Directv in Bethesda, Maryland - Paid for Cricket package..can't watch it!

I paid $59 to Direct TV to watch the Australia v West Indies cricket test series and unable to watch the 3rd test. They need to send a technician out long after the series will be finished. Not the 1st time I have had problems with Direct TV since my install 6 months ago - 3 months in, I had no service for 2 weeks! Of all the cable companies I have been with in different countries around the world, this is by far the worst! I can't wait till my contract ends.. they make Comcast look very good. Very frustrating..

Directv in Sacramento, California - Direct TV is the worst tv provider ever!

I agree with all of the unhappy customers of Direct Tv. When I signed up for this service I advised I needed 4 tv's hooked up. They assured me this is would be done, then installer comes, puts 2 in and tells me I need to run a cable to connect the other 2 tvs. I called the company, they said I signed the work order so I was SOL! I asked to hear the recording of my order conversation, they have NO ACCESS!!! I asked for managers and supervisors and was given the run around some more. I called many times and got the run around everytime, I gave up! Free move, another load of ***, only if you've stuck with them for 12 months! It's been 7!! This is the worst tv provider I have ever had to deal with....

DIRECTV thank us for being a loyal customer and then changed our grandfathered package. Too many shopping channels and so many commercials on the few channels worth watching - they suck!

Both direct tv and dishnetwork make tons of money and will not scold the channel providers of excessive ads and *** promos. What a bunch of bs this is; welcome to monopolistic proacites and corporate america.

I feel you, pay more than what they told me it would be yet they gave me a *** service with bad signal and never sent anybody when I called them to fix it.

However, they have the guts to charge me extra for no reason at all... maybe I have to pay for the *** service they give, which makes no sense.

Directv in Indianapolis, Indiana - Buy recorder and record all phone conversations with Direct TV

Whenever you call Direct TV, you will get a recording saying, "This call may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance". This is your permission to record the conversation. Do SO. You do not need to tell whomever you speak with, that you are recording the conversation. In many states, such as Indiana, only one party has to be aware of the recording. Before calling, make a script. Outline what you wish to say and have all relevant information in front of you. Make sure that you get the customer service person's name and id. When starting the conversation, or during the conversation, make sure that you get the date and time in. Say something like, "You know, today it December 16, 2009, and its 11:12 AM, and I have a lot of important appointmenst to keep. Can you assist me with this matter. That date stamps when the call was made. Don't let a contract, that you didn't sign, keep you from taking this company to small claims. Oral contracts are enforceable, if all parties keep to the contract and it is fully understood by all parties what the contract details.

Directv in Fremont, California - Directed tv sucks

They have the worst customer service of anyone I know. They are not helpful at all, just transfer you around. I have been trying to get a refund since August. But still after make 5 phone calls, no one knows why I haven't been issued a refund check, again I am told to call the billing department. Then I am put on hold for 15 minutes, talk to someone, am cut off, call back and try to get the same person and that person is on the phone with someone else so I have to start my story all over again...they suck!

I told the guy iwas disabled and spent half my time in bed...to no avail he left and said he was going to check out his hunting camp and left...wildblue was just as messed up installation was beyond sloppy, called direct tv said no longer their problem and to call wildblue even though direct tv tech did the work...do not get involved with this company you WILL be sorry

Directv in Lewiston, Maine - Direct TV

The process I indured for signing up for Direct TV service, When I got Direct TVs ad for opt in, it was short of letting you know how there charges were all about. The part I didnt like was that there was a Bundle program that for my area that wasnt going to happen. In stead of telling me that they wasnt sure it was for my area, the service person said the bundle is no problem. Thats the 2nd big reason I wanted to go with Direct TV. The bundle program would make my DSL and Television alot easier to bear monetarily. So Im stuck with them for 2 yrs after that maybe the Maine utilities Comm or another dept of the state might have some laws controlling them more. The service in the field is fine but they better take care of the people that surpose to do their jobs as reps of the company to better explain and do what they are surpose to do to not deceive the public to get customers.

Directv in Miami, Florida - A disaster! The sevice is disgusting

Direct TV is a disaster. A few clouds and your reception is gone. We are watching the Heisman and just when they were to annound the winner, the picture is gone. This happens regularly. Good luck trying to get out of the contract! They are theives and the service is horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't ever order extra services because you will be billed for it forever. There has been litigation regarding this but the practice has not stopped. They will get you with offers to sign up and you will end up being a slave to them. Be warned and be careful.

I hope you did not hire an attorney for this.... Your states attorney general will help you out for free.

They will not take your case to trial, but if Directv has voided their own contract, then all you have to do is inform them that they have done so and if in fact you want to drop them at that point, make sure to let them know that you will be filing a complaint with your states AG. At that point if Directv engages you in payments you do not owe due to their contract void, the complaint was already filed and you can act on it.

You see your states AG is there to protect the consumer as well as the interests of the state. Plus the cool part is it's free, well actually you paid for it every time you purchased something or paid a tax...
