Directv in Gainesville, Florida - Direct TV sent fraudulent bill

In July of this year I called and cancelled my Direct TV. At that time they offered me same service for $20 a month less. I told them NO. With the college football season starting I called them in September to see if they would give me the same deal. They told me they would only take $10 a month off my bill. I told then NO and to keep my service off. Yesterday I received a bill from Direct TV for $117 and change. When I called them they said I would have to pay the bill. I never approved the service being restarted. I have the name and agent # of the person I spoke to. Direct TV will RIP YOU OFF! Guess I'll have to go thru the hassel of arbitration and possible small claims court. I've paid these people for many years and this is how I'm treated? You'll be sorry if you do business with Direct TV

Directv in Los Angeles, California - Stealing money from my bank account

Cancelled our Directv on July 18th 2010 as our home was foreclosed on. Told we would only have to pay a $38.00 fee and early cancellation fee would be waived. First big lieamoung many. Directv continued to bill after July 18th but forgot to send me the "bill". I returned both boxes and remotes in perfect condition. Have pictures and tracking info. On October 13, 2010 they decided to help themselves to $300.00 out of my account- as I was at the vet having to but my cat to sleep. You can imagine how much more distraught I became as the girls in the office came to tell me my card was declined because of this disgusting company. I am not even on the contract - just pay the bill on occasion out of my account. I now have received 2 bills on 10-14-2010 $172.10 and $137.68 due 10/29/2010.No explanation - nothing. I own an internet radio station that receives more than 1 million hits a month and have decided I feel the need to mount a consumer revolt against this company.It's easy for me to set up another chanel to broadcast from regarding this company.Remember I am not even on this contract.I know it only takes 5 people for a class action suit. Ok "Undercover Boss" see how the consumer really feels about your company - good job - show this on TV. You get nowhere on the phone - totally useless. They just tell you sorry no refund. Why do we allow companies like this to do business as the hurt so many people? Even their own employees don't stick around long.Time to put an end to this abuse.I am more than pissed.

I would love to help revolt against this company. They need to be shut down and held accountable for what they are doing to so many people. I wish the FBI would put catch on!

This is so TRUE, they are stealing money from people I heard about that previously but I was so *** to sign the agreement. I agreed to pay under $50 monthly and since first month they are charge me over $60 every month.

When I called a several times they said "SORRY, WE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT" and next month they are charging me even more.

This is ridiculous!!! :(

:upset direct tv has been notorius for just helping themselves to funds out of people's bank accounts. as a matter of fact, they stole $600.00 out of my finace's brother's account.

I had told him not to get directv, that he would be scammed and that they are liars and thives. he called us and said we were right. the best thing to do would be to cancel your credit card FIRST, then cancel the service, because the second you call and cancel, they yank that money out.

im soooo glad i have the COX bundle. its not on a contract, the internet is amazingly fast, and ive never had a problem with my phone service.

i give directv a million thumbs down!

Directv in Portsmouth, New Hampshire - Direct TV no service or customer service

I was set to receive my direct tv on saturday when the technician arrived and said he could not install due to the weather and lack of proper ladder. no problem. On day two they arrived and said that they could not install due to lack of proper ladder and cables. Customer service relayed this to the technician supervisor who would be contacting me within the hour to hopefully, install our cable. An hour goes by and no phone call from the supervisor. I then called direct tv again and they assured me that a supervisor would be contacting me to take care of the issue. Again, no phone call. It is quite pathetic how direct tv sub-contracts all of their installations instead of taking control of their own installations. I was excited to become a direct tv customer but now I will never be a customer due to lack of service. I will now place an order with verizon fios who actually have verizon people do their installations. As for the direct tv installation supervisor for the far rockaway, ny area, man up or enjoy unemployment because you should be fired for the lack of any service. Anyway, I hate complaining but I have now become an advocate against direct tv. No one should have to deal with such a lousy television company. All the best on your downward spiral out of the game. this company ***, they do not honor thier contracts !!!!!!!! i was speaking to customer service when Sondra employee # 410964 & Rebecca employee # 440446 actually huing up on me while i was speaking with them after spending an hour on the phone with them !!!~!!! i am furious with direct tv. i have been a customer for years and always paid my bill on time. i own a marble and granite business and would never treat my customers with the disrespect i have had to experience in dealing with direct tv. i strongly advise nobody to ever have any dealings with direct tv!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope i have said enough for even a *** to not want to deal with these people!~!!!

Directv did not honor contract in doubling charges.

They didn't call or show up on install date which I had registered on line with there repersentive.I then called them and got another install date 4 days later.There 1st billing was more than double what was agreed on.I call again to question charges and was told by a foreign employe I might recieve a credit in 8 weeks,but she could not say for sure and could be charged double next month as well.I only had service for 10 days,but was told there is a $180.00 cancel fee.and now am stuck with fraudulant charges for 2 years..God blss america home of the free................

I recieved advertisment for direct tv,, and thaught with the football season on I would inquire. I was told no obligation all I want was some prices and availability in our area. I would discuss this with my husband,, Yes, no problem,, I gave them my credit card,, very poor judgment on my part,,, just in case I wanted the service . Next the tech was @ my door.. after 6 phone calls,, I could not explain any more IT WAS AN INQUIRY,,, NOW I GOT A CHARGE FOR 21.20 WHY???????? please do not be fooled it is a scam. Talk about poor service.. may I add every time I needed a supervisor It was a minimum hold of 55 mins,,, then the wrong department.. LOSS OF 4 hours,, they should pay ME

I have been a customer for 13 years. I finally got upgraded to whole house HD. What a disaster. I have been told more lies than I can count. The sales representatives do not know what they are talking about. Don't believe them when they tell you that you only need one HDDVR and that you can recorders from receivers on the other TV's. I had 2 DVRs but was told that with the new system I would need only one DVR and a receiver on the second tv. That was only the beginning. They came out and installed the wrong kind of dish so the had to send another tech to upgrade the dish. Now I can only record 2 programs downstairs and 0 programs upstairs. It costs me more for less recording capability. I was told that I could record 2 and watch a program live all on the same TV. Not true. I would have to go upstairs just like I do now.

Also be careful if you have a grandfathered programing package.

When the technician called to have the multi-room viewing (mrv) system activated the person tried to tell me that I had to "upgrade" to a package that cost more but isn't as good as the package I have. He said there was nothing he could do. But since we were arguing for 10 minutes on the phone and I was saying to cancel everything it took so long that the activation showed up on the TV even as he was saying it wasn't possible.

All of this was after first being told that I could have free HD for life, then being told it was $10 a month, and finally being told I could get it free for 2 yrs if I signed a contract and signed up for autopay (which I already have).

I don't know what has happened to DirectTV but they truly suck now....at least the sales department. They really don't know what they are talking about, and everyone tell you something different. The techs were great.

I will be shopping for another service when my 2 years are up. Too bad Dish programming isn't anywhere nearly as good as the programming I get now. If they step up their programming, I will be switching.

I'm a disatisfied comsumer..and calling them doesn't even get me a superviser...And yes I asked and was told they don't have one ..... so when my contract is up.. I will take my business elsewhere !!!!!!!!!!!! You all really should focus on comsumers , I was told quite a few lies by your workers.... I surely wasn't 1st with customer service....A LOT of retraining of the upper management is sorely needed..Put customers first.. After all the calls I've made my final complaint is you can not veiw a movie you purchased on all t.v.s only the one you paid for it on... so I won't be using the feature because I don't get my moneys worth....

your company took monies from my account they didn't live up to the contract and wanted me to pay for their mistake from april to july they kept sending me past due bill but never sent me a real bill their reason for not sending a real bill was they had the wrong address if they had the wrong address then how were they able to send me a past due bill therefor they got into my bank account without my permission and took $394.78 out i don't think i had to pay for their wrong doing they should have call but then all the times i talked to them they were the rudest people i will never recomend dtv to anyone all the people i know that have dtv i told about and most of them have left your company right before this happened they told me i owed on 7/12/10 according to your rep i owed $132.66 i would be paid in full on 7/25/10 if i was paid up in full why did i get a bill for $151.76 another past due bill- answer me why?i talked to angelia in billing and she confremed that i was paid in fulli don't feel i had to paid late charged for the company's mistake thank you please return answer on e-mail---grimriper50@yahoo.comg

Directv in Canton, Georgia - I was a customer for 4 years

I had problems with recievers and reception. I called them twice before canceling. I made sure that I was under no contractual agreement. I did this twice, they said no, that I had fullfilled all agreements and time limits. I canceled my auto pay and went with dishnetwork. They have been harassing me with law suites for $91.38 for months now. Which I do not owe. I sent back equipment via their boxes they had sent to me. What the heck is wrong with this company? I don't owe them a single penny, yet I just received another call from there attorneys this morning.
