Directv in Dayton, Ohio - Direct TV did not give me the $100 rebate promised.

Direct TV did not give the $100 rebate promised by the sales representative. I gave the info as required, my friends name, account number, and phone number. When the bill came they said it was my I did not get the rebate because I had to call a SPECIAL number. If they are going to give rebates don't play games with people, just do it. When I contacted customer service all they did was say it was my fault because I did not call the special number. For all I know I did call this number but did not get the rebate.

The $100 rebate is just a scam DirecTV uses to get you to refer people and I say that as a DirecTV customer for over 11 years (and had primestar before DTV). My daughter who is in the airforce chose DirecTV from a superior in the USAF.

As soon as the tech got my daughter's system set up, she called the 800 number he gave her and she was told that she was supposed to call before he hit the connect switch. The technician should have told her to call before he finished rather than later.

She and her USAF superior were both duped out of $100. This has made me rethink my DirecTV service.

Directv in San Francisco, California - Complaint on Satellite Direct

I paid the $49 fee but the software download failed to complete. There is no Technical Support to contact or call (servers not accessible message). My only recourse is to submit a conflict at PayPal and send a letter to my Bank who sponsors my credit card at PayPal. It is a scam or something to good to be true. I guess I got screwed. I should have research more through the net I will certainly warn friends, colleagues and business partners regarding this site. I believe there are a lot like me looking for discounts or bargain on entertainment services due to rising prices of these cable and satellite companies.

Comment like this is a way for us to improve this amazing innovation, satellite direct, however since there are already a handful of satellite direct companies I guess it would be fair if we can mention the company or provider. We at this industry is working so hard to make this innovation affordable will expanding our reach.

I signed up for a $49.95 plan, my bill always comes to $70.00 I call every month and they give me a excuse for one thing to another, They say free installation and when they come out they have to put my dish on my roof and they have another company that comes out to do this, but then they charge you for this so it is not free installation, I could have sued them for miss representation but I was done with having anymore headache with them. I had Time Warner before I made a mistake coming to Direct TV when my subscription for 1yr is over I am going back to my old cable company. For all the people out there Direct TV is a Ripoff and you will end up paying more with them than your old cable company, if you do go with them just remember the I warned you.

to directtv subscribers, i have had directv for around 10 years when i was notified i was eligible for HD free for two years if i was allowed to have the payment each month taken out on my credit card. next billing came in the mail with me being charged for a month of HD. called them up and what a shock they told me i needed to change my select choice to either lower tier, loss of channels or pay more for the next tier up. not one time was i told to receive this offer would it be necessary for me to change my cable package. i will be going with a different cable provide because of the bait and switch. stay tuned!!

I find that Satellite Direct.tv services fake, all the programs are lifestream or they tell you to buy new update and pay more money. I want my money back. I was interested in watching the German TV , none of the main programs are there so are the programs from USA and Canada. Its all fake. So beware. I just bought it and after There were no soccer programs on it. old films lots of junk. I am totally disappointed. I have paid over PayPal and I hope that they will get my money back.So beware of this fake satellite TV

Directv in Sandpoint, Idaho - Unsatisfied with direct tv

The longer I stay with direct tv the more irritated I get with them. I get continuously get charged a little more through out the years and I get less offers through out the years. Which you would think that direct tv would appreciate having their customers each year their customers continue to stick with them so other customers will want to have more of a reason to sign up to direct tv. Our charges have went from $29.99 plus taxes plus other charges. Then after the first year it went to $114.99 plus $5.99 plus $5.00. Then I had 3 free leased receiver for a few months longer and now I have a full charge of $136.88. I tried to give my opinion on-line with their ads and of course there is no place on their ads for that type of opportunity.

I totally understand the frustration. I signed up for the service and was not aware of a 2-year contract.

Then was misguided with the total amount of my first bill and the rebate that was supposed to be given. After that, I have to move because my apartment keeps flooding and since I am in the 2 year contract, I have to transfer the service, now they want to charge me $50 to transfer service i already have. They pretty much have you by the balls.

They are theives. i though comcast were theives, but now I am not sure who is worse.

Directv in Washington, District Of Columbia - Direct TV mistakes

I used Direct TV for few years, had few DVR, but also bought one DVR at Costco. After the contract with Direct TV ends, I returned all DVRs and receiver to Direct TV, except the one I bought from Costco. Direct TV requested me to send them the DVR I bought. I sent Direct TV my receipt of purchse, etc., talked different people at Direct TV but it insists I need to ship the DVR back. I called Costco about the issue and Cost told me to "return" the DVR to Costco (after two years). I did and Costco gave me the full refund. I sent the receipt of purchase/return to Direct TV thinking it is done. Direct TV sent me to collection anyway. I always pay my bills but this is rediculous. I checked the record, realized I have talked to them on 1/14, 1/15, 3/17, 4/23, 6/11, 8/26, 11/6, 12/7 of 2009. After Direct TV sent me to collection, I have talked to Direct TV on 5/5/2010, 6/23 and 7/1, wasted so much time. I will get my attorney to send them a letter soon.

Directv in Alexandria, Virginia - Took Money from my bank account

On 6/29/2010 DirectTV debited my bank account for $800.07. Not even my bill, as my bill is only 64.00 a month. When I contacted them they were very rude, unprofessional, could not get to a manager. Was told to fax over statement showing charge, did so, even got the name of the person, employee #. Called back to confirm if they received fax, got another rude person. Would not confirm fax. This time would not even give me his name. I even gave them the persons employee number still would not help me. Now have file a claim with my bank. I will be cancelling my service with them today...

Direct TV took money off my visa debit card. I have never even used direct tv and my bank acct is now frozen.

I have no access to my money until its convenient for there fraud dept to investigate my situation. They were also very un sympathetic for their error and better pay me my money back and then some for all the inconvenience they have caused for my children and I

I am totally dissatisfied with DIRECT TV service. Satellite constantly goes out. Have to pay extra to get ON DEMAND which is included in cable prices . They misrepresented there services and contract obligations. They stated they bundle services similar to cable providing phone,cable and TV . That was incorrect.They do not bundle a separate company was sent with an additional bill. And to top it off they have you locked in for 24months or you pay a cancellation fee of 480.00. I do not recommend this service and iwish I could return to cox cable .Cox prices equaled thier quality of service

Directv in Phoenix, Arizona - Billed for something I said that I did not want.

I bundled my services with Quest to save money. The changes I made was to pay a penalty to Dish for breaking a contract which would be made up thru Direct tv's promotion and drop AT&T for Verison. When I signed up with Direct tv, I said I did not want the movie channels but was told that I would not be billed for them anyways. "It was part of the promotional package" that I thought was for a year. I called to explain the mistake on my bill and was forwarded to Ernest#642652 the supervisor who told me to be quiet for a while, while I repeated my problem and listen to him. He made it very clear that I should have cancelled before I got the $24.00 charge. I told him that I didn't call earlier because as long as I wasnt billed for something I did not want, I didnt have a problem. He didn't care what I understood and that I didnt wanted it in the first place and didnt know that I had to call in 90 days from the initial sign-up. Then he was mad at me for asking for information to bring this to someone elses attention. This was a mistake and he put the whole blame on me. I felt so small and ready to cry when he hung up because "there was nothing else he could do for me". When I asked who I spoke to when I called and if she had a badge number too he said that he couldn't get it for me. I called to bring a problem on my bill to the attention of Direct tv and was duped at the assumption that customer service cared to work it out with me. It was $24.00 swiped out from under me with a calused attitude of indifference. How very wrong!
