Directv in Herndon, Virginia - Direct TV "Fraud"

I have filed this with our Attorney General. We were Direct TV people for a few years. We moved and there tech came the day before Super Bowl to install. He could not do it "NO LINE OF SIGHT" and no super bowl. There customer service apologized and told me they would be issuing a refund (since you pay in advance for service). After 2 months of waiting for the $$ we called. We were told it would take up to 6 weeks. Then 2 weeks later we get a statement on an account that was closed for 2 months with a program adjustment taking back our credit. They said it was because I canceled my account and they were giving me a discount any way. We plan to take this as far as we need to. We do not recommend you do business with Direct TV choose DISH

They sold me a football package for a number of years... I upgraded to the HD package with promises of increased viewing of HD channels, again at a premium.

Then the football games were not in HD...as they said that required an additional $100.00. I explained I paid the NFL premium for Sunday Ticket, plus the premium for HD broadcast package.

They were trying to make me pay for the same thing twice. Hello Time Warner...here I come!!!

Good luck on the "LAW SUIT".If people would just take the time to read the small print.I am a Directv customer and I have never not once had a problem with Directv.I pay my bill's on time.If my package get's to expensive i down grade with no problem. As far as scaring her,This is BS.Your good neighbor probably scared him.Keep your private information to yourself. If your good neighbor could not afford the shipping fee,Then she should not have ordered the Directv in the first place.Since when does Directv charge you a shipping fee.I never paid a shipping fee. From your post i assume you are a male right?Collect the $500.00 from your neighbor. You knew you could not afford to pay her bill's in the first place. When you gave Directv your private information to help someone else out,You took on this person's account by giving your information.I bet this is one mistake you will not forget any time soon.

Directv in Jackson, Missouri - Direct TV HD recievers do NOT function as DVR

We just signed up for a 2 year contract with Direct TV. The package we signed up for included one DVR and one HD receiver. They assured me that the HD receiver would play the movie list from the DVR. It does NOT! I phoned into customer service and they said they have BETA trials going on and it might be available end of May or June! Their response is to pay another $199 for another DVR...."to provide the service that they already sold me." I think it is ridiculous that they do not keep their word and now they want me to pay more to keep their promise.

Directv in Seattle, Washington - No customer service

why customer service or tech service at Direct TV can not be reached any longer before 8:00am or after 10:00pm. I, like others are either early risers or night owls and when there is a problem, theres no one to assist until after I go to work and then I am not able to make my call or fix the problem. The price of your service keeps going up and the customer service is steadily going down..change your recording because it tells you help is at the end of the call only to find the c.svs is closed. So what are we suppose to do?? How can we reach tech support after hours?? Is there a new number and I dont have it??

Directv in Austin, Texas - Rude sales team

I went to the Warranty Direct website and filled out a form to receive a free quote for an extended warranty on a used car I am considering buying. I received the quote by email without problems. Then, 2 days later, I received an extremely rude phone call from a sales team member. He asked me if I was interested in buying, and I said No. He replied with a very strong "Why?". I said I was just trying to receive a quote for a warranty I might get if I buy the used car. He replied with "So do you want to get the warranty?" I said NO. He replied strongly again, "Why?". I said "because I don't want to." He asked strongly AGAIN "Why?" At that point I said Goodbye and hung up the phone. Extremely unprofessional, and extremely rude.

Directv in Cambridge, Massachusetts - Lied about reason for cancellation approval

my husband and i moved to a new apartment. the landlord will not allow anything attached to the building, the building is cable ready, there are 23 apartments. we were told to have the landlord write and send his letter of refusal to allow us to have direct tv to the company. the landlord did so and direct tv claimed they changed their minds.. we hope to build a home in the next two years but they have disrespected my husband so badly he no longer will do business with them.. we are newlyweds and i have been a customer for the last 6 years and liked the product.. now when we get our new home we will have to use a less quality dish network.. it upsets me that we will not be using direct tv because of employees that have no consideration for return business.. we could have sent them thousands of dollars over the next years but but they demanded a cancellation fee that was unfair

Directv in Chantilly, Virginia - DIRECT TV is Ripping Me Off!

Direct TV came for a service call and the tech stated that the problem was clearly not our fault, but, in fact, the fault of a previous tech that was sent out for a neighbor. Regardless, Direct TV still billed us $120. After three or four phone calls, they still refuse to remove the charge. The last rep stated "I'm sorry that the problem was not your fault, but you still have to pay the service charge." When I called prior to the service call, they told me that the tech would determine if we were to be charged or not. Now they say that the tech should not have told us that it wasn't our fault. Wasn't HE the one that was there and saw the problem? We asked that they please talk to the tech and they said they are not able to do that. PLEASE! We have been long time customers of Direct TV at another business we own and was getting ready to add Direct TV at our home,. NOT NOW!! Obviously, it's worth it to lose three accounts for $120 that we don't owe to begin with!

It is not a surprise that DirecTV has a grade of F on the Better Business Bureau customer service review. They say that I did not return a receiver. Both receivers were placed in the same box - one received, one not received??

You could have checked it yourself. If it tends to go outin good weather it most likely an alignment issue.

You can go in to your settings and see your signal strength. adjust your dish as needed and retighten the bolts.

ANOTHER DAY W/O DIRECTV

I hate Directv. When you need TV service the most for severe weather alerts it NEVER works. If you call they have the worst Customer Service ever. They hung up on me yesterday. I thought and all my paperwork indicates I had to keep this good for nothing service for 1 year and I did suffer through for 1 year, however when I called the cancel they informed me in small print it was for 2 years. What a rip off company. I will post on my facebook and other web sites daily how I feel about this comapny so others will not get in this situation. So glad I'm retired now so I can inform as many as possible

Directv in San Diego, California - Lies, deception, and unauthorized charges

I had DirecTV a while back for the football package. I called to cancel after the season ended. The customer service rep told me that if I put my account on hold it would be better then cancelling because it would be a better deal for some reason, I think cost. I asked him if they would automatically restart the next season. He said they would call me first to ask me if I wanted to restart. That sounded good, so I agreed. 1 year later I notice on a credit card I don't check often, 5 months of DirecTV chargers at about $130 a pop, $650 total. No call to ask me to restart and my box wasn't even hooked up during that time, so I call DirecTV immediately. They give me the run around, robotic customer service reps "I'm sorry you are upset sir, let me refer you to this person", over and over again. Repeated calls and tons of equally frustrating e-mail correspondence finally gets me to "higher ups", but they are just more of the same, but with fancier excuses and continually telling me how great DirecTV does in consumer reports. Apparently since it was a verbal promise by their rep to call me before restarting they won't stand by it. So their reps can say anything they want to make a sale, even if it's false or they don't follow through on their reps promises. Wonderful. Through conversations they even insinuated that they record all their calls. I told them to play me the call, if it's not like I say it is, then I'll quit calling and e-mailing.... no dice, no disclosure of the recorded call and they refused to give me a full refund. After months, I just came to terms with the reality that they are an disengenuous company and karma will get them. That was about 2 years ago. Their company has been going downhill since. I believe it's because of DirecTV's unethical business practices. Karma DirecTV.
