.we been with direct tv for years. we we are huge fans of pbr. you no longer have versus channel. plus are bill is to high. we dont have any premium movie channels. you offer specials to new cust. not to your long term ones.we are very upset about this. we are sincerly thinking about switching to dish. they have versus. betty sisco family. 501 580 4017.acct.#9775742. please make all contacts 501-580-6420.also every time it rains the signal go out.i also use to get espn classics. now i no longer recieve it anymore.

Directv in Jacksonville, Florida - Withdrawing money from personal bank acct for early cancellation fee which was in fact not early

Dec 23, 2009 cancelled Direct TV after 2 1/2 years service to go with another satellite company who offered better deal. Dec 26 was charged $339.51 early cancellation fee. Called Jan 2, 2010 and was told mistake would be taken care of and I would have money credited to account 8-10 business days by Supervisor. Called again on Jan 8, Jan 27, Feb 17, and March 9, 2010 and each time was told a different story from it's in the mail to it will be another 8-10 weeks before I receive refund. After hearing the same story today Mar 9, I asked to speak to a Supervisor and he told me another 8-10 weeks to process credit because the previous Supervisor did not credit the acct on Feb 17 as promised. As of this date, Mar 9, I still do not have any idea when and if I will get my money back. I suggest you do not use the Direct TV satellite services.

Had a similar problem. Canceled service.

Never received refund promised. Called numerous times. Talked to supervisors. Always given the run around and excuses.

Two years later I realized my credit had suffered. Not only had they not canceled my service, but they were continuing to bill me, without bills, and although they owed me money and didn't pay me, they put a thing on my credit saying I owed them, which recked my credit. I had to hire an attorney. I had to then go back through the ordeal of speaking to more supervisors who asked me repeatedly....you mean you never got any more paper bills for the amounts you were continuing to be charged when we told you we would cancel your account, and never did?

I was an online account only. I never received paper bills. Eventually my attorney, for a fee charged me for straightening it all out and walla....I even got my credit returned to normal and my REFUND....but it took two years.....would I use them again. *** no...I can't tell you how extremely rude all of their employees are.

They don't do what they tell you they will do. They are smart mouths. I would record everything they say. I did, and that is how I won my case.

Better off not ever using these people. They are straight out of your worst nightmare...and will put you through ***, when all I ever did was pay my bills on time.

Directv in Greenville, South Carolina - Direct tv ripped me off

I had direct tv for 4 years until I moved, I canceled my account. To my surprise I checked my checking account and found that they had taken more than three hundred dollars out of my account without my authorization. I think this is stealing, If you or I did this we would be put in jail. so how can they get away with this. When I talked to the person on the phone she told me that the money for the receivers would be returned to me after they receive them. I sent them back and they had already receive them and they still took the money out of my account. Now what do I do, wait until they decide if I deserve my money back. To anyone that will Liston don't get a direct system.

Directv in Bellevue, Washington - I was totally misled about this service!!!

I became a new customer in October and have had problems ever since! First, my order was wrong, then I had to change my order over the phone losing most of my work day to deal with it. Then, my old tv wouldn't work with either of the first 2 receivers; finally I just got a new TV and now I find out that I have to buy a new receiver for 200$! and and start a new contract with a company I now hate! What a scam! I was completely misled about the charges being told that I would only need to add a 10$ fee for HD service - what a total lie! A new contract with a company I don't trust is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

I was told the service would be as good as cable. When listening to music you allways get this (berrip) during the song.

Just annoying.

The pitchure quality is not as good as cable either, Real sorry that I ordered this service, Also the price I was quoated isn't what I am being charged. Would like to drop this service and go back to cable.

Direct TV will not clarify their renewal policy. They claim after the initial 24 month contract that the contract will renew for a month at a time. No where in the contract does it say that. The only thing it says is that the contract will renew on a periodic basis....

Directv in Eldridge, Iowa - Direct tv collection fraud

Direct TV agreed to a settlement in November of 2009, but they sent it to a collection agency anyway. I have been getting calls for the last 4 months for a bill I do not owe. I have made several calls to the office of the president of direct tv and was told the problem was taken care of. Guess what I got another call. The customer service department has no idea what they are doing, meanwhile, I am getting calls and my credit report has been screwed up. The calls I made to the office of the president were not tole free and they refused to reinburse me for my expenses to solve a problem they created.

I stopped paying direct tv because I could not afford it anymore. They cancelled my service about a month later. Then I received boxes to return the equipment. The boxes got wet. I waited a day or so for them to dry and I was in the process of putting the equipment...

My name is billy starks i have been a good paying customer for 5 years. I called tonight to get another account at another house i own. I was informed that the setup would be 69 dollars.First it took me 1 hour 15 min to get someone to help me.I talked to 6 people before i got to the right department.I had to go through the computer voice recording 4 times.By the end of the conversation the lady informed me that the price would be 140.00.She told me if i was a new customer i would get it free.I asked to speak to a supervisor to get this cleared up.Why should i as a good paying loyal customer have to pay for something that is free to new customers.The supervisor was rude and tryed to intemidate me when i asked her to cancell my service.She told me my credit card would be charged are i would be billed for cancelling my service.By the end of the conversation i had cancelled my service i have had for 5 years and didn't get another account with you.I am also a business owner and i would never treat my customers like that. Directv in Saint Paul, Minnesota - Bait and Switch Direct TV complaint info.

Direct TV just told me that my 1 year contract had been extended last March 2009, to 24 months, without me knowing or agreeing to it. I had called to inquire if the DVR was supposed to come with my package. I was told yes and she apologized and set it up. Now they said that by accepting it I agreed to the extension and that she did not have to tell me. If they were in fact "qualified" to help me then they would not have signed me up for 2 years without asking or telling me first. I would have known rather than inadvertently been advised when I asked what discounts they offer for customer retention since my contract had been over for a month.

They are consistently ignorant and I would assume you would like to know when that occurs on a regular basis.

It is a very big deal when customers are alienated.

Most governing bodies of a corporation are interested in acquiring and keeping customers. If you work for Direct TV you are a poor advertisement. The customers are the sole reason this business and jobs exist.

Most larger companies "farm" out their customer service to large call centers. It's common practice.

These people are just as qualified to help you as any actual Direct TV customer service employee.

They recieve several weeks/months of training and are in direct contact with the client that they work for, so that they are kept abreast of any changes going on within. Not a big deal.

i had direct tv but my service was terrible we cut 3 trees because they said that was our problem i called nd called their person on the phone told me since our servic was so bad we could get out of our contract cause i have shows on the dvr that showed how it would go off & say searching for sattelite and now they say they never got the equipment and say i owe 999.00 and turned me to collection this is not fair and my trees were nevermeant to be cut but i tryed to be nice and help them but what do i get for being nice please help
