled for next Wednesday. Once again I have to *** work. 5th DAY OF NO WORK NO PAY I don't know, if anybody but me thinks they will show up this time? They were SO GENEROUS, after I insisted on some compensation for my soon to be five days of missing work. WOW a whole FIFTY DOLLARS for FIVE DAYS of missing work. I'm RICH... THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH. Unfortunately I had no choice but to use them.

I recently moved I called to set it up and explained I needed to have the dish mounted on a pole I was told my move was free bc I was a valued customer...untill the technician came and told me I needed to pay him 80 dollars. I called and told them I hadn't been told any of that I had to ask for a manager 5 times before they let me talk to one who then told me that they required to tell me what's covered in the free and the extra work isn't I told them no one said any of that she pretty much told me she didn't care it was nt her problem and wouldn't help me she also didn't care that I had to ask 5 times for a manger her response was I wasn't available but I am now...#1 in customer service you must be kidding
DirecTV not in HD as advertised
Do the following when watching SyiFi on DirecTV. When DirecTV shrinks the picture size (not full screen) display the resolution using your TV controls. You may find it not 1080 or even 720 but 480 which I do not consider anything close to HD. Yet SyiFi on the website is shown as HD. My slow DSL appears better than this! Call and complain or as I did simply cancel service! Just as another thought when viewing a recent series on DVD display the length of the show and compare it to the broadcast length of time. The amount of time devoted to advertising is far to high to pay for viewing. Pay TV with advertising is a waste of money!
Directv in Clarksdale, Mississippi - Direct TV horrible customer service
I paid my DTV bill online, like usual. I received a confirmation number and email verification. When I rectified my bank statement I saw the payment did not clear. I checked my DTV account online I saw that I had a past due balance. I called the customer service number and spoke with a representative who said it was declined but could not explain why (there was plenty of money in the account, and my bank never showed an attempt to clear a charge). When I asked her if she could take the payment over the phone she said she would have to charge me a $5 fee to take the payment directly or that I was welcomed to log back on to their website and submit it online. When I asked why she would make me pay a fee to clear up a problem, she defended it as policy. Now, I didn't want to go back and make this payment online not because I wanted to be a *** (although I was becoming increasingly irritated at having to waste my time researching this online, calling them, and now arguing about fixing the problem) but because I wanted immediate and sure resolution to this. I asked to complain to someone about what I considered to be poor customer service she sent me to her supervisor, Todd, who was equally un-apologetic and stood hard on the "policy" defense line. When I told him he could defend policy all day but he couldn't defend that it was terrible customer service to argue with people instead of trying to correct the problem he finally, reluctantly agreed to take my payment without the fee. Sorry DTV. This is not the way to create loyalty among customers! I'm not angry because mistakes happened will processing my payment. I'm angry for having to argue with your reps on the phone. My service agreement is up with DTV in about 3 months and I WILL find another provider.
Directv in Livingston, New Jersey - Misleading advertisement Bad info
I ordered whole home DVR with the advertisement to be able to watch recorded programs in all rooms. Well, not the non-hd receiver . I found out the hard way as it was not informed initially. When i call to complain DirectTV said I would have to pay $160 for the HD receiver if I want to upgrade. Had I knew about the unavailable function I would have ordered the hd receiver which was about $70 then. That was a scam advertisement. I want to bring them to court but do not have time for court days. Hope someone has time and sue them.
