I contacted Direct TV and have not be able to resolve my problem. My name is Laura Samuels, 1167 Paulson Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206 #412-661-4531. The installer even tryed to get this workorder complete - no help nothing but static from the respresentative. I have wrote a letter to headquarters and have not received any reply. I hope this gets to the correct department and my issues will be solved.

I was told from a "customer service resolution specialist", that it would take their processing 6-10 weeks for my refund check to get to me by mail!! I said that that was absurd! He said that it didn't matter if it was a card refund or a paper check.

Who has gotten a refund back from DirecTV?

How long has it taken you to receive? How long have/ had you been waiting??

Is there anything You did or I can do, to speed up the return process??

I was told that writing or contacting the BBB would help.

Does anybody know if that is true?

down with DTV!!!!!

Directv in Visalia, California - Direct TV $420 Cancellation fee

Because of poor service and/or NO service, I wanted to cancel with Direct TV early and worked for months in doing so. Finally, my Direct TV case manager waived the cancellation fee, and I received an email that I would receive a $420 refund. Months later, and after my request in writing that they no longer use my credit card, they charged me $377 and sent me a bill for a programming change. This was months after cancellation. Credit card dispute has ended in my favor, but it has taken 6 months and Direct TV continues to send me bills. Their service was definitely not as promised.

:( File a complaint with FTC and FCC as well. I had to and got a somewhat satisfactory agreement settlement.

DTV has had so many complaints re pricing that they might attempt to work with you. BUT, you have to file a complaint with FCC and FTC first and get the ball rollign. Be sure to read the fine print on every piece of mail they send you, they hide price hikes, and oh yea... when you sign up for DTV, you automatically agree to accept their price increases, REGARDLESS if your initial contract has an agreed set-upon price.

There's nothing you can do once you sign the contract with them. They own you until the end of the contract or you pay the ETF.

Directv in Pretoria, Gauteng - They steal your money

The add implicates that their cable tv will and can replace your excisting one. I have been mailing them more than 38 times, they do not respond. Once you paid, thats it. They steal your money and you never hear from them again. To get my refund seems to be impossible! The streaming is very bad and the more you open or try and dowload the more you get asked to pay more. More and more hidden cost. If anyone knows how we can punish them, post it please. They are a scam and should be locked up. Unacceptable service.

Directv in Manchester, New Hampshire - Direct tv

I paid over 500.00 dollas back in 06 for a hd-dvr receiver.I went to cancel with them and they told me I had to ship the receiver back to them, because it was a lease. Why then can you buy them at best buy or any other stores? direct-tv is ripping people off. It's like buying a car from a car company. You paid for it you own it. They don't tell you to ship it back. So that is how this company rips you off. You buy it and they still want it back. direct-tv go &^%$^&* your self.

DIRECTV cancellation

I called DIRECTV to cancel my service. I ask the customer service representative how much it would be to cancel my service. He told me it would be $20/month until November. I went on www.directv.com to pay my bill for $120 (which is what I was told it would be). When I accessed my account online the total was $255. I called DIRECTV right away and talked to a customer service representative named Van. I asked her to review my account because of the different amount I was told on Tuesday. After she reviewed the account she noticed that I had a credit on my account and she said my contract actually ended in September. Therefore, she told me I'd need to may $20/month til September ($80) then with my account credit the total would come to $55.10. She told me to wait a few days because their online account manager needed to change the amount on my account. I went to pay my total and the amount was not changed. I called DIRECTV again to verify the total was $55.10 and the customer service representative Dawn told me that the total was $255. She said that I was not out of my contract until next year. I have had DIRECTV since 2008. Their customer service representatives have told me three different amounts to pay. I agreed to pay $20/month until November for my early cancellation during the first call. The second representative told me that I only needed to pay $55.10. I told her that was fine and I'd pay it as soon as I saw it on my online statement. I don't think it right that I've been told three different amounts to pay. I agreed to the first total; $120. I did not agree to $255.

It seems Direct can charge whatever they want and they Lie! Lie!

Lie!

You might think about not paying them and letting them terminate your service that way they cannot charge an early cancellation fee. just makes sure the box is unplugged when they turn off your service so they cannot continue to charge you. They can turn it over to the credit bureaus but you have the option of posting your side on your report also.I know this is dishonest but then you are not dealing with the most Honest people out there.

Directv in Richardson, Texas - Direct TV- Unsigned Contract

I transferred to direct TV in April 2009 through AT&T who stated I would pay 49.99 per month and my phone and TV services would be bundled. After the first month of service I recieved a bill for over $90.00 the services were not bundled and the because I failed to send in rebate that I was not advised of I did not recieve any discount. I tried to cancel the services and was locked into a twelve month contract for the rebate I did not receive. In addition, I continued to pay the outrageous monthly fees for the lease of the equipment that I was told were free. Therefore I decided to wait it out. This morning I called thinking my contract was over to find out an additional contract was made when we bought our new TV and received an HD box. Now we currently have sixteen additional months left on our contract. The cancellation fee is currently $20 dollars per month for 16 months a total of $320.00 to cancel. The service is poor quality the HD pictures are not always accessible and the is scrambled if the wind blows. I think it is unjust to be locked into a unsigned contract when the service is inadequate. So now I will wait another 16 months and ensure not further adjustments are made by the provider without my consent.

Directv in Washington, District Of Columbia - Ripping off nursing home, dropped channels.

Can't get satisfaction for the poor service Direct TV is giving our nursing home, we have 5 year contract and are stuck with it, have lost 3 channels from our list, one which is USA network, it has just a floating Direct TV icon. I am about to get on Face book and spread the bad news if something isn't done soon, we are tired of getting ripped off! I had to leave my Dish Network at home, no comparison, Dish Network is by far the best choice. Sad you have to rip old people off like this.

Directv in Munford, Tennessee - Terminated DTV

I terminated my DTV service 21 May 2010 due to the fact I have been told several times that I would not be charged for a replacement HD/DVR Receiver due to the May 01 Flooding that occured in Millington, TN (Natural Disaster). I suspended my account in early May till I was ready to move into a new home. I called 21 May 2010 to reconfirm my Installation date of 22 MAY 2010; I was told that I would have to pay for a replacement receiver ($220) and that the Natural Disaster Policy only waived the non-return of your old receiver. I thought i was being taken cared of but today I was not. I have been displaced from my home for 3wks, have a family of 4 which includes a newborn; I thought this was going to be the least of my worries. I was assured initially by Tim, work ID # U4246, that I would not have to pay anything and that anything paid would be credited to my acct (relocation fee, installation fee, etc). Then recently, Joe work ID# 100447329, was going to put a credit to my acct for the receiver (I initially provided my credit card so that I could get the receiver and then be credited). When I called today, 21 May, and after being on the phone for over an hour I was told that there was nothing they can do and I would have to pay for the HD/DVR receiver. I found it odd that more than 3 people said I could get a replacement receiver free of charge due to the Natural disaster policy. Although DTV offers great satelite service; I feel that they didn't do all they could to keep me as a customer. So I terminated my service today.
