Directv in Denver, Colorado - Direct TV is a Scam
I purchased service from Direct TV about 15 months ago. I recently lost my job and can NOT afford the luxury of TV subscription. I called to ask them to have my account cancelled or possibly even suspended and they said they would stick me with a $20 a month early cancellation fee. They renewed my contract when their equipment failed at 12 months and said it would be an additional 24 months from that point, the would be over $300. I told them I will never be a customer of theirs again once I complete this deal and I will advocate that NO ONE subscribe to these crooks for the rest of my life. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO DIRECTV THEY ARE CROOKS and You WILL REGRET IT.

Tried to contact Direct TV because I lost signal on one unit only. After calling six different numbers (first five were disconnected), I finally got their canned tech service. The computer walked me through exactly the same trouble shooting steps I had followed in the book left by the installer. Five minutes I was allowed to speak to the rudest human they could find. The call was concluded without any additional information or resolution. I hung up got on line and resolved the problem by following a recommendation I found on-line. Twenty months and counting to change back to a REAL communication provider.

I have sumbmit a letter to damage control , On Dec 22 a Direct Tv man was to install the HD on my 40 inch TV and the next day my home was broken in an the window that they came in was next to the dish and a piece of equitment was used. The TV was stolen . I have sent pictures ot the TV poice complant number and the tech nameto the damage control dept . I need my TV replace and my window repace. The direct TV man was the only one that was in my home on those days. I need to get this taken care ASAP. Feel free to call me 615-596-1474 and I am a customer. I recentley left direct tv to go with Comcast. Comcast has screwed me to the wall and I am being charged 30 dollars a month more than I was quoted and told oh well, you can give up some of your features to get to that price. Cancellation with direct tv has been a nightmare. They already got a month of my money for no service and are trying to make me pay another month and then in 6 to 8 weeks they will refund me any refunds due. We have refused and are demanding a revised bill. They are saying they can't do it and the lady just sat and screamed at me and interrupted everything I tried to say. We have told them we are filing a complaint with the FCC, BBB and our state attorney generals office. They just laughed. Ticked in Texas.

I originally signed up with DirectTV ofter horrible service with Comcast. My Comcast serviceman actually told me to go to DirectTV. I took his advice and signed up. I did the Verizon Triple Play and received a whole bunch of Premium channels and a couple of receivers and DVR free. They told me that I had all of these free channels for a few months. They also told me that I would receive the NFL Ticket as well. No offense to football fans but I told them that I would never need that service and requested to cancel immediately. They told me that I had to wait until the end of the promotion period to cancel the services. So when I called to cancel after my promotional period had ended they offered me an additional 3 months of a premium channel (HBO/Cinemax I think). I foolishly accepted and they continued the NFL Sunday Ticket. So, I cancelled the premium channel after the promotion period and thought that was that. After reviewing the next couple of bills and noticed that they were correct I just paid my bill like normal. Well shame on me, I did not notice that they started charging me for NFL Sunday Ticket again. I just got off the phone with those smart-A@#es and they said that I made an agreement and I had to abide by it. I told them that I never authorized NFL Sunday Ticket and they said that I did when I accepted "HBO" and that I never officially cancelled NFL Sunday Ticket. Anyway they made an offer that they would credit me 3 months and remove me from further billing or I could pay the full amount and the cancellation fee of $200 if I didn't like it. I must admit that my service is way better than Comcast but I think both of their customer service departments suck. So if you learn anything from this b%$tch session. Please be aware that there is nothing that these companys will give you for free and there is alway a motive. If you let your guard down, they will find a way to burn you.

Throughout 20 hours OD calling direct tv services during the holidays and today the female tec in miss. hung up on me. All this on top of paying a service fee every month. I have suffered through countless menue,s all with the same message! I cant turn the tv off! They have barracaded themselves in so the customer can no longer get through by phone or web! The programming has deteriorated to repeats which began with repeats each week now, they repeat every day! I can,t even get through to CANCEL the service!....I am an old lady, can no-one help me.please? And are there no other tv service companies? or, have they got the monopoly on tv service? Can the government do nothing, they ousted the phone co. when they did this. And the better bus. b. do they have their hands tied too by this co.? When did this stop being a democratic country? COMPANIES THIS PATHETIC WOULD HAVE BEEN OUT OF BUISNESS BY NOW. WHEN I WAS YOUNG.

Directv in Des Moines, Iowa - Very poor repair service response
have not had service since 12/30/09 and have to wait until 1/8/2010 to get checked is terrible service when you are paying extra for the service plan.I have missed all the bowl games and have paid for the sunday ticket and missed all of the games for the final week and its frustrating when you call the service number and they won't give you a superrvisor when you ask and could care less if you get it working or not just wants you to accept what ever they tell you and and have the nerve to get an attitude because your upset.
