Directv in Lake City, Florida - Offered something for one price and then charged another price.

Whole home DVR. The commercial says record a movie in one room and watch it in any room. Price is $249.00 installed. Then when the installer gets to your home you got to spend another $99 per room if you want to do that. Customer service tells me that I should have reviewed the fine print. I had to cancel Direct TV to move to another state to live with my son due to serious health and financial difficulties. I understand about the early cancellation fees but was told that when I get the final bill, I need to call and most likely under the circumstances...

Directv in Omaha, Nebraska - I tried to contact them regarding a past due bill and could not get through the automated system.

When I tried to get through to DTV to talk to someone about a past due bill, I could not get through the automated system, becaue it kept hanging up on me. It took my hours, before I could get anyone and when I started pushing numbers and contacted someone, he blamed me and told me I just didn't use it correctly. This is not the first time this is happened to me with this system. So I cancelled my account after being with them for years. I will pay the past due amount but will not pay the extra $20 a month they want to chage me for a new box that I never evern asked them to replace.

:( I also am having this problem of not being able to talk to a live person at Direct TV because I owe them some money and the automated service will not connect me to a CSR. I was contacted a week ago by a CSR named Kayleen, and she was supposed to have arranged for me to settle the account for a lesser amount at which time my DTV package would be downgraded to something more affordable for me.

I paid the amount we had agreed upon, but when I call DTV, the automated service won't let me talk to anybody until the account is settled in full. When I went online to look at my account, nothing had been written in there about the agreement I had with the one CSR.

I have contacted through email everyone I can think of to explain about this situation but have not received anything from anybody at DTV. They are also threatening to withdraw the money from my account using the card I gave online for the one time payment.

After reading all of the complaints on here about their unscrupulous business practices, I am wondering if it would be possible to contact an attorney and get a class action suit started against them.

Directv in Parker, Colorado - Direct TV Sucks

After canceling my service I was told they would pull money out of my account automatically after 45 days however it was only 21 day causing a negative balance in my account of over 800 dollars and when I called to ask WHY since I hadn't even recieved the box to return my receivers till a few days before they simply told me that I should have paid attention - UM I DID WHEN I CALLED TWO WEEKS BEFORE TO FIND OUT WHAT AND WHEN I WOULD BE CHARGED! We cancelled service because the internet (through Qwest) was way slow and the signal for cable constantly was breaking up so I asked to switch to HD and they wanted another $300 to swap out our dish and cables. I refused and rather than work with me they forced me to close my account. By the time I get the amount paid they charged for closing the account and all of the bounce fees it will cause plus the late fees on everything else I can't pay becausze of these charges I will have shelled out over $1500 just to cancel there *** service. I DO NOT recommend them as a provider in any situation even if you can't get regular cable service I would recomend going without!

my acct. was debited in error and it will take 30 days for them to put it back. I cancelled my service becasue my transfer fee was applied to someone elses acct. and then I tried the co. again and that order was also messed up but they want to charge an early cancellation fee.. CEO Michael White and Ellen Filipjak should be ashamed of how direct tv and its employees disrespect the customers. Direct TV messes up two separate transfers and wants to charge an early cancellation fee. WHY would i want to remain with this company PISSED OFF

DTV does not really give a *** about their customers,they are too busy try to come up with something crooked to get their customers money.If they debited your account they must have your account #.If you continue to stay with DTV I'd have them send a bill and pay the bill with money orders and keep all receipts.I'd change my bank/credit card account # or cancel account to prevent DTV from taking money from the account.

Directv in Houston, Texas - Charging for service I'm not using.

I was denied an extension on my service because I am not able to return home to use it, I was hospitalized for Abdominal Aortic Anersym Surgery and can not get home to use this service. Billed for early cancelation fee $ 281.98, you cancelled me so I will not be paying this bill. I will continue in April for the remaining six months at contract charge of $180.00 for the six months required, I will not pay for services I am unable to use. Direct TV should allow for emergencies their consumers have no control over such as the above. I would like to settle this without getting attorneys involved. Acct. # 83341971 CAROL ROBINSON

Directv in Dayton, Ohio - Direct tv. They lie about everything and will tellyou anything to get you to sign up.

I was told on my initial contact with DT that I could and would receive Cincinnati stations. I was told I could get inter net services for one low price. After it was installed I found out the girl on the phone did not know what she was talking about. Also the 29.95 never happens!!!!!!!! After one year they raise your rate to 69.95 and remind you that you are in a 2 year contract. My second receiver has never worked I only get 5 stations on my up stair TV, they want 50.00 to come and fix their faulty equipment. This has been the worse "deal" of my life. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you, DTV lies to their customers to get them to sign up and then don't honor their end of the deal.You could try filing a complaint with the BBB,FTC and Attorney General in your state.One may answer and help you. The one thing you can do is to make sure DTV does not have your bank account# or credit card# if they have these now,change the numbers or change banks and do not give them the new#'s. Also pay them with money orders and keep all receipts.It is almost impossible to get any money back from them after they have taken it from the customers accounts.

Directv in Athens, Georgia - Satellite Direct TV Doesnt deliver

Satellite Direct is a total waste of money. Promises never delivered with absolutely NO customer support. I paid for subscription on 16th of October and it's only work once (and "worked" is a stretch). After I downloaded on my computer and tried to watch a football game, the feed was *** at best. Long buffer times (up to 10 minutes) even on a cable modem. Most stations are non existent and the rest have no content that's update. Great if you want to see last weeks news. grainy....no connections....and not EVEN the channels advertised! The second time (two weeks later) I tried to watch, I couldn't because there was a pop up saying I already had the program installed on a computer.... duhhhhhh.....yeah, the one I was using dumb *** Save yourself the aggravation....don't purchase. not worth a penny. Tar and feather the bums, free loading scammers. Who CAN you trust anymore?

Worst company I have ever dealt with. What customer service! I get angry every time I have to see there false advertisements on tv. Signal is horrible and we have never received any DVRs so I cannot record any programs for my child. Direct TV collected my money in August but yet still can't figure out how to get receivers to my home. The company's supervisors can't calll you back. I have spent 14+ hrs trying to actually get the service set up correctly. It has now been 2.5 mo.s and yet we still have no DVRs. Will never recommend this company!!!!! Looking for another provider.

Well I have just spent the last hour of my life reading reviews on Direct TV. In not one review did I see a positive for this company. Sorry so many people are as unhappy with them as I am. Not only are they eliminating channels but my bill is different every month. What the ***?? I have been a customer for 3 years, recently moved, new 2 year contract? *** NO! I am switching to dish network this week and as far as their early termination agreement I wish them luck collecting as I am dumping my worthless BOA bank account also. As far as the lazy tech thing goes..It was raining when he did the install. Refused to move or upgrade my dish. i got wires running everywhere...loooks awful! Goodbye D *** TV
