Diretv show the same thing over and over I like old tv movies like tcm and amc fox movie channel all the old movies that you have why do you keep repeating the same movies I fell we pay enough all ready it is soooo boring I was laid off about a year ago and every once in ablue moon I get to see a good old movie. EVERY month you pople show the same old thing , do somthing different I'm thing about changing to another company for cable TV I know its alot people like me out there.

i am the mother of the house that had the problem, i have been with you company over 4 years and had a damage claim, they never paid what they were suppost to, or put on my bill,when your guy came to hook us up, he broke a waterline,and we were without water for 2 days with small children, this was in the process of movin,also he lied an said he didn;t break it..my plumer said that he had to know because he shut the vavle off where the water was coming out.your company said that i would get a check in the mail or put it on my directv bill.well it never happened.matthew leon,170 twerp trl estillsprings tn 37330,plz put tv back on foe childrens sake!!!

Directv in Dallas, Texas - Direct TV ripped me off and lied

I initially had an HD TV with the direct tv HD receiver, my HD tv went out, I called them and direct tv told me I had to complete a years worth of service before I could switch out receivers, in the meantime I hooked up an older model tv that doesnt have HD capability and continued to pay the $10.00 per month, now its been a year, I called them back and they had the nerve to tell me I would have to buy another receiver for $69.95. What kind of mess is that. That is unfair!

If you accept another receiver, I do believe you are extending your contract for another 2 years (this is considered an upgrade).They will not volunteer this info and if you try to cancel service they will automatically charge your bank or credit card early cancellation fees($20 for every month left on contract)+ nonreturned equipment fees and then you will have the problem of trying to get your money refunded.Be Wise read the other complaints about DTV and you will be able to make a better decision as to what to do about your situation.

You are lucky if they only wanted to charge $69.95 for a new box. The usual price when this happens is $99.00.

So they cut you a break.

Google Direct TV lawsuits. They are being sued by state attorney generals for all kinds of shady rip offs.

Directv in Panama City, Florida - Offensive theft of films commercial

I find that the commercial depicting the theft of films from a projection booth extremely offinsive. Particularly shootin a dart at a defenseless kid apparently killing him. What were you thinking. I am a retired ad exec, and I would fire my agent for suggesting this abomination. What next if you need the 25 bucks to pay for it why not stick up a 7 11. This appears to me that rather than recruit new customers to Direct TV it would lead them to your competitors. I have been telling anyone within earshot to boycott a product that is so insensitive and tasteless.

Why does everybody I know who has direct tv pay $5.00 for their DVR and I was quoted $7.00? Why did they tell me that I could get a free DVR player after a year and now it is $25.00 (was $100 till I did a little talking to a person who barely spoke English)? And why did the price go up so much after a year? Why did they shut the Tennis Channel off after I specifically said that was the most important channel that I wanted? If I do get a DVR player why do I have to sign another two year contract? I'm finishing my year and they can come unscrew their fancy dish and stuff it where they'll probably lose their satellite signal forever! he he. What a ripoff.

Same old story...39.99 month great! First bill 80.99 called customer service and they are saying up to six months for rebate to kick in. Um so until it kicks in I have to pay the $80 per month? They tell me yes or cancel and pay a 500 fee. Stay AWAY from direct tv or ask for everything up front, I filed a complaint with the BBB and the FTC but I am sure I am screwed. Someone needs to file a Class action Ill join! just another big company saying *** little people what can you do

I signed up for the 39.99 package, did the rebate, bill after bill was told their was no record of my rebate. It's a total scam.

they have a D rating with the BBB.

I sent back the equipment and will not pay any further bills, no way, nor the $500 cancellation fee. I am looking to join a class action lawsuit because this scam is so obvious that it is insulting.

Sounds as though you are wise to their game and you are 100% correct! Be wise for future reference make sure they do not have access to your bank account or credit card #(change these if necessary) and do not have autopay with DTV.

Directv in Longview, Texas - Direct TV Varified Then Changed Install Date

My account number is #3181867 and I was given an Install date and due to a Direct computer glitch they want to change it. I have a document email showing my install date as Oct27th. It is bad customer service to inconvience the customer for a Direct TV problem. The CS agents say they are powerless to change the date. I am a member of a nationwide media. It's seems like I am not the only customer who has had problems with their install date being changed. I need to see if Direct TV is going to rule in favor of the customer instead their computers. We are having the same problem with Direct TV - first it tood a week to get an install date and then they pushed the date from Wednesday to the following Monday then the following Wednesday. So their Customer Service Promises are worthless

Directv in Magnolia, Texas - Refused to honor rebate agreement.

I agreed to a 2 year contract with the understanding that I would receive a $29.00 per month rebate for a 24 month period. After 2 months I called and was advised that it would take 2 to 3 months for the rebate to show on the billing. After 4 months I called and was advised that they would not honor the rebate. It appears that is a company policy to refuse to honor their rebate policy. They don,t honor their contract, I will contest any cancellation fee. I am switching to Dish and will retain an attorney if I am charged a cancellation fee. Carl Beard

What they will do is charge your credit card/bank account that they have on file for you and you will have the problem of trying to get your money returned.Best thing to do is immediately close the account they have on file for you before you cancel service with DTV.Then let DTV try and collect from you then contest the charges.

Directv in Los Angeles, California - Auto renew is not listed in my contract

The congress along with the FCC is reviewing these kinds of Auto Renew actions. They do not mention in my 15 year contract any provision to Auto Renew anything. I have not approved this procedure, nor have I been informed in writing that authorized them to do so. I have filled an FCC complaint. This simply an autocratic way for them to increase revenue. My solution was to have my account blocked on any ordering of any kind As of 10-20-2010 they Auto Renewed "NHL $42.95" which I am disputing with Direct TV Billing deparment and Version

DirectTV has been doing this ever since they have been in business and this has been many years . Congress and the FCC, The BBB, the banks and Credit card co's acts as though they don't know what DTV is doing or how to stop them.(Certainly a little money under the table does not hurt)DirectTV lives by their own set of rules (nevermind noone knows what these rules are except DirectTV) and everyone must abide by these rules or else.The only sure solution I see is to get rid of DirectTV ASAP and never get involved with them again.
