Directv in Washington, District Of Columbia - Direct TV charged me for not being able to move my service

I moved to an apartment building that does not allow attachments of any kind to the top of the building, so Direct TV could only put an antenna by my apartment but I could not get reception with the antenna being placed there, so Direct TV told me that I was responsible for either keeping my service (which does not work) or paying the $260 fee for early termination of the service. They said that this was not their problem, so therefore, it is my problem. They have fine print in the agreement which states that the consumer is responsible for situations such as this.

i want to move my service from one address to another one. i signed up on the 20th of december 2009.

There paperwork states that i get a free move after 12 month. I payed for a move 4 month after i had it installed.

now i am moving on the 28th of december and they want a $199 fee for moving my service. they state that they have a unwritten policy that the 12 month is from the last move even after i payed for the move.

Directv in Buffalo, New York - Will not stand up to any advertised facts

Direct TV good one to stay away from. I pay for it at a camp ground, which means that it is on suspension for winter months. If I move to a camp where they supply a cable tv, Direct wants to charge me a fee of 300.00. I just inquired about moving my dish staying in the same *** address , but a different site. They want to charge me 49.95 to move their grap. I would not recommend this a------ company to any human. They advertise a commercial where people are moving out of state across town blah blah blah, and they state that do not worry about taking your dish, we will take care of it and hook you up free!!!! HAH what a crock of *** I would like to see them get sued for false advertising.

Why don't you just cancel the HBO and Showtime? I used to subscribe but got sick of seeing the same movies over and over too but just cancelled the services.

There is nothing Directv can do about the programming that HBO and Showtime line up.

Ask someone who doesn't have Directv but subscribes to HBO or Showtime, they get the SAME programming so this is not Directv's fault! :roll

Directv in Seattle, Washington - Direct TV Alleged "Customer Service"

Our HD began to malfunction so we contacted Direct TV. After repeated troubleshooting we were told it was the card, and were told it was the card. We finally received the new card. It did not help. We again called Direct TV. We endured another long, drawn-out process of re-checking and were advised it was actually the receiver, but the rep couldn't help us because of computer problems so we'd have to call back later. We called back the next day and went through the entire process again. We were promised a new receiver. It never arrived. After three weeks we called back. Not only was there no record of the previous calls, the customer service rep was rude, surly, and couldn't find our order, but said it was our fault because we didn't have the order confirmation number. When I asked to speak to someone else she hung up the phone. She was not the least bit interested in helping us. They're reps are disrespectful, inpatient, uninterested and inexcusable.

Get in touch with your bank and ask them if you can reverse the charges on DirectTv tell them you did not authorize DTV to deduct this from your account! Some banks will let you do this others won't. If they do you may have to close the account to keep DTV from reapplying the charges.you can settle with the bank later. If your bank won't let you do this, get in touch by phone with your local "troubleshooter" your local newspaper or local tv stations has one and explain your situation to them.I hope this helps

Directv in Washington, District Of Columbia - Im pissed too

I called direct tv to get service at my new appartment after having service with direct tv for almost 2 years. They were unable to "find reception" at my place and could not hook it up. I had bought the cable boxes and asked what i should do with them since i didnt need the anymore. They said send them back and i would be reimbursed IN FULL for the purchase price wich was around 600 dollars. they ended up charging me 200$ rly disconnect. Fine. then i was supposed to get a check for the remaining wich was over 300 dollars. That was july 3rd.I called at the beginning of september to check the status, they said it my refund was mailed out on 8/31/10 i gave it 2 weeks and called them because nothing was recieved. now it iss september 23 now and apperenty the account was updated on september 10th and now i have to wait another 6-8 weeks for reimbursment? wtf?

Since August my experience with DTV changed as I feel that I was lied by your management staff to as an entrapment to sign into a contract again. I was promised for 6 months $20.00 off and Free DVR service $7.00 for 12 months.

Instead this month your staff continues to deny my credits and your \"Floor Managers\" continue to disrespect me and continue to be unhelpful. This is going to be a legal matter as a requested to speak with someone higher that a floor manager but he told me that he will not allow me to talk to his supervisor. I can see the big headlines on a newspaper country wide that reds \"DTV lies to get you to lock into a contract!!!\" This will definitely catch the eyes of many other customers that are in my position right now.

I would like a DTV Regional Manager to call me as this matter should lead to legal actions. :(

Chrystal... If you had service for nearly 2 years I don't believe the disconnect charge should be $200.

It is $20 for every month left on your contract.

DTV also loves to keep putting you off hoping you will just forget the money and they will keep offering excuse after excuse. If they took the early cancellation fee out of your credit card you have the right to dispute or if taken out of your bank account you can ask your bank if you can dispute the charges.Whichever account they used,if your money is returned you may need to close the account to prevent DTV from recharging the account.I'd file complaints online with BBB,FTC and your Attorney General.tell them exactly what happened with dates and what you expect the outcome to be also, you may want to contact your local "troubleshooter" with a local tv station or newspaper.Good Luck!

DIRECTV sucks

We have had directv for nearly 10 years. This year decided to upgrade to DVR so I ordered a DVR receiver. No big deal right? Hahaha...well after 3 days I received my order. My incorrect order. I was sent a HD DVR in stead of a DVR. But after talking to customer service they assured me everything would be ok. So they activated the HD DVR. Well as our satellite is 10 years old it was not HD compatible so now i'm using a receiver that only gets maybe 35% of the channels I pay for. So whats is their fix? Send out a technician to install a new satellite...next week I might add...ok but i dont pay for HD????. Oh well I will need to now!! So they want to tack on $10/month for HD that i didnt want in the first place. Cancel my order, my service??? HA!! Well I can for a $480 cancellation fee. Seems that if you upgrade a receiver you unknowingly also agree to a new 2 year commitment!!! Oh my God!! Quite possibly the worst customer service I've ever dealt with, anywhere. No wonder they're #2 behind dish network. I'll be cancelling my service in 2 years and switching to dish network.

you could have gone through the menu to hide the hd channels.you still can.If the work order was wrong, then shame on you for allowing the tech to continue to set up something you didnt want.

I know DTV is absolutely the worst! but Dish has gotten a lot of complaints lately concerning the same issues as DTV! Seems Dish is taking lessons from DTV and using them to rip off their customers in the same manner as DTV.

After reading many, many complaints I have come to the conclusion that DTV allows only a few people to receive the rebates (maybe a few people to prove they actually do the rebates) while most do not get rebates from DTV. DTV keeps putting off most people or promising them that it is all taken care of or will be and all of a sudden they tell you it is too late that you did not do so and so in the allowed amount of time. The biggest kicker is that if you have any equipment upgrade throughout your contract even if for non working equipment that extends your contract another 2 yrs
