i had direct over two years.about one and a half years i added a box.they said i started a new contract at that time.nobody said a word about a new contract. but after over two years i went with a local cable company. now they want to charge me a fee of 160.00 for breaking there so say contract. crooks crooks crooks. i thought if you were a honest company you would have these things up front and out in the open. not hide in small print on paper.which i am sure they have. good sign of what i call crooks.

I have been a suscriber since 2006. At first, I had no complaints. Now I have a million. The Quality of the customer service especially using overseas agents. They are no help. I had one rep proceeded to cuss me out literally. Then how they no longer handle issues, just pass the buck. Or demand money, that is it. We have issues when we moved the installer, was a complete *** our dish sits on center blocks where children or pets could come in contact with it. It took them months to never fix the issue. Just apologize. This is on going with then since 2008. Any issues other than money, Direct Tv wont handle it.
Directv in Longmont, Colorado - Direct TV Over Charges
I have finally run out of my contract with Direct TV. (47 more day) I moved and they did not set up the account and they were 7 days late in moving the service and then they charged me. Then I only needed some of the units and have tried to return on of them for three months and then they charge me for the receiver. Took them a month to correct that. Then they charged me for a sports program they have and I did not order. Be careful if you do business with them. Look at the other reviews. Comcast seems to be a better buy.

the change in the music provider has left me very frustrated and discouraged. I'm a big blues fan but this provider caters to those people who are dead. there is very little variety itall sounds so much a like that it becomes boring and unenjoyable. why there can't be more than one blues channell so those of us who are still alive can have something to enjoy is the primary reason that I might have to switch to another provider if things stay the way they currently are. I listen alot to the blues channell here since this is the only place I was able to get a blues station. If this current type of programing remains the same I will be making a change after alot of years with direct tv good bye or maybe good riddens is the proper sentiment.
Directv in Durango, Colorado - Changes to the music channels plus the lack of local channels
Direct TV recently changes the music channels. My favorite "Escape" which was easy listening was removed. WHY????? Now there is not one channel which provides soft music like Escape. I suspect a lot of Seniors who have Diret TV are disappointed as well. Why can't Direct TV poll their customers or have a trial period to see if their customers like the proposed changes. I suspect that the people who make these changes have NO clue what the older generation likes. In our area (zip code 81507) Dish TV offers local channels but not Direct TV. Because I could no longer have rabbit ear antennas, I had to get cable! DirectTv looked like the best price, so I called to sign up. When the technician came out, he gave me an agreement form to sign. I read it and told him I can't do this because I signed up for a year. The technician ended up calling his work to confirm if I could sign up for a year. They approved of me signing for a year as long as I marked off the 18-24 months and put in a 12 with my initials. So...I called a year later to end my service. They said no you have to have it for 24 months or you'll be charged a $200 cancellation fee. If I didn't get the DVR it would be a 18 month contract...You learn new information when you cancel. I wrote everything down when I signed up. We even went over my total overall bill for one year. I explained to them that two of their employees ok'd it with me, otherwise I would have sent the tech out of my house. I told customer service that I only signed up for a year because I was moving out of country for missionary work and they still said, "sorry is there anything else I can help you with"? I have written two letters, made 5 phone calls and Im still stuck with $200 that I did not allow them to charge. I decided to look up some reviews and NOW i see that Im not the only one in this situation! Im not calling my lawyer and I have disputed my credit card. THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU SIGN UP! ABSOLUTELY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER YOU SIGN UP!!! I even got an email stating "we can help you with that $200 by putting it towards another year contract"! I read another review that found their corporate phone # to a higher department 1-310-964-5000. She said she just hit a bunch a numbers and finally got someone if not she was gonna drive to the place. I want my $200 back.
