We received a"THANKS" card from Directv, giving us 3 Mos. Free STARZ programming ,so far we can not get it on our TV, It said, channel not purchased ! Can you help? We really like the western movies. Please Help, I'm filling in words to reach 100. Why do we need to write 100 word's ? I am not a big talker ! ! ! Th weather hear is really nice ! How is your weather? I went hiking last week, done 80 miles, do you hike ? OK, this is silly, filling in all these words, do you like to read them ? taking up your time?

You will probably need to call and have DTV activate the "free" Starz channel for 3 months but if you decide not to keep the channel,you will need to call and cancel it

Directv in Jacksonville, Florida - Direct TV is Heartless

My Mother, age 72, was recently diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer and hospitalized. We have to move her out of her home and into an end of life care facility. I call Direct TV to cancel her contract and they not only would not cancel the contract they tried to upsell me and have Direct TV installed in my house. I asked for the supervisor and asked her if she had the authority to cancel the contract and she said she did but it was not Direct TV's policy. I asked her what proof I could provide to her that I was telling the truth and not just trying to get out of a contract and she said the only thing she would accept would be a death certificate. I will NEVER get Direct TV and will STRONGLY suggest to everyone I know not to do business with this heartless company.

I sent an email to ellen.filipiak@directtv.com as suggested by a previous complaint on this site. I recieved a call from a Direct TV representative a couple of hours later and they canceled the contract appologizing for my prior experience with their customer service department. Apparently someone at that company has some sense.

Directv in Indianapolis, Indiana - Direct TV

We were sold a bogus bundle package from Direct TV back in November. We've since been told by AT&T that the phone and internet offered by Direct was never available in our area. We have tried since to disconnect and they will not disconnect. They continue to bill us against authorization and are threatening to report us to the credit bureaus. Our bill is now upwards of 700 and we disconnected their equipment three months ago. Can someone help us out of this mess? Direct will no longer accept our calls. My phone number is 901-281-8559.

Directv in Boerne, Texas - DIRECT TV will cheat you if they can

Have had Direct TV for two years. Have never really been happy with them, due to the excessively high cost of monthly service. Was reviewing a recent bill and noticed a $4.99 recurring monthly charge for channels I have never received. I asked a customer service rep to explain the charges and added that I really didn't want the channels, but an explaination of the charges. I got a response that they had "deleted" the six channels from my subscription package and nothing else. I responded by saying they didn't answer my question and what were they going to do about the months of service that I was charged for and didn't get. I got another response that it was too late, because they have already deleted the service from my subscription package and couldn't verify my claim. I then asked to be referred to a supervisor, which didn't happen. This is a pretty good scam, get you to complain about one thing, cancel part of your subscription and then claim that you should have complained earlier and that it's "tough luck" on your part, but no refund or credit. I pay these thieves approx $155 a month for TV and they are trying to beat me out of about $200 in credits. What a bunch of losers. If you have to deal with these guys, then keep a keen eye on your bill. they will cheat you if they can.

Directv in Burbank, California - Don't do it.

Over 9 months ago I had to cancel our service contract with Directv. During the 9 months time we did not receive a final bill, a letter nor a courtesy call from Directv that we had an unpaid balance and if we did not take care of the unpaid balance of $45.00 we would be sent to a collection agency and be reported to the credit agencies. However, recently we received numerous calls throughout the day from a collections agency to our new home telephone number. I would answer the phone and they would hang up. Finally I got a hold of someone to be informed they were collecting a unpaid debt and that we were reported to the credit agencies. I asked for a copy of a bill reflecting the amount we owed and the dates. I was told they would not send a copy. I therefore, contacted Directv's corporate office inquiring about the balance due and if they would send me a copy of the bill. They too, said "it was owed and that they could not send a copy". I also asked why it was necessary to send us to a collection agency when you had all of our current information and our address for the last 9 months. The response was, "we don't call or send a letter". So now we owe for a bill that we cannot get a copy of, our great credit has a bad mark and calls from a collection agency that is rude to you. Thanks Directv.

Directv in Wilmington, Delaware - Ripped me off.

We had directtv for around 4 years. Decided to get another provider because we were tired of our television losing reception every time it rained. Charged an early cancelation fee of 60.00. on a fix income but paid. Sent a bill for another 44.99. husband called and was told that when we returned the boxes there was a PPV:NFL pay-Per on receiver. My husband said no one had viewed this. The date of 9/21 no year. Told we had to pay. They should refund us for all lost reception during rain, wind & snow. Might I add, even though my husband is a retired disabled veteran, we have always paid our bill on time. Directv you are very greedy. When family or friends ask me how I like Directv I will answer them very carefully and honestly. It sucks. I hope this is the last bill they send me and I hope I can get them to stop calling me even on Sundays.

was totaly scammed by direct tv after having service in home for 4 days service sucked bad so we cancelled only to find we will be getting billed 490.oo for early termination when we only had it in home for 4 days plus whos taking this gotty looking thing off my roof plus the instaler left a huge mess and holes evry where cause he was to lazy to hook up the right way big holes in house scammers.

Yes, times are tough..people need to cut back...BUT....how desperate can DirecTV be? My bill recently reflected a $19.95 shipping & handling charge for replacement of a defective DVR that I lease. Why does this add insult to injury? After the DVR kept shutting down...

There may be more charges for you that you are unaware of like an additional 2 yr contract extension for replaceing their defective DVR.You would be very wise to change the number or cancel your credit card and do not tell DTV the new #.

December 15, 2010 I purchased need Direct tv service from the store to receive $300 free visa card. My nightmare began in Mar,2011 where I called the store and spoke to Scott Moregan, mgr who gave me a line of *** from his not too bright mind. I have placed over fourteen calls and still no results. He blamed Direct tv and when I finally got the general store manger he said the person who took the order (Scott) did not link it. I will never do business with this company again, false advertisement.I am angry and hurt.

I called them in the morning about a discount if we decide for auto bill. They approved and I said I will call back for my credit card.

I called back in the afternoon and took the guy 40 minutes to figure out if i am qualify for that discount. Nothing get done, a waste of time. I called back again in the evening, another guy explained that i am not qualify because they already gave me $5 discount and it is in THE SYSTEM. Why in the world would i take $5 discount if i can get $10 for it.

Just an over priced service and now i got stuck w/ them for another 16 months. No way in *** i would recommend Direct TV for anyone.

bad billing ,no one care ,they think they can charge what ever they want because they have your charge card. well there is other cable and satellite co. out there ,direct tv just lost a customer that pays,1025.00 a year over a 65.00 screwup on there part .when you call to talk to someone you get nowheres an get no sane answers .the tv reception and installation service is great, but customer service sucks . i was billed for 2 different plans in 1 month an no one on the phone could help me so i just gave an drop the service

you are so right! I'm a new customer and they already suck.

My 6yr old grandson can give me better answers then they do. Anytime I have an issue, (and there are many!) I talk to a bunch of idiots!

I have asked to speak to a manager but never get one! Worse company I have ever dealt with
