Directv in Gilmer, Texas - Not keeping there price as promised. bad customer service.. hold to long
I began using direct tv in march of this year.. so far they have missed the appointment time... iv over paid on the bill.. because they didn't keep there word.. iv been on hold for a long period of time.. and they have yet to fix the issue.. they rather just disconnect service instead of resolving it... I'm not sure who trains these people on customer service but they need fired... will people here back from a reppersenitive ??????? After reading all the complaints listed here, I wasn't surprised at all. After 10 months of going through 2 hour phone calls every month because my bill was always different and nobody here orders pay per view???I had told them that I would be moving and going back to cable, when I told her that she informed me of that b.s. $400 cancellation FEE OHH NOW, I got pissed really pissed and tired of talking to walls,I WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT THAT FEE! Ok, that's it I took off the gloves and reported them to the BBB and guess what I got a call from a mang from DTV apologizing about everything. He reviewed my acct and numerous amount of phone calls I made to them and put me at a leveled monthly price of $79.99 with all the movie channels and hdtv included on a month to month basis no cancelation fee and when I move if I stay with them nothing will change and there will be no additional charges for the move either. I haven't moved yet and I haven't made up my mind either if I'm going to stay with them OR NOT.mY ADVICE TO YOU IS DONT WASTE AS MUCH TIME AS i DID CALL YOUR LOCAL BBB! We can not let them scam us like this anymore.FIGHT BACK!!!!!
DirecTV is Unethical
DirecTV has got to be the most unethical company I have ever dealt with!! I have yet to pay the advertised price, it's always more. DirecTV doesn't have to use underhanded means to rip off the consumer, they do have a good product/programming. I have used cable, Dish Network and DirecTV in the past, and with the latter being, by far, the most unethical of the bunch. They will add programing without the consumer's knowledge. As well, they will give you free offer that is open ended, and the consumer will be responsible to stop the additional viewing or you will pay. For example, they gave the NFL package at no charge, but little did I know that once in place, you will be billed for the whole season at hundreds of dollars for the season, and I don't watch football. Once the season begins, the consumer is locked in, and you have to pay, or loose service. Now, their scam is, three months free view of STARZ, but the catch is, if you don't jot down the end of the three months, and terminate STARZ, guess what(?). Yep, they will automatically start billing you at the end of the three month free view. DirecTV's come back will be, that information was provided to you, via small print on your bill, and/or the fine print on an email. I WOULD NOT recommend DirecTV.
Directv in San Antonio, Texas - Mover's Connection is a Lie!
My husband and I are military and we got Direct TV in January. The military decided to move us to another house on the same base. We saw the commericial for the "free" mover's connection. Direct TV claims they will move you and set your service up free of charge. Well, when we called they told me that the fee is $50 upfront. We are in a contract so we had no option but to pay. I emailed a complaint to customer service over a week ago, but no one responded. I switched to Direct TV because I was sick and tired of the hidden fees. Now, I'm getting that familiar feeling of being ripped off.
Directv in Los Angeles, California - Direct TV Remotes can't be programmed!
I have had direct tv service for about 2 years. I use Direct TV leased equipment. Recent both remotes broke almost simultaneously. The little slide button at the top of the remote broke while attempting to program the remote. Called Direct TV to request new remotes and there response was you must purchase new remotes for $15. I could see if I dropped it or some other trauma but this was just normal usage and it broke. They should replace for free. They are making enough money from all who have dtv. Very sad! I think consumers should rise up and file class actions against this company for bad practices and service. :o)
Directv in Tulsa, Oklahoma - Direct TV failed to meet their obligations
Your company promised to install my HD DTV today, 11 Aug between 12:00 and 4:00 pm. Not only did no one come install the equipment, no one had the common courtesy to provide me with a phone call so I would not lose a day of pay. A day of pay for me is $447.00. While I am willing to lose this for the purpose of the installation, I cannot lose this to sit around the house waiting on your company when there is NO INTENTION of coming to the house to install per your promise. I left Dish Network to utilize your services because, I thought, you provided a better product with better customer service. I find that this is not the case. It seems that you have no sense of urgency when dealing with a customer your company completely failed. I intend to file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well as a small claims complaint for the lost day of wages. Having been put off for two weeks for an installation, the excuse that there is no equipment available is wrong.
Directv in New York, New York - Music changes
regarding changes to direct tv music, xm music on the down side we seem to have lost a lot of good artists, some music categories seem very blurred, and some music channels seem to repeat too much, used to be every eight hours and they changed every couple of weeks, now they repeat on a six or less hour rotation and it seems to be the same for like a MONTH. Also, in the past, when music was playing the artist information was at the bottom of the screen. Then they changed it to a brief display that repeated every half minute or so. Sometimes it is displayed only at the beginning or end of a song. Sometimes, several times an hour, the screen remains completely blank and we don't EVER know who the artist was. On the plus side, to be fair, the channel called New Age has a ton of Native American artists. While that's a strange place to put this genre of music, in a place where you will pretty much guaranteed to find it only by accident,like I did, AND most of this type music is on in the middle of the night, at least it is there and this is the only channel anywhere on any service except Sirius I can find this music. Quick pop in your tapes and writable DVD before Direct TV change their minds YET AGAIN... They have gotten rid of a lot of the DJ's on the TV side, thank goodness I found it all really annoying as did many of you. What's up with the category selection on pissedconsumkers, I had to use 'communication' and then 'wireless' as I could find no place for satellite tv service. grrr...
Directv in Norfolk, Virginia - Was suppose to come hook up new systen and left me hanging two weeks in a row
WE have had a account with you for over 10 years. we were trying to install new system for our new high definition tv . Two weeks in a row after we took off from work at the last minute we were told that you did not have the equipment.Being as big of a company as your are why would you not have the equipment and if you didnt have it then why make apppointments for us. We were also told the the service man called us at 6;30 that morning but we never recieved any phone call and it was not on our caller id on phone or tv. The company acted like our time was not important. My husband now wants to go to another satellite system because of your rudness and the fact no one seems to care.We never recieved a apology or anything else. we were treated as if our account there and our time was not important.
Directv in Livermore, California - Untouchable Thives Direct TV STOLE My Money
I cancelled my direct tv in June 2010 and mailed my unit back on June 20. Checking the shippers tracking number I found out they received it on June 23. July 15 I received a notice stating I would be charged if I didn't return their receiver. So I called and was assured that they got the receiver and wouldn't be charged. July 27 I was sent a notice that they stole $192.00 from my bank account. I never authorized them to take any money out of my account, the way they got my number was because a few times we paid electronicly. I called again and was told my account would be returned in 2 days. 2 days later I called again, money would be returned in 4 days. 4 days later I called, now it would 8 to 10 days. It is now 2 days later and I got a call they put in my claim and it will be 8 to 10 days until I get my money. I have tried to talk to someone in athority and am either quoted the policy where they have the right to steel money or they don't have a number that I can call. They tell me I can send a letter that no one will ever read. Or will be read as a joke and ignored. I plan on filing a complaint to the DA, BBB, Consumer Affairs, and anyone else I think of. And am looking for an attorney. They sit in their offices untouchable and getting rich on money that's not theirs. Pretty slimy people.
Directv in Minneapolis, Minnesota - My reception goes out freq. with rain, storm, maybe even a light breeze. The guy lied
I'm disappointed in Direct TV, as it goes out freg. with rain, storm or light breeze, even. The guy who sold me this lied in saying there was only one complaint last year about reception. I find that hard to believe. I went to Comcast from Dish for this exact reason. I guess the "There are now 4 satelites" for better reception was an untruth. It hasn't improved one bit. Why in this day and age of high tech, can't the reception weather the storm, so to speak? Also, I didn't get the $50.00 Visa card I was suppose to get. I called 3 times and never got a person who spoke English I could understand. Either I was too early or too late. I would think in taking concerns on the phone, speaking and understanding English would be a priority. I went on-line and couldn't find that particular rebate. After all, this is an English-speaking country. I would expect to speak French in France. Oh well, there is no common-sense anymore. All in all, it was a complete disaster. I'm not even sure what I'm paying is correct according to the sales guy. In calling, The person couldn't understand me and I her.
