Directv in Albany, New York - Over charge paying full but not getting local channels

I have direct tv and cannot receieve local channels due to no direct line of site to the satalite.But I still get charged the full amount.This is not fair I try to talk with reps with direct tv an get a big runaround. They dont care about the customer, all they want from you is to shutup and pay.We see there ads on tv saying how wonderful they are . I think they are just a bunch of ripoffs.If I did these things to people they would have me arrested.I bigger companys get the more they get away with.There no better than wallstreet.Where is our goverment when wer need them,things are getting totally off the wall HUGH T MYRTLE

Directv in Campton, Kentucky - Directtv has a setup bad buisness proof

Direct tv offered me a great deal on phone and on line, sent a paper contract via US mail. Didn't think I would open. Less programming, more cost. Complained my mistake, said no here is operator name # number. Didn't even contact.Still my misunderstanding!!! I think they thought I would ignore the snail mail and when installed, they had me on the hook. If this if something you want to look into e-mail me and I will forward my correspondence with them. I think this is an advertising ploy to reel in unsuspecting consumers who look at e-mail only and assume the paper version is the same.

Directv in Spokane, Washington - Took local channel off

I have finally had it with Yakima news. It is not local to 99362 custo mers. My neighbors have Dish and they still get KNDU Tricities. Why was it taken off, it was on when I signed DirectTV. My other Question is Why are the channels moving to different numbers? I cannot get answers to my questions when I call Direct TV customer service. The people working or answering the customer service lines do not have any knowledge of programming and where to get the information. I would like to get straight answers when I call. By the way does anyone at DirectTV acknoeledge these messages.

I BOUGHT THEIR PACKAGE ON 4/19/10 CHECKED THEIR CHANNELS THEY ARE NO GOOD CANT ACCESS MOVIES OR GOOD CHANNELS YOU NEED UPGRADE FOR PREMIUM CHANNELS AND YOU HAVE TO PAY EVEN THOUGH THEY SAY IT IS A ONE TIME OFFER AND IN THREE STEPS YOU ARE READY THATS A LYE. I TRY TO CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR A REFUND GOT NO ANSWER. I DO NOT RECOMEND SATELLITE DIRECT BECAUSE THEY ARE A FRAUD. I bought the product figuring it was worth the try. Satellite direct offers almost no live tv.

It is a continuous replay of a video. For instance, the weather channel. I clicked and got a 30 second forcast for last year. Was suppose to be hot and severe weather.

Not sure what day they were talking about. I clicked back before leaving the sight and got the same thing replayed.

Directv in Atlanta, Georgia - Direct TV - Misleading and Horrible Customer Service Reps

When I signed on for this company's television service, I was mislead into thinking I was getting HD. In addition, it took a supervisor to correct the installation (2 previous attempts). The second installation man drilled *** in the wall, inserted a wire and didn't even connect to the satellite dish. When I learned that I didn't have HD, I contacted Customer Service. They now want to charge me $200 to add HD. I had to speak to two customer. service. reps. (I had requested to speak to a supervisor). The second rep that I spoke to was extremely rude. I had to remind him that I was old enough to be his mother and requested that he not speak to me in that tone of voice. He gave two examples to attempt to try to intimidate me for my 'ignorance' in not getting HD at the time of order. His examples were silly and I told him I would be reporting them to the BBB and write the company. If anyone wants to go with this company, "Buyer Beware". You may well not be ordering all of the service you think you are and then you will be required to 'pay additional' charges.

We tryed to cancel Direct tv and I was put on 45 minute holds until I would hang up for another of the same. After about 6 weeks finally got through; I was treated rudely and charged for the six weeks that I could not get through to their customer service.

In addition, they threaten to charge me for the reciever which they were going to send me packing supplies to return. Said they would charge my VISA if not returned in 3 days. Package supplies never did arrive. They did not have my VISA.

Now they're calling saying that they don't want the receiver, throw it out !!

With all the poor servive, they want to know if they can turn the service back on again? NO NO NO

Don't bother writing DirectTV they will not answer but do write the BBB,FTC and your Attorney General(this can be done online at their websites) Keep records of all phone calls with them.My heart goes out to anyone going through this *** with DirectTV they will lie to you and charge your account they have on file early cancellation fees of $20 for every month left on your contract if you cancel service with them.If you do decide to cancel be sure to close the account they have on file for you first whether it be bank acc or cc acc.This is the only way to be sure they cannot charge your account believe me it is almost impossible to get your money back after the fact.

I recently had a receiver burn in a fire, I had to 238 dolars for a new one and now they want a 2 yr contract. I told the girl to cancel the order as my house is for sale.

She told me to have the tech call when he installs the new receiver.

So there is 2 taped conversations of agents telling me I don't have a 2 yr extension but mangement is trying to hold me to the 2 yr commitment. Listen to the recordings!

I just got off of the phone with customer service (2 people). If I don't settle down I'll have a heart attack.

I purchased a receiver 6 months ago thinking that I could save $5 a month and not pay for a leased receiver. I called in, they took the info, switched the receiver and indicated that I would receive credit which I did. I called a couple months later to ask what to do with the old receiver. The girl said they don't take them back any more and remove the card and to recycle it.

I held onto it just in case. I just received a bill where they are charging me for my receiver. When I called they indicated that I am paying for the signal going to the TV not the leasing of the box. When I indicated that I had received credit for not having to lease a receiver and that a person I talked to didn't indicate that I would still have to pay a charge he just repeated I was paying for the signal going to the extra TV.

Well I guess it's back to cable till Fios comes to town. Bastards!

PS. They just sent me a return box for the receiver I switched out 6 months ago.

Directv in Orlando, Florida - Direct TV ARE SCAMMERS BEWARE Misled my elderly Parents

My elderly Parents were contacted by a Sales Rep at their home and were misled into signing by being told there was no commitment and they could cancel at any time. But when they tried they were verbally abused and then they got in touch with someone else who told them to send in equipment and they would not be charged. Until over $500 dollars was automatically deducted from their account which left them broke and Hungry since they live month to month on Socail Security. So they have contacted there Bank and hopefully they will be able to get funds returned.

I hope all goes well for your parents Hopefully the bank will return their money but be careful because Direct may try to enter the charge again. they may have to close their bank account.Also,Direct may try to charge for the equipment even though they have returned it.It is sad that Direct can empty someones bank account but that is the way they operate.

When I went with Direct TV, I was under the impression (by the salesperson) that I was getting every option, to include HD. I found out that I has not given HD and after contacting customer service, I was told I should have known and to get HD I would have to pay an addition $200 install fee plus $10 p/m.

Customer service was extremely rude and impolite. Had to tell one rep that I was old enough to be his mother and not to speak to me in that tone of voice.

Said I was willing to pay $10 but should have been advised at the time of signing that I wasn't getting HD. In addition, I had to have the service man come out three different times to conclude the installation as they did not install it correctly.

Directv in Villa Rica, Georgia - Direct TV

Direct TV invoiced me for service that I never agreed to. I cancelled my service since I received NO customer service for the sleazy business practice. I now have an early cancellation fee on my credit card and harassing phone calls all hours of the day and evenings. Do Not use Direct TV!! I had received telephone calls from supervisors offering deals to keep me as a customer prior to the problem with them. We had agreed on a package for $60.00 per month. I later received a bill for a $150.00 sports package that had been added to without my approvel. The package ran for 6 months before I got an invoiced for it. That is a wonderful thing. You provide a service fore someone without telling them and then charge their creditcard for it.

Directv in Tucson, Arizona - Worst customer service ever

my husband and I moved into a new development where direct tv was one of 2 options we had for cable unfortunately we chose direct tv. Since installation we have spent numerous hours on the phone with them and we get a different story every time we talk to them regarding channels we were promised to get and don't. We asked about just cancelling our service and they want to charge us $460 because we have had it a week. They fail to help us out in any way and they are even talking rudely to us on the phone when we explain our issues and concerns. Do yourself a favor and do not get this service it is the worst out there!!!

Direct TV does not want you cancel so they refuss to answer cancellation lines. Long holds sometimes more than 1/2 hour. Sometimes takes days.

Directv in Los Angeles, California - Direct TV Bait and Switch Tactics

I signed up with Verzon Bundle package and they are contracted with Direct TV. DTV offered me $38.99 first year, the it would jump to $56.99. I agreed to this. Then after the first year they bumped the price up another $10. If you don't want to pay their price, and want to cancel your DTV, they charge you $150 - $250 early termination fee. So essentially, you CAN'T get out of their contract until the end of 2 yrs but these crooks can raise the rates as much and anytime they want. Stay away from this bait and switch business. I filed complaint on-line with FCC. Interestingly enough, they had a DTV option, I guess because of so many complaints.
