Directv in Saint Paul, Minnesota - Direct TV Makes me madddddd!
When I first got direct tv, a little over a year ago, I thought it was the best thing ever! I had a DVR receiver in 1 room and a basic receiver in another. My monthly bill was around $40 a month, Never had any issues with the signal and there was always something good to watch on the many channels I had to choose from. But everything came to an end real quick, when just a few weeks ago, I went out to purchase a brand new HD LED TV. Get home, set it all up and I call Direct TV to find out what I need to do to upgrade my DVR Receiver to an HD DVR Receiver. After making numerous calls, speaking to very rude customer service reps, I got a different answer every time. Pretty much telling me that I need to pay $300.00 for a new box, Plus $20 for shipping, plus $10.00 a month for the HD/DVR Service and then a new dish, which is another $50.00 and someone has to come out to get it all setup, Oh and I have to make sure to send back my old DVR Receiver. Also becasue of this, I would have to sign a new 2 year contract. By the time this was all done and said, my monthly bill was going to go up to around $90.00 a month. Nobody could do anything to make it cheaper. That was the best price they could do! So I canceled my Direct TV, Paid my cancellation fee of $60 and went with Dish Network. Got an HD DVR receiver in one room, DVR receiver in the other. Have over 300 channels plus HD for free for life. My total bill is $35 a month. Good Bye Direct TV. Learn how to keep your current customers.
Directv in Atlanta, Georgia - Direct tv going to *** in a handbasket
They charged me an early cancellation fee, after they drafted my wife's account for 425.00$ made me send in the receivers even though I paid the bill and wanted to keep services, and then told me I would have to pay 200$ to lease the receivers the second time around after almost two years of committed service. Or they would keep my refund that they still have yet to pay and apply it towards two months of service and as of now I owe them nothing.... They owe my wife, they drafted her account and she is not on my direct tv account nor am I on her checking account so watch out married couples we were three weeks late to pay the bill after I lost my job....
Directv in Allenton, Michigan - Switching to Direct TV was a huge mistake!
Direct TV customer service is TERRIBLE! They promise great rates for a year, but what they don't tell you is that you have to fill out a rebate BEFORE the technician comes to install. I made the mistake of giving them our debit card number, (which we will change) to auto debit our account. Our first bill came and it was double what it was supposed to be! I called and they were so rude and refused to do anything about it! We had dish network for 10 years before that. I guess we didn't know how good we had it.
Directv in Lebanon, Oregon - Direct tv is a rip off
you people are a joke....desperate and your service and stations are repeated and repeated, service goes out all time, which you never deduct for, but if i am behind i month you shut it off before it is even due on the second months bill. Take your rip off service and keep it, it wont be missed. I will in turn be sure to tell all my friends what a lousy provider for tv stations you are. Cant even provide any local channels, or new shows it is always the same ones over and over again, for months on end.
Directv in Houston, Texas - Direct Tv are theives !! *(caution)
YEAH, "it really will change your life." they took 528.00 out of my account because they had my card on file and tried to run it for 750.00. i did NOT give them authrization for this transaction, and this is debit/credit card theft!! They should recieve criminal charges on this and be procescuted for running my card without my consent. If a scammer does it on the street, he's arrested and charged. Do not give direct tv your credit card #. THEY WILL RUN IT LIKE ITS THEIRS. his made me late for my rent and cost me late fees. //////////* If i can save sombody else the headache i ex[erienced...I will tell my story over and over until they change their unethical practices..///////////////
Directv in Washington, District Of Columbia - Direct TV lies
I tried to do something nice for my dad's 82nd birthday, by giving him Direct TV. I asked for the new customer promotion they were offering. They told me I couldn't have it cause I was an existing customer. I asked to speak with someone higher up and complained then that person offered several discounts to match the promotional offer. Well that never happened. They conveniently forgot what they promised, even though they take notes on every conversation. They refused to send me a confirmation email at the time. They stated that they did not have the capability to send emails. They have been overcharging me for months. What was supposed to be a $49.00 a month charge is now $91.00 a month. Now they say I was never eligible for the discounts they promised and I'm stuck with it.
Directv in Reston, Virginia - Smart Circle/Direct TV never got my billing right, I have paid too much up front and first two month
I feel that Smart Circle/Direct TV took advantage of a senior citizen and charged me too much, made me sign up for a 2 year contract with their promises/lies, just recently by filing complaints I received my $140 credit due in 2010 for Sam's Club and for referring a customer to Direct TV. I was being denied this all year. Now I asked for the new promo I need for 2011 as promised, expressed, and implied. I am refused it due to getting my past due credit applied. I even took out a 24 month service agreement in time with Smart Circle. Direct TV or Smart Circle is giving me the cost/promo I was promised for the second year and yet I get brochures/offers everyday in the mail from Direct TV. It has all been a year of fraud and continues as I see it at my expense. I want another promo for $30 for 2011 as I was promised.
Directv in Reston, Virginia - Direct TV is a Joke
I want everyone to know about my horrible experience with Direct Tv. On November 15,2010 I placed an order and paid for service and equipment. I was told that the equipment would be installed on the 16th of November between the hours of noon and 4pm. So, I took time off from work to meet the equipment installer. At 2pm on the 16th the installer called and informed me he was running late and he would be at my residence around 4:30. At 6pm I was still waiting on him to show up. Finally at 8pm I called him to find out where he was. He then informed me that it was too late for him to do an installation. Guess it didn't matter to him or Direct TV that I took time off to accomodate them. He then said he would have his supervisor reschedule the installation. This didn't happen either. After several calls to their 800 number as of December 1st I still did not have the equipment installed nor any clue as to when they would even be able to do the installation. So after 15 days of absolutely getting nowhere I cancelled my account. What was so funny was that I explained to the young man at Customer Service what had happened and he wanted to know what they could do to make things right. My comment was ...do you honestly think I would even consider keeping my account with you *** after the way I've been treated. Give me a break. I can honestly say without a doubt that the service I received from Direct TV is the worst I have ever had in my 57 years. I would give them a consumer rating of -100
Directv in Salt Lake City, Utah - Snow on satelite dish. How do we keep it off?
Every time we get a significant snow storm I have to climb a latter and scrap snow off of the dish in order to get reception. When your technitions installed our dish they placed it over the kitchen at least 10 feet off of the ground (on a hill with bedding plants and bushes below the dish), instead of above the deck (with a flat surface) which would have made it about 7 feet and much easier to get to. There must be a cover or something to keep the snow off of the dish. This must be a common problem in most areas of the country which receive a lot of snow.
Directv in Caldwell, Texas - Direct TV is a Rip Off!
I have been a customer with Direct TV since 12/2007. I got a letter in the mail stating my receiver needed to be updated. I called and they sent a svs tech out a week later. I then opened ANOTHER account at my mothers house 12/2009. My mother became ill and is no longer at the household. I called Direct TV to get the account witdrawed. They said they would charge me a termination fee of 220.00. EVEN tho I have another account STILL opened since 2007. You would think they could take into consideration that we have been a paying customer since 2007. I then said, "then just cancel our order and transfer my mothers cable to our house and we would continue from there." They said, "We can't do that because when you upgraded you satellite your contract started all over again!" WOW They never mentioned that in the letter that was sent out. WHAT THE ***?
