Directv in Chesterfield, Virginia - Direct TV - service and quality have been abysmal

The equipment does not work and has never worked properly. When I called to complain, DirectTV wanted to charge me a $50 service call just to send someone out to troubleshoot problem. Then they offered me a tech support insurance plan ($5/monthly charge). I was outraged. I am currently locked into a 2-year service contract and I feel like I was duped. I spent nearly 2 hours on the phone getting my issue resolved, there were two disconnects and several long delays. I've had DISH, Comcast cable and Direct TV. Comcast was the best service, the best price and now that they offer international channels, I am not forced to buy into the satellite scam. DISH was better than Direct, but they had major issues assisting me with technical problems. As soon as my DirectTV contract is up, goodbye DirectTV.

Next time you sign a contract you have the right to amend it. I did and I wrote in the contract that if my sattelite goes out or anything they have to be out withing 24 hours to fix it and if the channels change I have the right to terminate my contract with no charge. They had to come out on New Years Day and they did!

I was a faithful customer for 10 years with Direct T.V. until a customer service supervisor named Joesph hung up on my daughter after an internal error on Direct T.V. part spoiled my daughter's Christmas gift to me. The company acted as if they no longer needed our business, so they got there wish. After three calls to there company one for 19 minutes,one for 29 minutes and the last for 31 minutes with no results I changed to Dish and I will never go back and will pass my story against Direct to everyone that ask. Pissed off, you bet!

Directv in Flushing, Michigan - Direct tv is screwing me. cheaters

i have only had direct tv since nov 11 09. have not been satisfied with the cable service or the billing department. Called numerous times to get the bill amount and name corrected. after 2 calls to them it is still not corrected. called 12-28-09 and spent over 2 1/2 hrs on the phone w 6 different people all of them told me something different, asked them what was documented on my file from previous conversations, sorry the didnt document that part, is what they told me. one guy laughed at me, and told me our conversations are recorded randomly. another told me that she would have to contact another department to get the conversations. 4 people told me i have to pay over two hundred to cancel and the last 2 told me that they lied and it would be over 400.00 the last conversation i had was supposed to be with a supervisor and she threatened that if i cancel i had 5 days to pay the over 400.00 or they will take it directly out of my account. I told her to F off. i have had there service for less than 2 months have had horrible customer service and bad tv connections. they didn't hold up to their so called PROMISE, they advertise. they are a complete scam!!!!

i thought id try it ? it was cheaper than cable BUT the flyer i had said $29.99 but you know i credit wasnt good for that price i had to pay $35.99 and do auto payment after only one week of service they charged my cc $75.99 so i called them and said take it out ?

i was pissed i talked to every *** there and now i have a ding of $866.00 on my credit report for collections i payed for the mo. i watched it but i had called them and told them to turn it off after 2 weeks it wasnt what i was told i was getting or what i was told id be paying they were wrong and they think i'll pay it : STAY AWAY FROM DIRECTV ITS A SCAM AND YOU WILL LOSE IN THE END

:( :( i also hate directv. like you said their customer service SUCKS!!

the only way to get a person is if you push the button to sign up for service. i am pissed about having to wait between 1 1/2 & 2 months for rebates to apply so my bill will be what the sale flyers stated (29.99) instead of 80.00.

Directv in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - Direct t.v just screwed me!

Had an ORAL agreement with them on Nov 15,2008 for 2 yr service with a lock in price of $29.00 a month.Been great til today when I get my online statement for $55.00 plus other fees making my bill over $77.00!!! I contacted them and asked them what happened to my 2 yr deal.Deal was only good for a year but to cancel my contract for the next year it s going to cost me $220!!! lol isnt that less than my $29.00 a month?! still not oaying cancellation fee.I honored a yr and you cant honor my price you quoted,then they told me they were gonna take it automatically out of checking acct but really cant do that when the acct is closed huh!!I caant afford to pay over $77 with a one person income. thanks for supporting the broke economy

had service for a month and half, all i have had is problems wiht my bills and bad tv connections. spent 2 1/2 hrs on the phone and had 4 people tell me i had to pay over two hundred and then had the last 2 people try to tell me over 400.00, cant ever talk to anyone that can do anything about it either

Directv in Cypress, Texas - Direct TV is a scam and has THE WORST customer service ever!!!

I live in NW Houston, TX and... I recently wanted to quit Direct TV because I wanted an HD/DVR and they would not give it to me (wanted to charge $200), so my contract was up anyway, so I called Dish Network and they promised the HD/DVR as well as an additional HD receiver for my bedroom. So I lined up an install with Dish. When I called Direct TV, they offered the HD/DVR to me for free if I stayed with Direct. I made it clear to the sales rep that I wanted to keep my old HD receiver. I even made her repeat that I wanted both receivers. Then when the tech came out to install, he never made mention of the fact that he wanted the old receiver. I had already disconnected it myself and set it aside. While I was in the room 90% of the time, I did walk out a couple of times and only for a few minutes. This guy claimed to be a "Sr Tech" that had been with Direct for 10 years, but struggled for a solid hour hooking this thing up, but finally did. I never did see him take the receiver with him. He must have snuck it out while I had gone in the other room. Anyway, there was no mention on the new contract that the old receiver was to be taken. The only thing it said was "upgrade" in the upper left hand corner which he had written in. I have a feeling he knew exactly what he was doing in swiping my receiver. Later, when I realized that my receiver was missing, I called Direct, but first confirmed that they had on file that I had 2 HD receivers. To make an already long story alittle shorter, they are giving me the shaft and not giving me the receiver back. I've talked to 4 different CS reps and no luck. One was even rude to me saying that I was wasting my time and it wasn't there fault I didn't read the contract. Well, I did read the contract. I doesn't say anything about taking my old receiver. I am facing a $480 fee if I break my new 24 month contract. Oh....I am going to fight this all the way to the end....you better believe it. I have done alot of research and found ways to get out of Direct TV's little "contract" without paying much at all. It's more of the principle than the money at this point. They lied and insulted me and I am pissed!!!

Directv in El Cerrito, California - Direct tv lies

Recently I switched to Direct TV and was told I could add an aditional box at my convience so when I called to add it I was told that it would cost an extra $196.18 since it was over 14 days! NICE... I was also quoted 1 price on internet service and was charged another. I can't wait until the early termination is over so I won't pay those exorbarant cost and I can go back to CABLE.would not recomend this company to anyone thinking of changing,Wish I had stayed with cable !!!!If your thinking of going with Direct TV DON'T!!!!!!

Direct TV charged my account for 7, yes SEVEN recvrs. The invoice was so convoluted it was 5 months before I was able to determine what was going on.

After repeated telephone calls and whining I was reimbursed almost $200.00 (credited to my account).

I suspect the installer made the error intentionally because I insisted the dish be mounted in a location of my chosing, not his. :x

direct t.v. are liares when we decided to go with another company and we did not pay the last bill because of the *** job they did in the first place.they told us we would bill us when the guy came out to fix the 10foot line that i had to wrap myself wrap it upand put in a publix bag the rest of it was laying in mud every time the wind blew the t.v.would go out so if a hurricane was coming we would not know..another thingwe never gave them permission to go in are account we paid by phone maybe 2 times well they went in to are account to get the last payment which is against the law....we never gave them permission..at&t told me unless we give them permission 4 every mon.that can not to this...they ruin are bank account.but i am calling the news paper congressmen&b.b.b.

andfla. dept.of.agriculture&consumer services when i get done with directt.v. nobody willuse them.

Directv in Westerville, Ohio - They wont give me my money back

I am not even a customer and after reading these complaints I am so glad that i am not!!! on the 14th I put in an order for service and they took an authorization of $25 and where supposed to come out on the 19th (they didnt) so I cancelled the order. Now the SOB's act like they dont want to give me my $25 back. I will be filing a complaint with the Ohio Attorney Generals Office. I dont recommend anyone get this direct tv bs!!!!!!!!!! I am so thankful for sites like this where a consumer can complain and feel somewhat better.

I had an installation today schedule for 8-12. Kendall did arrive this morning on time and was very nice when I was talking to him.

At 11:30 Kendall left me house and said that the system was out across the country and there was nothing he could do. It might take up to 3 hours for the system to come back up. I have waited, waited and waited. When I called in to check on the status of the account and to see if the system had been fixed, no one knew what I was talking about.

Nathan LC4425 was on the phone with me for 1 hr 20 min trying to install the system for me. He was very kind and helpful. When I was transferred to Supervisor Louis, the call had dropped. I called back and talked with a George and was on hold for about another 25 minutes.

Supervisor Kevin LKC4117 came on the phone as I wanted the account notes that 3 out of the 4 system were not up and running. I also informed Nathan and Kevin that I hadn't sign any paperwork today for my installation and didn't want my account debit until the installation was 100% completed. I informed Kevin to please take me off of automatic debit as well. I do not feel it is the customer responsibility to track down the installer to find out what is going on.

This is why I called the office. I have been on the phone with your company from 4:56pm to 9:03pm. I am not sure what my account number is, when my 1st bill will come out and when the installation will be completed at this time. I did schedule another tech to come out next Saturday, August 24 9 am - 12pm

Please help me understand as a first time customer how does this happened?

Please let me know how much of a credit you will be crediting my account with for such rude customer service today. Thank you to Nathan & Kevin!

Directv in Columbus, Ohio - Charged me for premium channels that I do not have

They claim to be #1 in customer satisfaction? What a joke. The majority of their reps are extremely rude and they talk to you like you work @ Directv and should know what they are talking about? Are you serious? I am sick of them and I am not going to pay to be abused anymore. This is a lesson in checking your statements closely. I almost paid my bill with an overcharge of $64.59 for premium channels that I have not had since July of 2009. I called billing and you guessed it I had to be transferred to another department&then I would be transferred back to billing for the adjustment? Are you kidding me? No he was serious. Long story short I was transferred to a "specialist" and she offered me a 1 time inconvenience credit which was less than my overcharge or I could get $20 over the next 6 months? I wanted the 1 time credit because I plan to cancel my service. However, it should not have been called an inconvenience credit because there is no such thing so why call it that? I do not like a play on words or trickery. I asked for a supervisor because of this reps confusing offers. I spoke with an unpleasant Ashley who told me we were on the same page about the overcharge credit but we weren't. I wanted to talk about the offer of trickery that is apparently how they attempt to keep their customers but I am not *** and not going to fall for it. After she continued to be rude I asked who her manager was and she told me "nobody is higher than her"? When I inquired on canceling my service she told me "she would be happy to help me with that all she had to do was hit a cancel button". Now I am pissed. I am shocked at the behavior of a supposed supervisor? I did not say cancel my service I asked about the procedure. They claim to have 1 million new customers in the past year so I guess they do not need me but I have been a loyal customer since 2003 and I have had 6 or 7 defective DVR's in that period. Talk about an inconvenience but I have remained loyal until now. I do not care that they claim Dish has lost 180,000 customers. Now they have only lost 179,999 because I am done with Directv.
