Direct sales represenatives tolod me lies like 1. You own the equipment afetr 24 months. Wrong 2. You can operate 2 TV's off 1 receiver. Wrong 3. You do not have a protection plan fee. Wrong 4. You are promised great customer service. Wrong 5. When you report a concern they act as if you made up things, their sales staff are knowledgeable. Wrong In fact, if you don't make yourself aware what you are getting, you are at fault because they don't make mistakes 6. Buyer beware, make your call to Dish Network, cutomer service A+

My family has decided to switch our service to a bundle package and same a considerable amount of money per month. I called to cancel my DirectTV service and they informed me that I am still under contract! We have been a customer since 2006 and I'm still under contract? I signed a 1 year contract! I was informed that any changes to the account means the contract is renewed . . .there has been not 1 person who ever informed me of this until now! I will NEVER use them again! This company is one of the biggest rip-offs I've ever seen!

I just switched to Direct TV and it sucks it is very expensive and it has absulotely nothing on it to watch however I have to keep it a year and it so worthless the reason I got it was because we have vacation home that on has Direct Tv and they told me I could bundle it together now we can't bundle some *** reason and it has nothing to watch especially when you are at home most of the time a vacation home I can handle but I hate Direct TV .It Sucks so bad I hate the move I made.

Directv in Anderson, California - Direct TV dishonest service charges.
In January we had a problem with our reception. A service representative came to our house to investigate the problem. He discovered that the eye on the satellite was faulty and replaced it. In Febuary we received our bill with a $49.95 service charge. When I called to dispute the charge I was told that they would apply a $35 credit but we would have to pay the remaining $14.95, and suggested I add their $5.99 monthly protection to avoid this service charge in the future. I emailed Direct TV and they replied that they leased the equiptment and as such the service charge was not their problem and I would have to pay it. This is just a marketing strategy to force customers to pay extra monthly fees for their protection plan and as such is an unethical way for them to avoid taking responsibilty for faulty equiptment provided, delivered and installed for them. Once our contract is over we are hooking up our computer to our TV and watching television shows via the internet for free. We may not be able to record what we watch and we may not have some "perks" but at least we won't be paying an outrageous monthly fee to a company that manipultates their customers in this manner.

MY MOM IS A WIDOW AND DOES NOT ASK FOR MUCH BUT SHE HAS DIRECT TV AND THEY REDID THEIR PKGS AGAIN AND TOOK OFF THE OLDTIME MUSIC CHANNELS AND THIS IS WHAT SHE REALLY HAD THE SATELITE FOR. NOW SHE DOESNT HAVE THAT. WHAT DO YOU TELL YOUR MOTHER WHEN SHE CANT KEEP TO HER MUSIC ROOTS. Here's a kicker was a customer for over 3 years of Direct tv.I moved and had no issues paid out the ying yang to put in wiring issues.I had fulfilled my contract over 12 months and ended up moving to a place that won't allow satellite tv. So, called them got the boxes sent them back like a good girl. Next thing I know they take out almost 400 hundred dollars from my bank account saying I didn't fulfill my contract but umm they made the mistake and told me it would be 4 to 8 weeks to refund my money but it took them 1 day to withdraw the money. Then because I had an extra receiver they said I had to go an additional 5 months so it cost me another 100 dollars. I did everything right and was never late on my payments and I completed my contract...Not to mention the receiver had so many issues there was a point that I had no service in the bedroom cause of faulty equipment grrrrr....They have lost my business forever!!! You don't treat your customers like that and I own a business and believe me when new people come to my area, I won't be telling them to go to Direct Tv!!!!! They are a complete scam!!!!!!!!!
Directv in Portland, Oregon - Music Channel changes
Just today you changed all of the music channels. Do we get advance notice of such? Can we be told what channels might be similar in music to the old channel. For example you used to have channel 820 Escape and now it is gone. The same as 808 and 811 for country channels. We have been a Direct TV customers for many years and all I am asking is for advance notice or if a channel is being replaced or deleted are their alternatives. Trust me, I want to stay with our present TV provider but am asking for a response.
