Directv in Birmingham, Alabama - Please don't use Direct TV

They didn't repair my problems after coming out twice and sent me a bill. When I canceled service, they debited from my checking account without my permission. I had a hard time on the phone understanding their operators English and requested a different person. Their customer service is very poor. I watch programs on the internet now without the hassle and monthly bill which seemed to go up very frequently. I had good service with DISH network and will go back with them if I ever decide to have TV again. Please stay away from Direct TV. You'll be glad you did.

dont use direct tv, charges more than DISH and dont tell you that you have to pay for every hookup.

DVR old out of date quality

soon as my 2 years contract up out they go.

Directv doesn't honor their deals

Ive been a customer since 1997. Called last month to see about hd dvr. Represenative offered me free hd dvr and asked if it was going to replace a receiver or go in another room. I told them after a lengthy conversation that I would tell the installer.Waited all next day and no call from installer. Called dtv and was told that I told them I would let them know and the offer was not valid today. I explained that was not the case and spoke with supervisor and.she agreed that I was correct, BUT,,, would only offer me a $50. off receiver since my account didnt have a flag for special offer.My subscription is up this month and I am glad.

Directv in Bethpage, Tennessee - Direct tv wants to charge me 200 dollars for another regular reciever

I signed a two year contract with direct tv in January. I told the sales rep that I would need another receiver in a couple of months. He said "no problem". If he had told me that it would cost almost 200 dollars to get it, I would have ordered it with my DVR for free. Is everything a rip off nowadays? All I want is a regular receiver for free, like I should have gotten in the first place. I will install the receiver so there will be minimal expense to direct tv. I wiil be glad to pay the monthly fee.

Directv in New Hampton, New Hampshire - Direc TV Ripoff!!! Charges unauthorised

I woke up Monday morning to a negative bank account and a charge from Direc TV for $541. Called Direc TV, since we moved and hadn't had service connected yet (our move was fast and unplanned)they charged me $340 for early termination, $90 for 2 receivers, $15 for disconnect and our $97 bill. So to avoid this all we had to do was re-connect at NO CHARGE other than the $97 we owed on the bill. This Per Manager LILA! So yesterday they came and re-connected at our new location. I call today no refund yet, LILA told us this was done on Monday. Bank has no traces of refund coming. Called Direc TV. This is what we get, "You were refunded $261. $261 where is that from? We should have a refund of $444 Per LILA. Well, the refund you should have is $350,wait no, so why $261, we don't know. We have to look into it. And oh yeah, we are charging you a month in advance out of that money too. Ok so at least $390 I should be getting refunded. They still cannot give me an answer!!!!!! Plus LILA said what she needed to get service again. I am expecting my $444 and will not settle with them until that is done.

Directv in San Antonio, Texas - Direct TV - YOU'RE BEING SUED

A customer Service Rep at Direct TV stole $383.00 from my wife's checking account and Direct TV stands by her. I am filing a criminal complaint and filing for a warrant for her arrest. Let's start putting those direct TV weasles in jail then they'll start acting right. See, these companies are just run by slime bags who are basically crooks that hide behind legalistic sounding contractstealing is stealing no mater how much fine print you have. I have sued many companies and won, direct tv is next. I needs my *** money, see you chumps in court!!!!!

ive dept with these scammers when my grandma got direct tv and just recently my mom wanted direct tv i warned her what they would do, and today we were missing channels we paid for, we called and it turned out they gave us a completely different package by accident, the guy who sold my mom the package promised her a completely different price and basically like i predicted we kept getting transferred to different reps and told different stuff so, i wonder how can my mom get involved in this class action lawsuit cause direct tv scams to many people

And screw their customers, my bill was jacked after my 1st 6mths, and I lost 6mths of showtime , which I was promised free, when I signed up. Liars!!!!

Direct TV Charged me $50 for a service call, however, told me on our call their would be no charge since the problem had been ongoing for 3 months, in which I could not record any progemming or use the HD channels. During this 3 month span I was still paying for HD and DVR service. When I received my bill I noticed that they had charged me $50 after telling their would be no charge. They are still billing me for that unauthrized charge and refuse to let me talk with a supervisor or manager. I'am shopping for other providers at this time. Rick Spidel

Directv in Weirton, West Virginia - Will not honor Refer a Friend.

Referred my mom to direct tv. Called verizon since she wanted to bundle TV with Verizon home phone & internet. They took the order, but when we gave my account # for the refer a friend program, we were told we had to call Direct TV. So we called & they took the order as well as my account # for the refer a friend credit. Got a call back from Direct TV to "verify" her order. Mom stated "you have my daughter & I down for the refer a friend credit, right?" They said no, you have to do that on line. BUT you can't do it on line once the order has been placed! Must be a scam. You give them the account # when you order, but they say you never did, so no refer a friend credit. Wonder how much they're making off this rip off!!!

Same thing happened to me - spent hours on the phone. Wanted to leave, but happen to enjoy watching sports - which they have a monopoloy on.

Depressing.. I hate directtv.

The same thing just happened to me and my friend. I just spent 3 hours on the phone to get nowhere.

The refer a friend is a bunch of ***. This is not the first problem I have had with them. The man they used to install it used the wrong connectors and it took a year for them to come and find out what was wrong because they wanted to charge me for a tech.

to come out and look at it and I refused to pay. I should have dropped them then.

Funny, the same thing happened to my friend and me with the refer a friend deal. No gift cards were issued.

They said they did not get the mail and then it was too late b/c you had to do it when you start the service. Glad to see I missed the boat. I just paid $100 to cancel my service early, I am done with their deceptive business practices.

At least they won't be getting an extra $500 out of me. Getting a converter box now.

It is beyond me why our BBB,FTC and Attorney Generals cannot shut these DirectTV crooks down or at least make them disclose ALL their terms and conditions on paper and in Plain English and in print we can read without having to use a magnifying glass and on paper(no verbal contracts online or suprise upgraded equipment contracts)DirectTV has no intentions of honoring their "Free Money Cards" or any of their other so called "Freebies" to trick people into signing their 2 yr. contract.DirectTV has been scamming people for many years and getting away with it and the BBB and FTC and Attorney Generals have thousands of the same complaints against DirectTV and yet there seems to be nothing done! A few people have reported getting their money back from DirectTV after a long drawn out fight but the majority does not!

Directv in Houston, Texas - Direct TV

I ave been a customer of Direct TV for the last 6 years. We moved about 5 houses down from where we were. They moved our dish and hung the wires over the roof. After making them fix that plus some other *** things they did, I was ok with it until they lost their contract with XM Radio. My contract,which I should not have had to sign after we moved, will not be up for another 13 months. They will not let me out of the contract because they say they gave me a new receiver. I told them I'd take the old one back and they can keep the free one they sent me. No, that is how they get you.

Directv in Portland, Oregon - Direct TV Stole $200 From Me

Direct TV are liars and thieves. I signed up for Direct TV in Nov 2008 and had to pay a $200 deposit. Now, after paying on time and in full the last 16 months, the Deposit has changed to a fee. The person I signed up with said over and over that I would get all of the money back through credits on my monthly bills. This was a total lie and the recording will show it. I've filed complaints with the FCC and BBB, but what this company needs is a Class action lawsuit. Please stay as far as you can away from Direct TV! We are all honest people who got ripped off, don't be the next one.
