Yeah. Getting the error 771A.

Guess this has to do with the little converter box with the green light. It must be defective, but dirctv wants me to pay a monthly coverage fee or pay a one time fee to send a tech. I didn't break it........it's defective. You'd think that this equipment would be under warranty while I'm under contract.

Maybe I'm paying for second hand *** that was already used. That better not be the case. Why in the *** should I have to pay for faulty equipment while I'm under contract. That's like a land lord telling the renter to fix the *** furnace themselves.

That extra 5.99 that they are getting from me till August is going to cost them a lot more once I'm gone. Hope it's worth it!

Directv in Salt Lake City, Utah - How long do i have to wait for repairs

We have been direct tv costumers for years, we have 6 receivers with all the channels, all the bells and whistles etc., this is not cheap! Saturday all receivers went out and trouble shooting over the phone got us no where. The earliest a technician can come is next saturday. This is ludacrist, i could have another company install all new service before then. When i called again to see if an earlier appt. was available i was told the local company would call, she couldn't even give me a phone number for the local service, i'm disgusted with direct tv

Directv - Direct TV Poor Service Houston

Well here in Houston these guys have hit rock bottom. First appointment showed up with no gear but wanted to upsell us something we did not want. We rescheduled. Second appointment complete no show said someone had cancelled the appointment. Third appointment called after we waited 3.5 hours to say they did not have the boxes for our TVs. After we called repaetedly they finally admitted they had no employees in Houston (only the 4th largest city in the US) and it was all handled by subcontrators who, apparently, they have no control over. Take my advice TV is not so important so as to deal with these liars. I am heading back to cable, not as much service, but has human elements in Houston.

Directv lied about total price

After going back and forth, dtv offered us our same package but with new receiver at the same price. they lied. our first bill was a lot higher. then they refused to cancel our subscription. they are liars. horrible liars. when we made the deal, it was for a simple package that we had for years. however, we needed a new receiver as ours was very old and worn out. we are on a fixed budget. if they couldnt comply with our terms, we were going to call Dish or cable. they promised us the same deal with no increase in payment, THEY LIED. said we could cancel for 200.00.

Directv in Hastings, Michigan - Direct TV attempted to fraud me.

I cancelled my Direct TV service July 8th 2010. I talked to Bob Miller Pin#1940 in the cancellation department. The cancellation department at Direct TV is the best (most unethical) sales people they have. Once I told them I was leaving because of my past deliberate fraud and because my contract was up I was told they would cut me a great deal that no one could touch. Here was the deal...6 month contract, whole house DVR with 6 TV's, 3 HD TV's and 3 standard, Bonus HD channels, Free Stars and HBO for 6 months and absolutely no contract past six months. I had them repeat the deal 3 times and I repeated the deal at least 3 times to make sure everything was perfect. When I received my confirmation it was a 24 month deal and the promised 73.99 per month wasn't in the deal either. I called and was told by two different people July 9Th 2010 that deal wasn't available to anyone. I gave them Bob's name and Pin # and they said you can't talk to a sales person by calling in. I asked how that was possible since I was given the number and the Pin#. Both Direct TV representatives just got angry and kept saying you can't talk to the sales person, you have to deal with me. Basically, what I figured out is Direct TV deliberately doesn't allow calls to be transferred to sales people because they are encouraged to lie to the customers and don't want the sales person to get gun shy by having to deal with the consequences of their lies. It's a brilliant design if you're a sociopath who just wants to make money. What I have read online is there have been over 60,000 complaints and Direct TV had to pay over 2 million in fines to settle lawsuites with several states. Bottom line, I cancelled and went to Dish Network. They too weren't completely honest with me however, I was able to have them review the recorded conversation and make it right. I was burned once by Direct TV and almost a second time. Make absolutely sure you read the fine print no matter how nice the sales people are from these companies or you most likely will be burned. The sales people are promoted based on cash only and ethics isn't part of their compensation. One more note. Both representatives I talked to when I complained didn't even act remotely surprised the sales rep lied. They seemed more angry they were caught and couldn't convince me to stay. secboy71 yahoo

I decided to order Direct TV. I spoke with the sales rep telling him I had 4 HDTV's and 1 analogue.

He gave me the price for the first year then demanded my SSI # to see what I qualified for the second year. I needed 4 HD tuners for the 4 TV's and 1 analogue receiver. He mumbled the legal *** without allowing me to question anything. I received the confirmation email and he had 2 HD receivers and 3 analogue receivers.

The entire order was canceled. Requesting SSI#'s to get prices is BS. Not seeing what you agree to before you commit is BS. Never believe anything someone tells you over the phone.

I equate Direct to timeshare sales people. They can say whatever you need to hear. The only thing that counts is what's in the contract. I canceled before they got within 3 days of my house and pray to God my identity has not been compromised by these charlatans.

These people are similar to the on-line *** artists up in NY that sell cameras. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

Directv in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Direct TV... a nightmare from beginning to end.

Got suckered into a 2 year contract and had been going through *** since. Poor service and reception, equipment charges are ridiculous (don't be fooled by promotion offers) promotion offers agrees upon were withdrawn! Customer service a joke! Tricky Billing! Most annoying automated system... hard to reach a live person... customer service is a joke!... (they transfer you around and bouce u back and forth like a pinball) so be prepared to spend countless hours of your life and minutes on your phone) Finally cancelled and specifically asked for final closeout bill and returned equipment. 2 months later when I thought the nightmare was over... direct tv calls with a recording saying I still have unpaid balance... More time spent on phone... more call transfering..Customer service is a joke! If your problem is a bit complicated and annoying.... u might accidently get hung up on btw... very. DO NOT USE DIRECT TV! WARNING!!! I don't normally do this... or like wasting my time posting comments about anything.... but I am sick and tired of this company! Unbeliveable!

Directv in Salt Lake City, Utah - Added an extra two months charges to get discount price

Be very careful when you sign up for rebates with Ditec TV. If you sign up for a 24 month contract it can take up to 2 months for the rebates to kick in. That means you will pay 2 months regular price before the 24 month contract starts. It is a way they get more money. Don't tell me they don't have the ability to apply the rebates instantly. I call them and and asked to speak to a supervisor. When I was connected to the supervisor she was the same person who said she would connect me to a supervisor. I talked to a manager and all I got was the runaround. Think twice before agreeing to contract with DIREC TV.

Directv in Dayton, Ohio - Unauthorized charges from Direct tv

Direct TV overdraft my account over $750 for a box and other charges days before they notified my of any fees were owed to them and refused to credit charges back to my account. A big hassle and rip off. Never due business with Direct TV. I am a college student and can not afford these charges and would have been able to pay the monthly fees to keep the account active until the contract was complete,if they had notified me of any amounts due. All family members will also be cancelling any service with Direct TV. The are a big disappointment.

Directv in Reston, Virginia - Wow direct is the #1 thief

they advertise falls info and they are thief's. they send me all the contract after they installed the cable. and their customer service will talk sweet at first than after u r in . the catch begins. you cant cancel you r service for 24 months . and there is a fee of 400 and up for your cancellation . i called customer service 10 time and all of them give different info. and also they hit u with some rebet stuff you have fill out to get the discounted price. and that wont take in affect for 2 months . so you would end up paying the regular price for the first 2 months and and it would change after 12 months to regular again. plz rethink before u go direct tv.
