Directv in Hammond, Indiana - Took my money from my account unjustly.

Directtv took money out of my account unjustly. I had been trying to cancel the service and pay the unfair canellation fee for 11 months. When communicating with them over the phone, I either got caught in a automated loop, had someone who couldn't speak clear english, or the call was dropped. 11 months later, my account was depited 602.00 for service I didn't have at my old address. They even said I sent in the receivers which, I didn't because I never received the UPs labels. I dont' want junk boxes, I want my money!

Direct TV stole money out of my account. I had repeatedly told them I didn't want HBO, Showtime, or their insurance.

They kept charging me for them anyway, and so I closed my account. They refuse to come pick up the box and dish saying I own them so they could charge me for them.

Had issues with direct TV also. Took money out of account after I cancelled service.

I will NEVER use them again. Called to complain said nothing they could do about it.

The same thing happened to me,for over $1,000.00. After MONTHS of back and forth I finally received the funds back into my account.During this time I had numerous NSF,my bank (SRP)was very helpful and returned all that had occured through them. However Direct TV has yet to refund the money what the merchants charged me and that has been over a year.Good Luck with them

Hate DirecTV

I would give them zero stars if I could. In March of last year, I bundled my phone/internet/satelite services because it would save me money. It has not save me money or time. I've spent time trying to decipher my bill and calling customer service. I called last May wondering why my bills were separate to find they were never bundled. Odd considering all I spoke about was bundling and was transferred to DirecTV from Verizon. Then in Nov. and Dec. I would lose reception on and off even in good weather. I called customer service and was told that since I "bought" the receiver, I was responsible for making sure it was clear unless I wanted to pay $5.59 for a protection plan. Why would you place a receiver on my roof and then expect me to service it? Today, I called customer service again and have been hung up on twice wehn I had a question about my bill. I am counting down the days until March 26, 2012 when my two year contract expires!!!!

I had this bundled thing also with DTV and AT&T and I thought I would save money but it wound up costing me more.I got out of my contract with DTV after 5 months of pure ***.You also might find a solution to your problems at eHow.com read the articles from people that have gotten out of their contracts with DTV one may apply to you.Good Luck

Directv in Sacramento, California - Direct tv poor customer service

I signed up for direct tv last month and was told that i could get the triple package of tv, phone, and internet and at a great price of $69.97 per month. they hooked up the tv but the next day i was told that i could not get the phone or the internet, but i was told that i could. i spent 45 minutes on hold trying to speak to a supervisor but never could get a supervisor to pick up. end result, i do not get what i was promised in writing and over the phone and i never want to have to call them because they do play games with putting people on hold.

Had directTv for 8 years. When they first talked about going to mpeg4 video I called.

Was told there would be a $100 fee for upgrade. Wasn't happy but agreed, the 1st appointment to install came and was told they didn't have the dish. 2nd appointment came got a call was told it MIGHT rain, now it wasn't raining at that time, but was told he wasn't coming. 3rd appointment no one called and no one showed up to upgrade service.

That was the last straw, unhooked their equipment took down their dish and cancelled their service.

The best part was the lady on the phone had no idea why I was cancelling my service. I firmly believe that if you gave DirectTv 2 weeks notice and let them use both hands, they could not find their ***

Directv in Madison, Wisconsin - Direct TV signal loss, slow box, etc

I am angry about Direct Tv - tonight I am watching Castle and the signal drops out. I am recording it to my DVR, so of course, that will be corrupted as well. Then I have a problem with my DVR box being annoyingly slow. Push a button on the remote and wait up to 10 seconds for the box to react. Of course, there's Direct taking channels away - hey, we're paying for the service, we should get the channels we want - in HD if available. And what is with the CEO's bonus of $35 million? That's messed up. We're unhappy with the service, unhappy with the box, unhappy with the company, and the CEO gets a bonus? Do customers get a break in cost of service? Do we get upgraded boxes? No, just the same run around that it's all going to get better with the new box - but nothing ever happens.

Directv in Orlando, Florida - Direct Tv is the worst service ever!!!!!!

Let me preface by saying I am not a complainer; that being said, DirectTv is the WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are considering....think again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have wasted so much time trying to fix billing and service and contract issues...and can say it actually made it worse talking to "customer service" representatives. Why have customer service when you don't even care about your customers?!?! Why have a number to call for help when you cannot help the people who are calling?! Thank God I have unlimited minutes or my phone bill would be astronomical because of the amount of time I have spent holding and being transferred and explaining my issues to the entire DirectTv staff who have proven to be helpless....? It is with great sacrifice that I am taking this one for the team...and hoping my experience will make yours better! Please DO NOT get DirectTV, you will be sorry.

I concur with the comment above. Direct TV has the worst customer services that I've ever experienced.

It's so frustrating to deal with those clueless reps who do things against what you would expect from a paid service provider.

TERRIBLE SERVICE AND REPEATED MISTAKES ON BILLING AND INSTALLATION. You want to sue them, but because they're systems is so wacked, I've been able to pay less than what's billed.

DirecTV - Bait, Switch, and Insult

I have been a DirecTV customer for over 20 years, but will not remain one for longer than I must. I am extremely angry with the company, the practices, and their "customer insult" people. They advertise that with an HD DVR and high-speed internet connection, the customer will have access to many movies and shows at NO ADDITONAL CHARGE. Their web site indicates this in no uncertain terms. So, I purchased the DVR and wireless adapter only to learn that it is NOT at no additional charge. I have learned that these movies and shows are, in fact, pay channels' on-demand services. (HBO on-demand, Starz on demand, etc.), and that unless I subscribe to those pay channels I cannot access the movies and shows. This IS an extra charge. I contacted their "customer insult" people and was told that it is "common sense" that these movies and shows are actually pay channels on-demand. I wonder how I've made it through my 54 years of life with no common sense?? Time-Warner, here I come!! My request to return for refund the hardware that I had purchased to access "Cinema" was denied. I would not recommend DirecTV to anyone.

When me and my Husband signed up with direct tv through ATT we were thrilled to be going with a company that seemed to be so determined to provide excellent customer service. Three months after signing up we learned that we were wrong, we were told when we signed up that we would be given the movie channel for 1yr but in reality it was three months, we agreed that it wasnt worth a fight and decided to just remove the movie channel, not a year later we find out we were lied to yet again. When we signed up we were told we would be getting the discounted price for the length of our contract which is 24 months now we find out nope its one year. I called and was not only given attitude but told that it was our fault for not looking at our bill. After arguing with a supervisor we were given a discount for 6 months but only for half what we should have been receiving and this was only after I threatened to sue them, due to the horrid customer service we received we will be leaving direct tv when our contract ends. Hopefully people will read this and see that direct tv baits their customers by offering discounts and specials and once you sign up they switch what they originally told you and trying to get them to admit they were wrong is like try to get a cat to bark. Please dont go with direct tv there horrible.

Directv in Sioux Falls, South Dakota - Door to Door salesman sold DirectTV to my 91 year old mother-in-law

This salesperson representing Direct TV advised my mother-in-law he would save her over $40per month she is 91 years old and so she thought she would try it sine she's on a limited income. They had the service installed within 30 minutes, the guy had someone waiting outside ready to install it. First thing we had a storm and guess what, no reception. We called and called, someone was suppose to come out and move the dish, guess what still haven't seen this happen. Now she's ill and needs to move in with us, attempted to cancel, guess what $300 to cancel. I do not want this *** service installed on my house, Called and spoke with a supervisor, they advised we should have done something in July, we did. They do not give you a contract, it's a work order, the contract comes with your first bill. They advise we could cancel in the first 24 hours, i asked why she was not advised of that. Per Taumn we do not provide that information.

as far as reception goes, I experience the same problems virtually everyday. This outfit is the worst for this.

I have never seen a more pitiful outfit when it comes to delivering services. My advice is to RUN when approached by these salespeople in a store.

You are better off with a set of rabbit ears and some tinfoil.

LAST OCT. I CHANGED FROM DISH NETWORK TO DIRECT TV. WHEN I CALLED TO GET IT I ASKED IF I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET FOX SPORTS DETROIT AS WE WATCH THE DETROIT TIGERS GAME ALMOST EVERY NIGHT , I WAS TOLD AT THAT TIME THAT THE DETROIT, CHICAGO, AND CINCINNATI STATIONG WERE INCLUDED IN OUR PACKAGE. WE DIDNOT GET THEM SO I CALLED AND WAS TOLD THAT I COULD GET THE WITH THE PACKAGE BELOW THE ONE I HAD. WHICH WOULD BE CHEEPER. AS THE SEASON WAS OVER WE DECIDED TO WAIT UNTIL IT STARTED . TODAY I CALLED AND GOT A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ANSWER . THEY SAID IT WOULD COST ME 12.99 PER MONTH COMPARED TO 4.99 WITH DISH NETWORK. IF I HAD BEEN TOLD THIS WHEN I SIGNED UP I WOULD HAVE STAYED WITH DISH . I WAS NOT TOLD THE TRUTH FROM THE START.
