Directv in Los Angeles, California - Indirect TV will NOT come and get their equipment

After attempting to get Direct TV to come and pick up some of their equipment...they told me to ask someone I know to do it..IE a neighbor...I am disabled and CANNOT do it myself...they are charging me and still refusing to come...I was told that they DO NOT pick up, they only install!! So, I went to the BBB's online website and filed a complaint and learned that Direct TV has a rating of F!! I can truly say, that, I am NOT surprised....$100 or no $100 they suck! I want out now...

directtv toni employee number 455084. worst customer service i ever had. i asked to talk to someone about my bill, that has been different every month since we got the service. never the 34.99 we were promised. was advised we have to pay 10.00 extra a month because we do not have the money taken out of our account. why would i give them my account number if the cant even get the bill straight. also asked to talk to a manager. he would not give me his managers name or contact information. had to tell him to quit interrupting me when i was talking. very rude, if he was my customer service supv. i would have fired him on the spot.

Directv in Carlisle, Pennsylvania - Poor Customer Service and Equipment!

I have only been with Direct TV for 2 months and have already had 2 issues with them! Both issues were over the weekend and I had NO service! This last issue was because one of the receivers quit working and Customer Service told me they would ship me a new receiver and I would be responsible to hook it up myself and I had to ship the old receiver back to them or pay $400.00. I'm stuck in a contract with them for 22 more "miserable" months! The day my contract is up with Direct TV is the day I will be cancelling their service. I informed them of that and they responded back to me that they had "millions" of customers and I was ONLY ONE CUSTOMER!

Directv in Carlisle, Pennsylvania - 2 issues with Direct TV in 2 months!

I have only been with Direct TV for 2 months and have already had at least 2 issues with them! Both times were during the weekend and I had/have to wait until the following week for service. I called the company about this recent issue and they told me I would not receive a new receiver for a few days and I would be responsible to hook up the receiver and ship the old receiver back to them. I'm stuck with Direct TV for 22 more months! When I called them on Saturday, they informed me that they had "millions" of customers and I am just "one" customer. They should be shut down! Beware of Direct TV!!

Directv in Los Angeles, California - Don't waste your $$ on Direct rip off

First, they broke a special planter when installing and would not pay for it because I didn't have a receipt. They lied to me about free HD. I then signed up for Premier but they didn't tell me that some of the channels would be blacked out, and they could not tell me when they would be blacked out or how often, but I'm still paying Full Price for Premier. What a *** rip-off!!! A few months after signing up the remote began malfunctioning. They charged me $15.00 for a new remote! Then I couldn't program it, and they said it would cost me $59.99 if somebody came to the house. There are a few other things as well. I'm so pissed at this company. Also, when I called to complain that I wasn't getting the sports that I had signed up for, a supervisor HUNG UP ON ME. I wasn't even yelling or cussing. I'm looking into other companies, and I will change as soon as possible. I'd rather pay these sneaky creeps $20.00 a month for the remainder of the contract than over $100.00 a month for stuff that is BLACKED OUT. And to charge a new customer for a malfunctioning remote is just plain greedy. They are nothing but a Direct Rip Off. Corporate thieves!!! They lied to me about HD, too. Steven Lee, Oxnard CA.

THEY KEEP YANKING CHANNELS THAT WE PAID FOR!!!! WE HARDLY EVER WATCH TV AND ONE OF CHANNELS I DO WATCH.....FIT TV...... IS NOW GONE?!?! WTF?!?!?

THEY ON ONE BILL CHARGED US FOR 10 MOVIES WE NEVER WATCHED -BILL SHOWS ALL WERE WATCHED IN ONE DAY?!?!

THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN AS WE BOTH WORK FULL TIME!!!! THEY REFUSED TO REMOVE CHARGES!!!

:( I'm with you... I was in Wal-Mart looking at HD TV's when a representative of Direct TV greeted me.

First it was $300 to sign on, then oops! it's really $600 so I said no thanks and left. Got a call on my cell that his manager was able to reduce my fees to $200 so I accepted. Well, $459.63 later, not including the tri-pod that I shelled out an additional $65 for and was not told about until the tech was installing the dish, I have no HD service at all.

HEEELLLOOOO! I bought an HD TV so I could watch HD and the final say was that HD service is not available because my porch screen (I'm in an apartment building with strict covenants) is blocking the signal. Why did the technician not tell me that on his first of 5 visits?!?!?!?! And the more upset I became the more I heard was "You signed a contract", "You signed a contract", like sone da** parrot.

If the company cannot deliver on its service or goods then they have no business bothering me. BTW, I made no less than 14 phone calls in 10 days to Direct TV (supposedly they are recorded) so I have made every possible effort and gone above and beyond what I think was necessary to resolve this. And guess what? The tripod is "mine", it's non-returnable, and the dish is "mine" because that also is non-returnable.

Because the dish is considered an environmental no-no and Direct TV has no method of responsible disposal, I think I have a funky looking piece of trash for a new "dish" garden outside. I really wanted to mess with the receiver before I sent it back but at least they gave me a pre-paid label.

Directv in San Jose, California - Worst Customer Service - Difficult To Find Rebate Redemption

I Just got DirecTV. They have terrible customer service. They make getting rebates very difficult, and require you to do this online. To do this online, you need to call to get your account number. They make the process take multiple steps on purpose so no one actually redeems the rebate. DirecTV also made me pay $100 for the encryption box. I understand all companies do that, but when the CEO makes over $20 Million, it seems I'm just lining his pocket. All of this for a two year commitment...***, DirecTV. Also, the guys who installed the system in my home were idiots. They didn't have the right cables, and left the place a mess. I know these guys are independent contractors, but it's a reflection of DirecTV, too.

We received a"THANKS" card from Directv, giving us 3 Mos. Free STARZ programming ,so far we can not get it on our TV, It said, channel not purchased ! Can you help? We really like the western movies. Please Help, I'm filling in words to reach 100. Why do we need to write 100 word's ? I am not a big talker ! ! ! Th weather hear is really nice ! How is your weather? I went hiking last week, done 80 miles, do you hike ? OK, this is silly, filling in all these words, do you like to read them ? taking up your time?

You will probably need to call and have DTV activate the "free" Starz channel for 3 months but if you decide not to keep the channel,you will need to call and cancel it

Directv in Jacksonville, Florida - Direct TV is Heartless

My Mother, age 72, was recently diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer and hospitalized. We have to move her out of her home and into an end of life care facility. I call Direct TV to cancel her contract and they not only would not cancel the contract they tried to upsell me and have Direct TV installed in my house. I asked for the supervisor and asked her if she had the authority to cancel the contract and she said she did but it was not Direct TV's policy. I asked her what proof I could provide to her that I was telling the truth and not just trying to get out of a contract and she said the only thing she would accept would be a death certificate. I will NEVER get Direct TV and will STRONGLY suggest to everyone I know not to do business with this heartless company.

I sent an email to ellen.filipiak@directtv.com as suggested by a previous complaint on this site. I recieved a call from a Direct TV representative a couple of hours later and they canceled the contract appologizing for my prior experience with their customer service department. Apparently someone at that company has some sense.
