Directv in New York, New York - Direct TV HD Receiver

I called Direct TV Customer Service on January 12,2011 because my picture is either frozen or no picture at all. I have to reset the receiver 7 to 8 times a day. The Technician lead me through 30 minutes of troubleshooting and told me not to call back for that reason, she had posted the comments on my account. I called again on February 10 and had to go back through troubleshooting once again.I told them that I never received a new HD receiver from the beginning and need a new HD Receiver. I am leasing their equpment and was told If they sent a technician to my house it would be a cost.I feel this is unfair for me to pay to fix or replace their equipment. They take my money every month, where is my service?

We pay a monthly fee to cover any problems which occur in a DirecTV receiver system. They own the equipment, we just lease it on a monthly basis.

If a receiver breaks down however and we have to call a tech, they charge another fee to replace the receiver, and of course they extend your contract for another 24 months!

This is the most crooked company I ever delt with. I'm going to report them to the SCC, and FTC for whatever good that will do.

The sad thing is if you do get another receiver,your contract will be extended for another 2 yrs.

Directv in Anchorage, Alaska - False advertising from Direct TV

I have had Direct TV for several years and only because there is no other TV service in my remote area. I have had multiple billing errors with this company. I was offered free premium channels and then was charged for them. I was told I would be credited back but must pay that bill or they would send it to collections. I then did not receive a credit for 8 weeks which is their policy. I was promised a free movie and then was told I would get in the mail a certificate in 3 months. I relocated and was told Direct TV had no service in my area and that it the wait would be months. They did find another contract worker in a month to set up the system and I was told that I would get that month free. I was billed for it and when I refused to pay, they threatened collections. I have been told multiple times that a manager would return my call and none ever did. I also have slow internet in my remote area and cannot access their website due to their highly graphical site so I must order movies by phone and am charged an additional fee even though it is automated! Do not get service from Direct TV if there are other options. I would recommend this company to no one.

Directv in Everett, Washington - Direct TV-scams customer at signing

When we signed, we were promised at better deal. What we got was a bigger bill. Customer Service accused us of ordering the NFL Program, which we never even recieved. When they told me what channel it was on, we found we didn't even get the channel! yet it was thier word against ours, and even when we showed them we didn't get channel, they would no reimburse us. they were so rude, we canceled, then were fined over $700.0 for it. No justice,we were scammed, and forced to pay or risk bad credit. Never again.

Same thing happend to us !Direct Tv is the biggest scam company .It was a nightmare dealing with customer service after we didn't get the deal and chanels that we have been promissed.End up canselling the service and ruing my credit !

Your receiving modum has apparently failed as there in no longer a blue light as in the past. direct tv once again gains access to a bank account charging outrageous fees . someone needs to stop this! no one told me of a 300 dollar early termination fee when i upgraded! canceled my account and was charged over 700.00 dollars from my account . they did this without my permission.if there is a class action lawsuit against these underhanded poeple someone let me know , i will join today. also their product is horrible.again if anyone knows of a lawsuit pending for their conduct please let me know at jimmysenters@hotmail.com meanwhile i will keep fighting them starting at the better buisness bereau of indiana.

Read the whole article and do exactly as he says and you may get your money back

This is how I got my money back but mine was a credit card and with a bank you may need the arbitrator.

This is why you should always pay these company's with cash, pay by money order. This way they can't get your bank account or credit card.

Directv in Washington, District Of Columbia - Direct TV scammed me on a service change

In August, Direct TV called me to offer NFL Sunday Ticket at their regular price of $69.99 with my Premium package ($63.99) free for 5 months. They said if I did not want to continue with the NFL in the future I should call in December to cancel which I did. While on the phone to cancel they told me my Premium package was obsolete and recommended upgrading to a new package which I did. What they did not tell me was that when I canceled my old package, I voided the NFL with free monthly service offer. When I got my bill for December, it included the NFL package, my new regular package, and a prorated charge for the new package. When I called they told me it was my fault for misunderstanding the offer. Beware of these calls from Direct TV with special offers. It is a scam.

Horrible way of doing Business, I've had Direct TV for over 10 years, I've had a few things that have gone weong, the last one has me furious, the antenna wnt bad on me, so, they installed a new one Exactly where I told them Not to, now, here comes winter, I can't get a signal, It's been over a week and they can't promise when they can get a tech here to fix it, I explained the situation to them, they couldn't do anything for me, I'm handicapped and prevously would just open a window and clean off the dish when snow would accumulate on it, this time I trudged through waist high snow to clean the dish because they moved it where I told them not to

i have had to talk to 4 people , and i received 4 different answers about the price and cable boxes. your company was supposed to install the cable on 1/29/2011. someone in your office got the wrong address. the installer arrived at my house at 4;15pm on the 5th of feb. he was there until 9;15pm of the same day. he had to call 5 times to finally get all three boxes turned on at the same time. this was not a house i live in all the time, so i had to set there for 4.5 hours because someone in your office did not know what they were doing. i know he called, because i was there. then i had to drive 75 miles back home. between your salespersons and your techs, they should all be on the same page. when you talk to that many salespersons, and get that many different answers something is wrong. something should be done about this when someone has to go through this much trouble to get a price and installation. i really do not know if the system is working properly now. it was working when we left, but the installer and i were so tired we are not really sure. something like this should not have happened especially this many times

I have had Direct tv for a year and a half now and I feel like I have been in prison with this company. I will forget all the issues because there are so many! It began rght away when I signed the contract. My Dad and myself were suppose to get $100.00 for him referring me. We never got it! I'm in the military and this past summer I was sent to a 2 month training which my family came. I called direct tv and I was told I could freeze my account for 6 months. 6 weeks into my training my wife called me and said direct tv took $880.00 out of our bank acct. she told them about the freeze on the acct. they said they have no record of such freeze! they then told us in order to get our money back we would have to sign a new contract for 2 more years. once we returned home we turned the dvr box on and it wounded work properly, they charged us $50.00 to send a repair man out. Now it's February and we are still fighting for the money back! Today our DVR box stop working while we were watching a show. direct tv said the box was dead and all our recorded shows will be lost, it will take 2-3 days to get a new box and we will be charged $21.99 for shipping. every time I speak to a direct tv employee they are nasty! one time I said I can't wait to go back to cable and the operator started an argument with me and told me, knowone told your dumb A#$$ to get direct tv in the first place, go back to cable so we don't have to listen to your Bithching anymore! WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THESE NASTY PEOPLE!!!

Directv in Dallas, Texas - False advertisement

I was offered three promotional incentives. 1. NFL Channel for three months, the Show time channel and two $50 visa cards. When I couldnt see the NFL channel the following day of their service i was instructed to call customer service. After being on with them for over an hour time. I wasnt qualified because it was expired 2months ago. I receieve the Show time channel for only one month free not three as they originally quoted. The visa cards, when you received them please forward them to my home. Direct TV terms and conditions are false. Please do not get caught like i did.
