Directv in Atlanta, Georgia - Bundling problems with direct tv & at&t

I got a 2 yr agreement with direct tv & at&t to have dsl internet and choice xtra bundled together for a certain price. That was 6 months ago and I have not seen it yet. So far, I am paying twice the quoted price. When I contacted direct tv, I was first told that I did not have a bundling agreement and was not eligible for one. When I spoke with the next rep, I was told that they were waiting on at&t to respond to the opt-in request. I was told to call at&t and speak with an integrated service specialist. When I called at&t.. they told me that there was no such person and that I should contact direct tv and not them. During these economic times, I cannot afford to continue to pay at these rates. They can come get their *** and screw the contract. They can't get what I haven't got.

We are looking for a more economical media company (currently have phone/internet/cable bundled) as costs have steadily increased and our income has decreased. I have seen numerous ads for Direct TV, so I thought I'd find out more about it. I spent all day...

Thank you SO much for this review. I've had just terrible problems with Charter Cable, bundled, and got an ad in the mail for DirecTv.

After reading what--and very many others--have said, I'm going to run in the other direction. At least Charter gets someone out withing 24 hours.

Directv in Columbia, Missouri - Direct TV - terrible customer service!!!

November 10, 2011 - 10:30 am - Do not use direct tv!!! Customer service is terrible! Nothing like being on hold for 30 minutes and have someone treat you like an *** and act like YOU are wasting THEIR time when you're the one offering them money! Thanks a lot supervisor Erica (learn some manners!!)I called to find out about switching over to their service from our current cable provider since we are moving this week, and the service representative refused to give many information about their average rates beyond what was listed on their promotional offer unless I gave him all of my personal imformation - including my SSN!! - I called several other companies this morning as well and none of them had a problem with telling me about their services without my social security number (such as dish network)and they provided me with an overall much more pleasant experience as well. I'd say, even if it costs a little bit extra, go with dish network over direct tv for the customer service alone! (but based on the imfo I found on the web, it doesn't seem that direct tv is any cheaper! in fact, with the installation fees it looks like they actually cost more!!!) I will never ever recommend anyway sign a contract with direct tv.

Directv in Minneapolis, Minnesota - Direct TV

The town home association is telling us we need to move the Direct TV satellite because they are residing all of homes. They want to charge is $54.00 and will only accept a credit card, we DO NOT use credit cards, plus an additional $75 charge that we need to pay to the technician when he remounts the Satellite. THIS is absurd! Either the association should pay or there should be just one single fee of $75 to move it. We are canceling Direct TV and going to cable! Has anyone else had this situation? Don't companies realize that we are in a recession! People are losing their homes!

Ok so first off direct tv should offer you a free install for signing up with them. They should also offer you either an hd receiver which ends up being costly if u have more than one or a regular receiver I went this route and have three for what I would being paying for one hd.

If you go with the middle package only you should pay around 50-60 mnth. But since you are in a townhome and the hoa is making you change I would suggest that you talk to them and make them pay for any install charges if they occur.

It is NOT Direct TVs fault YOUR HOA is making you move your satellite. This is an issue with your HOA and NOT Direct TV.

Common sense should tell you that. But then again most Americans like you don't seem to have that these days.

Pod@DTV...you have that right! Never give DTV your credit card#.There is a reason they only accept credit cards and that is to place unauthorized charges on it!

If your contract with DTV is up your best bet is to go with cable where there is no contract.and if your contract is not up ask your cable co if they have a "buy back program" where they pay for whatever time you have left on your contract by giving you free service for ? months.

Directv in San Diego, California - Direct T.V. worst billing practices every!!

We have had Dierct T.V. for three days we recieved a bill that is due on the 17? That is two week billing cycle in advance. Was told they bill in advance every two weeks , instead of once a month like the cable company we left. I want to go back to cable company. Direct T.V. stinks!! I think they should review their billing practices, Why should we pay in advance for something we have not recieved. There should be laws to protect consumers from this companys that make promises they have no intention of keeping nothing they have said has been true!!!

Directv in Columbia, South Carolina - Unauthorized use of credit card

I payed a bill from direct tv for my ex son in law a couple of times. I moved and the equipment was turned in. Two weeks later without warning they debited almost $400.00 from my account which I gave them no authorization to do! My name isn't on the contract or lease. I had to stop payments on previous preauthorizations that I had pending and it caused me a total of $68. I had to go to the bank to get a statement to prove that they took it out and fax it to them. I have no money now and had to waste what little money I have left to get to the bank due to their actions at direct tv! This has been a very frustrating situation and I would like it to be resolved. I need the money back in my account!!! I have no money in my account to live on for two weeks.

There is nothing you can do. When you applied your card to your sons account it was binding.

And now you are liable for anything charged to that account. I repeat: there is nothing you can do about this; well, I mean you could teach your son about finances, but that would probably include the evil P word (parenting) and that's too much work for you.

Since the money was taken out of your account without your authorization and this is not your account, talk to your bank and tell them what is going on.Ask if they will reverse this charge to DTV.Some banks will do this for you as most deal with DirectTV's doing this all the time to people... I wish you luck

I set my daughter up a year ago and they have charged my account twice for their billing when my card was suppose to be removed by them. They are the worst company, you can't even talk to them. My recommendation, find another cable carrier.

If you are thinking of cancelling service make sure they do not have your cc or bank acc #. and get tracking# for anything sent to DTV.

Directv in Scottsdale, Arizona - Direct tv is horrible

It seems every time I have to call Direct TV it is an unpleasant experience. Unfortunately I have accounts with them in different cities as my husband must have NFL Sunday Ticket to watch his football games wherever we are so we are being held hostage. I wouldn't mind so much paying their fees but they have the very worst customer service. Most recently I wanted to be able to access "on demand" and was told that would require an extention of my contract. Another call to request a move of a receiver from one room to another also required a contract extention. They never seem to know what they are doing and I can't understand how they get away with this. If I had any other choice, I would not do business with this company. Hopefully one day I will.

Adding on demand DOES not extend your contract nor does moving a receiver. Get your story straight before you keep running your mouth with lies, k?

On demand is free and moving a receiver costs about 49 dollars. Perhaps you just didn't want to pay to move the receiver or for the cinema connection kit.

Directv in Houston, Texas - What happened to the good service Direct TV

After 2 years of great service from Direct TV, I am guessing they have outsourced their customer service department because it has gone way down hill. You are no longer a valued customer once they have you for 2+ years. I just went through the worse customer service experience trying to find out why my EARNED $50.00 bill credit has yet to appear. Neither of the 3 reps I spoke with were able to help, but instead harassed me, tried to sell me stuff and completely ignored my original reason for calling. Message to Direct TV: you once had the finest customer service in the business. Too bad you had to let it slide. Turning in my Direct Tv credit card and switching to At&t's U-verse and suggest we all follow suit.
