Directv in Houston, Texas - Lack of knowing when you pay cash/updates to your system

I paid my direct bill though late at an authorized representative paycenter in Houston, TX at 8 a.m. in the morning; the(Cash) has not been posted to my account and therefore my service was interrupted; it has been 24 hours and there is no updating to your system daily; give me a break. With today's technology, I cannot understand how the systems do not automatically update in your system, even overnight therefore this would not happen. When you pay cash for anything it seems as though it takes more time for cash to clear than it does for debit or credit cards, please make me understand where is the money that I paid; when you pay cash you expect service then.

Stay away from Directv!!!

I am a new customer with Directv and I contacted them about exposed wires and that it could be dangerous. They told me to "watch my children" Now my service is out and I called them on a Friday and they told me they can't come to my house until Monday. Now I have no TV and also I have to keep the children inside or watch them all the time so they don't get electrocuted! What poor service!! I had to call them many times for them to understand the danger of my situation! STAY AWAY FROM DIRECT TV!!

This company will tell you one thing obtaining your business and then the surprises come. I was told upon switching my twenty year service from comcast to Direct tv my monthly bill would be 89 dollars per month for two years and then would capo at 114.00 per month. My third bill was for 133.00 and when I called she stated that was my monthly bill and after two years it would go up anoother 10.00 per month. what a crock. what a scam! I then asked her how I could cancel my services and she advised me of a 400.00+ fee. stay away from these scam artest.

Anyone other than me notice that on the local channels the video and the voices are out of sync. In other words, the lips and the sound don't match.

Have been complaining for some time and all I get is that they don't see the problem. Have had the techs come to my house, replace the sat box and try to say the type of coax cable being used effected the time the voice and video arrived at the TV set. I asked the tech to explain to me just how the TV signal was generated and what the difference was between the video and the sound signal. They didn't have a clue.

Then they tried to say it was the problem due to my new large flat screen TV. Another feature not working correctly was the caller ID display. They tried to tell me because it was a cell phone making the call, those numbers wouldn't be displayed. Asked him why my normal caller ID box I had showed the number and their sat box didn't.

He changed the subject. Last item is you don't get stereo sound from the sat box going to the TV using the coax cable. The box only has a mono modulator.

Nice going DIRECT TV. Your too cheap to even provide a stereo sound on the coax cable connection.

Direct tv is a disappointment and today I have had enough..customers service is terrible enough but when I find out I was being charged for over a year for a receiver I dont have well that's it...if you can no longer trust they company and customer service wants to argue with you than its time to move on..so much for loyalty.they told me it was not their fault but it is and tomorrow I will have another satellite company to replace you.If I am going to give away my money may as well spread it around!

In December of 2010 I had a past due bill of 335 with direct Tv. InJanuary I asked for a payment plan to resolve the debt. I could not get through to talk to anyone, so I e mailed. The response I got was about getting my service cut back on I was interested only in paying the bill no comment was made on that. So I sent in good faith a 100 payment. Shortly after the payment Drirect TV took 435. out of my account saying they had the right to do so. I did not mind the 235 that I owed them but they took an additional 175 for the converter. I returned the converter on March 11,2011 and was told that my money would be refunded as soon as they verified that the converter was in working order. I have been given several dates and still no funds. So I had my atty write a letter. Still no fund and they moved the date back to May. How can I fight this.

Have been waiting now for two day for a rep to come and reset signal on the dish, have called twice now still no service rep, wish I had stayed with Dish, I am sure no one of importance with direct tv will even read this but it is good to vent! we have been lied to ever since we started with direct tv, the offer promation, this is a joke why don't they just tell you that you will be screwed from the start. Guess I will have to pay the days we are not receiving or watching tv??I really don't know how the VP or Pres of this place can sleep at night but I guess dummies like me will keep them going so they can be VP's and Pres, I guess I am done it will not do any good anyway. mayberry52@hotmail.com

Had a similar issue. Just be ready for them to charge you for them not able to deliver a product. I called them to complain about this but the supervisor I talked to hung up on me.

Directv in Atlanta, Georgia - Direct tv is a joke. they lie and ripped me off and ropped me in a contract

i have had service with this sorry comp. for 15 years. why i dont know. they keep going up on the price every year and give you less and less. recently i added a receiver and signed a contract for a year. a month later they raise their price on the service and the receiver. is that legal. not in my book. i call them almost everyday now complaing. i always talk to idiots who try to sell you more and more. i just keep cutting them back more and more until i can get out of this ripoff contract. they need to get their head out of their butt. i cant wait till this so called loyal customer can tell them take youre direct tv and shove it.

We cancelled Direct TV and shipped the Direct TV box and access card back to them. Within a month they sent us a bill for two movies we did not order. The movies were allegedly ordered by us two years ago. The Direct TV representative said that they couldn't bill...

Directv Deposits/Cancellation Fees

In February 2010 I signed up for Directv services and paid a $450.00 deposit. A bit much but whatever, I was tired of the cable companies. A year later, I am moving i with friends and no longer need the service. The contract was for one year. They said I owe $468.00 for canceling my contract and my final bill. I asked them to apply the deposit and the CSR told me that wasn't a contract cancellation deposit but was only to provide me with a $5.00 discount every month...so I basically am out the $450.00 and bought my own monthly "discount" for a year....I will never use Directv again.

Directv in Los Angeles, California - DIRECT TV POOR SERVICE

I am a new customer of direct tv and just recently transferred from charter cable. Direct Tv customer satisfaction is so poor that they can't work with their customer. I requested to add 1 international channel to my acct. unfortunately that international channel i requested comes with a package for $25 plus $75 installation fee. I used to pay $10 for that international channel from charter cable, but direct tv charges more and I feel that I am not getting more for my money. I have to pay $60/month for my choice extra service on top of the $25 if I decided to get that international channel. It is a total rip-off to get money from their customer. I talked to the supervisor and asked for discount but they will not work with me to get what I requested. And if I cancel my service, I would have to pay$400. I feel that I am stuck with the direct tv's poor service for 2 years and will not be able to watch my international channel. I should have stayed with charter or got verizon FIOS! Please don't sign-up with Direct TV.

:upset directtv has changed a lot charge a lot can't add a dvr for $10.00 bucks any more you got to pay $179.00 more to add one that sucks ill never will go with them again..

You can't sign a contract, promising to stay with a company for 2 years and then claim you're a victim when they bend you over. Why did you think they require that contract?
