Directv in Minneapolis, Minnesota - Direct TV sucks

They said it was better and cheaper than cabel. Signal cuts out constantly - they won't come fix their bad product without charging me extra for their faulty product. They tricked/forced us into signing a 2 year contract after the salesman told us that there would not be a contract! They lied to our faces. I just tried to order a movie and it doesn't work! They don't really give a sh_t about the customer. Definitely going back to cable. Sales, Service and Product are the worst I have experienced. I will tell Everybody how bad they are!

Directv in Miami, Florida - DirectTV upgrade too expensive!

After six years as a customer, I have purchased a new HDTV and checked into upgrading my service to HD. I currently have two DVR and two standard recievers. I find that it will cost me $600 to ugrade to HD before I even start paying the higher monthly rate! Too much! I can go to Comcast for HD service at a lower rate and no $600 start up. Guess what I am going to do? I also have one of recievers that stopped working today for some reason? I went to "war" with DirectTV a year or so ago when they automatically added Hockey Center Ice to my bill because my wife had purchased it the year before as Xmas present. When I called them they refused to remove it because the season had started and continued to bill me. I solved that problem by removing my credit card from autopay. I never allowed them that trust again. So when they recieved payment only for what I wanted, we "talked" and corrected their mistake. I've recently tried to e-mail them to discuss the HD fees but I don't have the patience to grind my way through their automatic "problem solver" system so I am fed up!

Directv in Thomasville, Georgia - Direct tv scamed me

i moved to a new location which had no cable tv i received an ad fron direct tv about how to order by telephone saying it would cost only 29.00 for 1 year. thought this was great so i applied, i was told i could not get tv in that area, i wrestled with this for a month or so then went to e-911 location. they called direct tv and was switched about 4 o5 times to different people who kept hanging up. finally one contacted me and i went ahead and signed up for 29.95 per mongth, which was to be debited from my account on my debit card. they said i would have to pay 31.00 to begin with that day and the next monthe it would bre 29.95, i did this 2 weeks later they debited another 47.00 from my account, the next month 67.00. that 159.00 in 2 months the next month it was 67.00, i stopped payment. i called and they said that was correct, i had 2 tv's but they would disconnect 1, which they did plus disconnecting the other 1, i was again totally without tv. trhey said if i cancelled i would have to pay 485.00 for cancelling before time (they cannecled me) so now i have 478.00 on my credit report which i believe i do not owe. everyone in that area that applied by telephone has had the same thing happen to them. they sent a box so i returned boxes. helen

Directv customer service BLOWS!!

Okay, so I am a pretty patient woman, but when I get HUNG up on 5, yes, 5 different times - you are going to hear it from me, assuming I can speak to an actual human being, and one that speaks english! All I wanted was to enquire about their "bundle package" which includes a landline and internet. I was transferred 3 times. I hear them typing notes as I am asking questions Well, so I thought. When I finally got to the right department that was the first time I was hung up on. Called back again, thinking when my account info was pulled up the "notes" would be inputed --- NOT. This went on 2 more times. I was on hold for 43 minutes the 2nd time because they couldn't get me to the right department, I guess! They need to get a better system going, better training, and perhaps hire people who can actually speak and understand the english language... FRUSTRATING!! What's funny is the experience I've had speaking to their billing department is entirely different. After all that, I still haven't gotten any information on what I wanted. I am in the process of switching to comcast. I will read the reviews before hand though ....

Directv in Brighton, Michigan - More Hidden Fees

I had directv installed a week ago got my first bill it was more then I was expecting called and asked why they told me because I had not signed up for some rebate prior to installation if I had it would appear on my first bill since I did no it would take 6 to 8 weeks to process so basically to bad and they are not willing to do anything so you know what I would tell everyone I know to avoid Directv like a plague. It appears that they always find a way to screw people over!!!!

Directv in Frederick, Maryland - Direct Tv has to be the wost company in the business!!

We singed up with Direct Tv with the promise from them that we would receive Internet through Verizon. When the Direct Tv service was installed we called Verizon to get our Internet service started. They told us that they do not offer Internet in our area. We called Direct Tv and they said sorry but there is nothing they can do AND that if we cancel with them they will charge us a $450 cancellation fee......... We have been working with them for 2 weeks on this issue and it was now gone to the BBB. Stay away from this company!!! Anyone that does not stand behind what they offer or say is not worth it.....

all the direct tv subscribers should band together like what happen at bank of america'

we should demand that we should be able to pick the channels of our choice from a list of channels availible and don't cram a bunch of music channels I could care less about. Of cost this would have to be a reasonably charge and not stick it to us. Also direct tv should offer the same package at a lower rate for senior citizens on a fixed income.

I signed up for direct tv almost 2 years ago and at the end of my contract in January I will be cancelling the service. I was told upon sign up that my bill would only be 64.00 after my initial promotion ended after the first 6 months. My bill increased to 94 dollars instead and when we asked,why the drastic increase they said they can increase their fees and do not have to give the customers the prior acknowledgement that they are increasing fees. I find this to be underhanded and a very bad way to do business so I will take my business elsewhere.

Same thing happened to us. We signed up about 1 year ago.

Upon sign up we were told one price. Today I find out that Direct TV is about to withdraw an additional 30.00 on my bill. I was also told that they said they can increase their fees and do not have to give the customers the prior acknowledgement that they are increasing fees. I was a DISH subscriber before and I will be a DISH subscriber again as soon as I can get out of this silly contract.

Think before you sign anything with DIRECT... or you will be screwed too.

Directv in Hearne, Texas - Direct tv R16 model dvr disapearing guide

Have been complaining to direct TV for a year that my receiver doesn't work properly they replaced the receiver a year ago yet i continued to have an issue a tech came out today and replaced some other equipment an hour after he left the system was messing up again. I called direct TV again and they informed me that all of the R16 model dvrs have this disappearing guide issue and they do not have a solution to fix it. So they admit to knowingly charging us for faulty equipment and not doing anything to fix it. They don't care about the consumer they just want our money. Directv is a joke!

I had direct tv for almost 2 years, nothing but problems, kept searching for signal in 771 ( whatever that means) screen freezing, changing channels by itself then going back to the channel you were watching, I called an complained numerius times and they did nothing ( now i am talking about all these problems in nice weather,,,worse in rain, wind an d snow...) I finally had enough and called to cancel,, now they were nice to me,,,gee what's up there,,lol,, anyway toooo late had enough...of course i get an early cancelation fee of 140.00,, I called to complaine about that also , got an arrogent rep, I never signed any contracts and asked for a copy of the contract i signed,,answer was, of course, we dont need your signature,,BULL, worked my way up the chain of command ( waste of more of my time) still got no where..they will not drop the cancellation fee..but its ok for them to charge for a service that you dont fully recieve..(wish i could aford to test this case in court,)check out all the other lawsuites ..If you have direct tv and are happy great, if you dont get involed with them...I now have fios and its the best,,hope they put direct tv out of business.....

well first your reps need better training, the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing, upon getting direct tv I was told that it was a 1 yr contact not a 2yr contract. I have always delt w/ brighthouse and had excellent service w/o contract. and they were always on top of there reps. Direct tv always goes out when it rains or strong winds if there is a contract involved then your service should be alot better.Your companyis not a very realiable company, I NEVER HAVE HAD TO DEAL W/ DIRECT TV AND HOPEFULLY I NEVER WILL AGAIN I PEFER BRIGHTHOUSE WERE THERE SERVICE IS OUTSTANDING...WORKERS THERE NEED TO BE BETTER TRAINED...

I agree, before signing on, I called several times to get questions answered, all they want to do is sign you up, they don't really answer your questions completely, so after you are signed up there are many surprises, half their channels are info-mercials. I am going back to cable, when my contract is up

You are absolutely right about better training. I worked for the Direct TV customer service center - Convergys.

After 5 weeks of training, what was left of a group of 22 people was thrown onto the call center floor unprepared. I worked for 5 months and at that time there were only 2 others of the original class of 22 who started still employed. The training is insufficient and there is very little support from team leaders and managers once taking live calls. It is an impossible job!

I am passionate about customer service but this job is not about customer service. It is all about getting sales, contracts, and new customers. Once they've got you, they dont' care. I did care but to stay employed, you have to quit caring.

I got fired.

Go me. I do not support Direct TV!!!!

we were never told that we had to have internet to get the movies by the time we figured it out on our own it was too late to cancel. And then we get the bill and they are charging us this random amount which was not even the amt.

that we were told about!

Your incredibly on when you say that their personell need to be trained... and so does their Customer NO service!
