Directv in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania - Direct TV placed fraudulent order

Called Direct TV to get some info. The pushy rep kept trying to sell. Finally I hung up, but she called back 4 times. I answered and she asked for my SS#, then my credit card. I said NO. She said she'd send me an email with info. Instead, I got an email with an order and an installation date. I had to call back 3 times - first guy hung up on me, 2nd guy transferred me to a dead # instead of a Fraud Mgr., 3rd guy got it right and cancelled the fraudulent order and transferred me to a Fraud Mgr. I will never purchase any service from Direct TV.

Directv in Dallas, Texas - Direct TV scam on Apps program

I ordered the Apps equipment, which is a piece of &*$#, been trying to get it to work since May 2011. They say they know they have a problem, but cannot fix it yet. Won't refund my money, and won't provide me the product that they advertised. August 1, 2011 I am cancelling all services and going to local cable. I have been a loyal customer of Direct TV for 11 years, and I hate to see our relationship end, but I feel that I and a lot of other people have been screwded with this Apps deal. If you have ordered it and not received the remote receiver, cancel it now for gods sake.

DIRECTV violated my consumer rights and others privacy

I recently signed up for DIRECTV. However, upon attempting to register for the rebate, it said to contact customer service. Customer Service advised me that my installation and becoming a new customer was on hold from being linked to another address. The address on my credit card was the same as my parents. THEY have been customers of DIRECTV since the company was PRIMESTAR. Talk about customer loyalty. They then advised me that MY PARENTS ACCOUNT was PAST DUE and because of that I was put on a HOLD!?. My social security number and/or my name is by no means associated to them and I know of several FDCPA laws that would be put to great use for giving out information to a non-account holder due to a simple address being associated. Furthermore, I have never heard of such an absurd concept. I graduated college and moved into a new place, I wanted to get DIRECTV, but could not because I lived with my parents years ago, and still had mail sent there. The address I signed up for DIRECTV service was not at the same address where this small amount due was. I sent this email to the company as well to confirm that I would not be charged since no one from DIRECTV showed up today. I was going to sign up for the direct bill pay too. However, with the treatment I got I no longer think of DIRECTV as an entertainment choice or a company that can stand behind customers. Not to mention my privacy rights are more than at stake. My parents are looking into other cable providers as well. I advised them I know all about their past due bill and that I am unable to become a customer due to their address and the small amount they owe. I am going to post this around the web and see what type of feedback I get in regards to other options I have for legal purposes. Please reply with any advice as well.

Directv in Dayton, Ohio - Did not explain 2 year 'contract'

I am caregiver to a 90 year old hard hearing woman. She was a time-warner customer for years,She was told she could 'hear' her music stations clearer with Direct TV. She had me call and switch her service six mos. ago, what a nightmare!! The tech came and installed 1 box in her living room, not explaining she needed another for her kitchen, and since the tv was older he had to rig it so she didn't know how to use the romote. She had me call to disconnect since it was not doing her any good, she still could not hear it.When I tried they rudely told me it would cost her 360.00! this was not explained either at her initial hook-up, nor did she sign a contract! What a poor business!!TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE ELDERLY AND DISABLED!!

Directv in Abilene, Kansas - Direct Tv

I signed up for the $29.99 package. My bill is $62.70. I have been lied to about why it is that high. Now I am stuck with a 2 year contract. Can anyone help me get out of it. I was told that I am paying for HD, the advertisement says it is free. Then I was told I was paying for the movie channels. It says they are free for three months. This is my first billing More then one channel shows the same program at the same time. Ripped off and mad. Is there anyway to get out of a contract that seems to be misleading, and false advertisement?

Call them up. I really don't like DirecTV, but call them first. And don't take the first answer from the first person you talk to, ask (then demand) to go higher up the food chain.

Directv in Carmel, Indiana - Direct TV is trying to fraud me

I have been a Direct TV customer for two years. I'll be moving end of July and I first called them to ask what they have for me if I continue with them. They gave me their best offer saying that i could cancel my request any time for free. We agreed to have the installation on Aug, 1st. It took 5 minutes. Minutes later, I got a better offer from a competitor and I decided to apply for it so I had to cancel my previous request of activation with Direct TV. I had to call three times (line cut at the first, long wait at the second, hundreds questions also personal at the third) for a total of 2 hours. During the third call I arrived to scream for more than 10 minutes because the operator continued asking me question with no stop, regardless I affirmed my desire to cancel my request. She asked me my email address to send me the confirmation of cancellation and what she sent me was only the confirmation of my request of activation of the service for August 1st, with the expected time for the technical visit. I don't want any service from them. Anything else. Never.

Directv in Tampa, Florida - Direct Tv Commercial

What is this commercial they have with the boxer, it's racist and it promotes violence is ok for children. It promotes it's ok for a black child to hit an older white man. If this thing was just the opposite you would have Jesse Jackson or the other rev trying to play a race card, why is it ok for them to do this it's nothing but a race thing. Now I see Mcdonalds has a commercial with all black people in it. Why is it ok for blacks to have this but if whites did it we would be racist.

I can't believe this is even posted! Please go outside and get a life.

Oh, and by the way, if you don't like your children to see this kind of stuff on tv, DON'T ALLOW THEM TO WATCH TV.

See how simple that is? If you really want to make a change, throw your tv out the door and never buy another one.

Wow, it amazes me how ignorant people really are. Get a life, get an education, and realize all people are created equal and it's people such as yourself and this other ignorant *** above my comment that keep freedom and equality suppressed.

I sure hope you two don't have children or plan to bring children into this world. God bless you, and may you find a means to finding an education.

The commercial shows that the blacks in this country still don't know their place that's why all non-whites should understand that the white man is head and shoulders above them and their welfare way of life

Directv in Milpitas, California - Dish Installation faulty, will not allow to speak to supervisor

When Direct TV installed the Parabolic Dish, I asked that it not be installed into roof materials or fascia, and upon returning the installer had gone ahead and did just what I asked them not to do. My concern was the damage done to the roof and sure enough upon inspection last week while in the process of installing a new roof found that they had split the fascia board along the roof line where they had set two lag screws. I called today and asked if they would please move the dish from this area and I would install a mast that they could attach the dish to. Being a microwave engineer for forty years, I am somewhat familiar with installing parabolic antennas (this form of dish). I am informed that there is a $49.00 fee for relocating and because it is pass the 90 day period I am stuck. Stuck for an improper and damaging installation? Don't think so. Asked to speak with a supervisor and after 15 minutes told I would have to call back. Direct TV you are not meeting this customers needs. You will have to work very hard to get this customer back if I leave. I will tell my tale to all those that will listen and yes word of mouth does have an effect on your bottom line.

Directv in Murfreesboro, Tennessee - Commercial condones elderly abuse

Commercial that shows child striking butler condones elderly abuse. It is also racist since everyone on the commercial is black except for the hired help and commercial says it is okay to beat the "help". Commercial should be removed with apologies for being offensive to both blacks and whites. Black mothers teach respect for the elderly. I can't believe that your marketing staff cannot come up with better ideas for a good product. I don't see the correlation between this abusive commercial and the marketing of Direct TV. Please--come up with something positive to say and reflect what Direct TV is about.

I think it is called "humor". Something about being "in the eye of the beholder?" Sounds like you need to relax with a cold Gin & Tonic. The world is on fire and there are more important things going on than a silly commercial.
