Directv in Portland, Oregon - Direct TV Stole $200 From Me
Direct TV are liars and thieves. I signed up for Direct TV in Nov 2008 and had to pay a $200 deposit. Now, after paying on time and in full the last 16 months, the Deposit has changed to a fee. The person I signed up with said over and over that I would get all of the money back through credits on my monthly bills. This was a total lie and the recording will show it. I've filed complaints with the FCC and BBB, but what this company needs is a Class action lawsuit. Please stay as far as you can away from Direct TV! We are all honest people who got ripped off, don't be the next one.
I have a triple bundle package (phone, internet and cable) with Direct TV and Verizon. I sent payments to verizon. DirectTV sent me a bill too. I called Verizon to clarify why I am receiving bills from Verizon and DirectTV. Verizon could not explain & transferred me...
Directv in Reston, Virginia - Direct TV refuses to waive charges!
I contacted DirectTV to cancel my services, only to learn that I would be charged a $180 cancellation fee for early termination. I have had DirectTV service for 7 years and just switched to Verizon Fios. DirectTV states that upgrading an HD receiver in 12/09 creates another year agreement, so I will be penalized $20/month until 12/10. They did not inform me of this change verbally, nor provide a copy of that agreement in writing. Additionally, they refused to refund the $75 charges for unused services last month after switching to Fios. Verizon's no better--they refused to assist me and quote a $179 cancellation fee for any/all of their services. Consumers are being ripped off every day by these providers!
Directv in Calvert City, Kentucky - Direct TV - the poorest service on earth!
I have had Direct TV for almost a year and service is down at least monthly. Anytime it is cloudy, raining, etc. It never comes back itself so I have to call and hope to get a English speaking rep after holding for at least a half hour to one hour. Our bill has never since day one been correct and the reps could not care less. When I ask for a supervisor they put me back on hold for 15 to 30 minutes then they just hang up. I have another year on their sorry service at their high prices until I can do anything different. Direct TV is absolutely the worst excuse of company I have ever had to deal with. I will do everything in my power to see that my friends and family do not fall for their fraululent tactics.
Directv in Syracuse, New York - Direct TV lies to get you into "contract"
I had Direct TV install service at my new house. Not only did they charge me $30.00 more per month than my original "agreement", but they added quite a few misc fraudulent charges to my account. Some bogus fee for a "protection plan" I never ordered. When I asked for it to be refunded, they charged me $10.00 to cancel the plan. What!?! Apparently there is nobody in charge there because after an hour on the phone with supervisor "Richard" I was told that my rate would be restored to what I was originally quoted. Next bill showed it had clearly not been restored. I spoke with someone today who told me that supervisor Richard was wrong and that I could not get the original quoted rate because I had not gone online and filled out rebates. What!?! What rebates??? The customer service rep who signed me up never mentioned such a thing. Well, apparently I was supposed to find this in the fine print on my first bill somewhere. Scandalous! I am canceling my service as of today and I will NEVER DEAL WITH THEIR BS AGAIN!!! Direct TV is a joke. Go with cable!!!

i have been a comsumer with direct tv for 2 year, i have had trouble with them the hold time, 1st when it rain or snow your tv goes out, so u have to call them and stay on hold for hours, 2st you pay your bill money gram your tv on when you leave then come home and they turn it off,and have your money. when you call them you stay on hold for hours then for them to tell you they got your money but you havr to now pay the pass due balance to get it turn back on, after you been on holding foe a hour.3 they keep raising your bill without notice.4 the people that answer the phone a very rude have no respect and dont no what they are doing and last they will lie to to get you to stay with them . i tried of them will go to cable

I was dissatisfied with Direct TV soon after it was installed. They lie about fees, contracts and breaking the contract. When I tried to get them to cut my service off they said I couldn't due so for one year. It was a long 10mos. & I couldn't take it anymore. I called them & asked how much I owe for the remaining two months of service so I could pay it off right now & for them to cut off the service. They stated to me that I'm in a two year contract. Excuse me, *** No!! I never entered into a two year agreement. They stated to me that once they install the boxes it constitutes a two year agreement. What the *** I hated your service! Cut it off! Bill me for the remaining months. They had the nerve to state that they would take 450.00 out of my banking acct.for breaking the 2year contract. Once again, I only had a one year contract. OK,but thanks for that info. I called the Bank immediately..for it was a race against time. Had my card blocked and went on my merry way. Direct TV SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

You can never get to talk with a person it is all automated. We do not wont the free Chanel's, we have ask for them to be taken off. What does it take to talk to a person NOT a machine? Why are we charged for things we do not ask for and we can not get them to take it off, we are given the run -a-round when by chance we do get to talk to some one. We are so FEED UP! with this company. If you ask me they have very poor customer service and this will at some point will be there down fall.
Directv in Raleigh, North Carolina - Direct tv - wrong bill
They charged me for a package that i been took off along time go. Also i paid for ppv movies on credit card and they said i never paid but its on my bank statement that i paid. Then i got the runaround just to get it straight. Im so upset about this sitation because no one act like they wanted to help get it straight. A person knows what they are paying for what they canceled. I shouldnt have to go through a arm and a leg to get it off. I hope i dont encounter no more problems with their services. Im not a satisfied customer right now.
Directv in Urbana, Ohio - Website stinks
The Direct TV website said to pay "X" amount. I did that. When it posted, my account said balance was $0.00. My service did not re-instate. Now they said to re-instate my service I have to pay an additional $29.00 because that will be how much my balance will be when it is turned back on. I don't have a problem with paying the bill, it shouldn't have said that my balance was zero. Very misleading. Then trying to speak with somebody on the phone is ridiculous. I am in Ohio and I am speaking to someone who knows where. Definitely not in the US. Makes you want to cancel service and just deal with regular stations.
