Directv in Denver, Colorado - Add unauthorized progaramming and then required full payment

Direct Tv added the football package to my programming because I did not deny the services in a letter they sent. They sent a letter in which stated I have to DENY (not approve) the service or it would be billed and added. I called when I noticed this programming was added and they said they would not refund the service. The ethics behind this shows their size unwillingness to treat csutomers with any value. I canceled my service because they were not willing to work with me. They are now requiring me to pay for the package even though the services are canceled. On top of everything- IT WAS A DEMEANING EXPERIENCE DEALING WITH THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT!!!

This very same this happened to me. On top of this, they cancelled our service a week prior to the cancellation day as well.

Ofcourse, supervisors are "unavailable" and the issue is perpetually "escalated". Worst customer service ever! They also want an EARLY TERMINATION FEE now.

Are there no laws against business practices like this? It's no wonder they have a D rating on the Better Business Bureau

Directv in Jonesboro, Georgia - Direct TV needs lessons in customer service!

I must say that we are very disappointed in the way we were treated by customer service and by a 'supervisor' named Chris. There was a total of $150.00 taken from my husband's account UNAUTHORIZED. When calling to get our money returned I was informed that would not be possible??!??!?!?!?! How do you any of you sleep at night? We understand that we have a bill with you but our three children's needs come first before entertainment! With you being the president/CEO of this company/VP, I'm sure you don't have to worry about things like that. I know this complaint will not even matter because we are one family, but I have a right to be heard and this is TERRIBLE way to treat customers! I will NO LONGER recommend this company to anyone. How can you be proud to represent a company like this? Whatever happen to excellent customer service?

Directv in San Antonio, Texas - Direct TV: absolutely no customer service

We transferred from Time Warner Cable about 5 months ago thinking there couldn't be a worse company. WRONG. Direct TV and their un-informed installers along with the horrible "yet saccharine sweet phony" customer service reps will set you up on a perpetual call in of this and that don't work. Immediate answer is to transfer you to a tech, that says "don't know why they transferred you to me, the could have given you the answer. Because the installers, are for the most part non-technical, they have absolutely no knowledge of how direct TV works with different types of internet and wireless connections. So you get on the roller coaster of calling because nothing works and you should have known that from the day installation. But on the plus side you do get a cheery, "you have a great day" from the customer service rep when they can't help you either. Not sure about everyone else, but that alone is worth my 100$....yeah...not so much.

Directv in Miami, Florida - Horrible customer service

on sept.20 i called direc tv to add additional coverage on my account. i spoke with kaiwinna(sales rep), which so was full with lack of knowledge. i was explaining to her my reasoning for calling but she told me i have a pro-rated fee that is due by sept.23 to avoid late fee. i told her i made my full payment according to the statement but she replied "you shouldve call because its additional charges you owe." i ask how do i suppose to know i paid whats on my bill she again stated i shouldve call anyways. after placing me on hold for 21 minutes she said the supervisor will not waive the late charges because its up to me to call to check my balance. when i ask to speak to the supervisor i was advise their on another call and will call me back. this been 4 days ago, never received a call. if i paid my bill statement in full why do i have to call. she did admit that they never sent me that additional bill but i shouldve call them just to check. i will NEVER refer them to anyone

Directv in Houston, Texas - Direct TV

PLEASE DO NOT sign up for Direct TV. I had to call them out 2 times after my initial installation to replace their faulty equipment. 1st time was not installed correctly on outside of house & rain go in. 2nd time, the SWM box inside went out. Both of these in the matter of 2 months. Now, I want to upgrade to DVR (which they didn't bring initially) and they want to charge me $200 for the DVR box plus $50 for the upgrade and $50 for installation ON TOP OF $7 a month. This company just rips people off. I'm going back to my old cable company. Tracy Elyria, OH 44035

Directv in Walnut Creek, California - Father died and Direct tv hassles for $$$

I called Direct TV to notify them that my father passed away. I was given a sales pitch about keeping the service. I said no, we are selling the house. The representative said that we would have to provide a death certificate to prove that we weren't trying to get away with not paying the early cancellation fee. Really??? I have returned the equipment, and am now getting harrassed about almost $400 for equipment. My father died in a head on car accident and we don't have the autopsy report necessary for a death certificate. I just spoke to a representative that said that she could not prevent the phone calls and emails. I would just have to put up with them until I provide all the necessary information. They are the only company that has given me any hassle. What a sad way to run a company!

Yeah, we had the same problem when my mother-in-law died in a house fire. We called Direct TV and they also tried to sell us the service...

really?! It's not in our name, how can we keep it? And they said they could not stop the service or automatic payments coming out of her account until they had a death certificate... they never got one, and they didn't get to continue to charge her account because the government froze the account and took their money back (she was ex-military) PS...

we told them it was a total loss house fire and they still wanted thier equipment back. Really?? *** ***. It burnt to a plastic puddle of goo.

PS, no we are not paying you 400.00+ for something that wasn't ours to begine with. They are so ***...

they never got a penny out of us. Good riddance..

Do not open the bill when you recieve it. Simply Write on the bill and any other items you recieve from them "return to sender - Reciepent Deceased"

Directv in Denver, Colorado - Won't allow me to return equipment for refund

I have been a customer since nov 2007. I have never had a problem unitl nov. of 2010. I bill had been set to be paid with a debit card on a monthly basis, during this month I was short in my debit so I made a one time payment on my credit card. In Dec. 2010 Direct TV used the card number that I gave for a one time payment and moved that to my new profile (that I didn't authorize). Needless to say that I called and complained, which they apologized for changing my profile (which they insisited that I authorized by pushing the onetime payment button) and refunded my to my card and promised that they would not use that card again and reset all of my profile to the origional settings. Until January 2011, when my profile was returned to the Dec version. Again they took their monthly payment not out to the debit account that was set up for this, but the CC Card that they had told me the previous month that would never be used, again they refunded the money and reset my profile. In Febuary 2011 on the 22nd to be exact. I informed them that I would be moving and no longer required their service, as I was leaving the country and didn't know where to hook up service during this 6 month absence. They informed me that I could put my service on hold for 6 months and then pick it up on Aug 22nd ( which is 6 months) I had all the questions(Equipment, returns, charges and prorated fees for the first part of feb). Was informed that my account would be on hold for the six months and as long as I called by Aug 22 nd there would be no issue on their end. I thought great. In may 2011 a charge on the cc card that Direct TV said that they would never charge on, was charged for all of the equipment. I called and numerous calls was told that they in fact made a mistake by using that CC card and refunded the money, and that my account was put back to the six month hold. The following day the money was charged to the card again. This time I was told that my account had been closed and the six month hold was never in place that they considered my to in possesion of Direct TV equipment and that had the right to charge whatever card they felt that they could get their money from. I requested a way to return the equipment that I had. Jump forward to Aug 22 nd, I called and explained my situation. Was told that I needed a recovery kit sent and I could return Direct TV's equipment. Since that time, I have had to call every day to recieve that recovery kit, which I recieved on Sept 15th, with no return label. I called and reported that there was no return label within 15 minutes of recieving the recovery kit. I was informed that one would be shipped to me overnight and to be recieved by me not later than 12 noon on saturday 17th. I have called everyday since that deadline passed not only was that label not sent the following 9 labels have not been sent. Today I was informed that I would have to wait an other 5-7 business days for a recovery kit to be sent. I would like a reply to this Dr.Rev.Scott L. Grossman 11463 Jackson Longmont Co 80504 720-635-5717

Directv in New York, New York - DIRECT TV. Steals

Please never sign up with Verizon nor Direct Tv. 3 in 1 offer. As a rule each month they add items to my bill that we never requested and then refuse to remove the current month charge and will only remove the item from the next month billing period. One month they added $53.99 for NFL Sunday Football, we never ordered it and was forced to pay because we did not cancelled before 19th. Verizon added charges for some Spyware protection for our internet service, again they removed it but we had to pay the current month charge. Every customer they stick these charges to each month can you see the numbers. Beware and tell a friend.

Sadly - it gets better. We had the very same situation.

They claim to have sent us a letter asking us to DECLINE this NFL service (which we never subscribed to in the first place) - and which letter we never received.

So - either we pay the 6 payments of $53.99 (which they won't reverse) or we pay $400 for early termination to leave this horrible service altogether. I hope you have better luck than us.

Directv in Middletown, New York - Direct TV sucks

I am a direct tv customer and wanted to add on one receiver.I was not told when I signed up that if I wanted to add an extra room that my contract would have a new restart date and and extra $120.00 on top of the 6.00 extra a month. For $120.00 I should own the unit. How can they get away with a new restart date? They are crooks. I can't go any where else without paying off the contract or paying their enormus fees. They never siad in the beginning I would have to pay thru the nose if I wanted to add a TV. Number one in customer satifastion my ***.Every time it rains my tv goes out. Dish network has non contract prices that are much better. I wish I would have gone with Dish now.

Directv

My agreement with DIRECTV was never respected as far as terms and conditions. Two yrs ago their lies started I received a bill that was totaled incorrect I called and wrote letters regardind This episode continued for 2 yrs. I spoke to a supervisor in July because of the tremendous errors He in turn promised me a agreement (verbal) that my bill for one yr.would be with tax 16.75 and after the two yr there would be a new agreement. I received another bill in September for a ridicules amount. This company should be infestigated by the gov
