Directv in Yuma, Arizona - levied charges for services not delivered or ordered

We ordered the Dbacks series last summer and over half of the games were blocked. Last month after we cancelled Direct TV we were charged for pay for view services that we did not order and now we are told if we don't pay that bogus charge it will be turned to a collection agency .Any time we have tried to contact a representative we always connected to more recorded messages. and the line up of what is available to watch is poor, mostly old reruns. Switching back to cable tv has been a much better choice for us.

Directv in Los Angeles, California - How to beat Direct TV at their game

If you did not sign a new contract, refuse to pay the cancellation fee. Let them send you to collections, and when the collections agency calls, simply tell them that the bill from Direct TV is a "disputed bill". The collections agency will freeze any further action and send it back to Direct TV. They in turn will harass you from time to time, but it's their time being wasted. Also, if they have siezed money from your account, take 'em to small claims, as any court costs will be awarded back to you in your favorable judgement. I went through the early cancellation fee from these clowns in March of 2008. I have not sent them a dime, and told them to take ME to court. They will not. Any collections calls get the same response, the bill is disputed. I think Direct TV has finally given up, I haven't heard from them in months.

Don't plan on trying them out to find that if you're not happy with their services they stuff a 400.00 cancellation FEE down your throat, by automatically debiting your personal checking account. And getting away with it too. I will never do business with them again..never! A contract starts with a meeting of the minds, in their mind its one way, their way, they will not work with you, like it or not they steal from your account, as far as I was concerned i did not authorize any debit from my account. don't get it

Directv in Milledgeville, Georgia - Failed to meet their obligations and lied about it

nothing they said to me when I purchased direct tv starting with a rebate which is still going on since April, and no one can help. Sending my bills to the wrong address, not explaining things to me, and still charging me the wrong amount because rebate center and direct tv can't help me, they send me from one to the other and no helps. I am tired of being lied to and them saying I'm sorry but our department or direct tv can' t do anything it has to be done in rebate, then rebate saids its direct tv. So I am calling Better Business Bureau tomorrow and an attorney to get back the money they keep overcharging me.

i originally contacted att.for phone internet and tv they told me it would cost me $ 99.00 a month that was 3 months ago my 1st bill was $180.00 just for phone and internet i went without tv for a month they told me that because of my credit rating i would have to make a pre payment of $426.00 wich i made they told me that i would have to sign up for my rebate but failed to tell me i couldn't do so until i had an acct.# so here i am 3 months later paying $90. a month for phone and internet to att. and $66.00 to direct tv and i'm on fixed in come i would be very pleased if someone could give me some advice my email is above

direct tv is crooked they are dishonest. i intend to take them to court if i can, maddoxdoreen@yahoo.com if anyone out there has a complaint please lets try to file a class action suit or something. they say your bill is one amount and each month the is higher also...

Directv liar liar pants on fire

Well, I just read a complaint concerning Directv and I just want to duplicate the complaint. Directv make lies upon lies, if you want out (even if you just started 2 weeks previously) over $400 fees to be released from their clutches. I was told I had 30 days to decide if I wanted a 2 year contract. If I didn't go with the 2 year contract, I was told I would have to pay $10 more per month after the first year. I called to tell them I didn't want the 2 year contract. They had no idea what I was talking about! Setup people say one thing, then when you get the bill, the nightmare begins. Can't someone stop these people?? Why doesn't the government do something!! This is a consumer rip off!! Beware!!

Directv in High Point, North Carolina - Direct TV will be brought to justice soon!!!

I signed up for the 29.00 package like many Americans were fooled into. I immediately suspected something when I received my first bill for 79.00 and upon calling customer service, was told that they have to bill at what the "prior-to discount price" is on the first bill.....which, of course, was NEVER covered whatsoever by the sales rep. My next month's bill was over 100.00 and my bill didn't EVER come close to the 29.00 that was untruthfully advertised.....in fact, it was always around 100.00, so I called to tell them I would not EVER pay them for anything above the agreed upon price of 29.00. Direct TV is the biggest SCAM on the internet. I am also a political advisor for a local Senator and have gotten him involved with taking on this scam..We have contacted several Senators and Congressmen who all agreed that something needs to be done about a company with such unethical and illegal activities. They are working on a bill as we speak to not only fine this unscrupulous company, but also to shut-down continued abusers of false advertisement and to do away with all the small, hard to read *** their predatory lawyers conjure up... Please join us in SHUTTING DOWN this horrible company that takes advantage of good, honest Americans who are going through tough economic times!!! Don Robinson, I wish you the best in your endeavors to pass a bill to stop the unfair overcharging and lying from corrupt companies that prey upon the unsuspecting hard-working public. I too was mislead into believing that DirecTV would be cheaper than the traditional cable company.

One week after install and finding out that DirecTV would not be able to provide services that I had signed up for, I requested to cancel the account. At that time, I found that we had been locked into a 24 month lease agreement with a $480 cancellation fee, which was never disclosed at any time to us. Our current home is only to be a temporary arrangement and I would not have set myself up for a 2 year agreement knowing I would be moving again in about a year. I refuse to pay them for services they did not adequately provide, nor will I pay a cancellation fee that is active for 2 years after only a 24 hour window.

Most companies would be understanding enough to waive this cancellation fee after only having service for a week, but not this one! They need to learn that abusing their customers and unethical business practices will not be tolerated nor allowed to continue!

Don Robinson.. I pray that you can help all the innocent people that have been suckered in by Direct TV and make them return all the money they have stolen from their customers.I too am a victim I have had direct tv for 5 long months(5 of the longest months of my life) I pay them with money orders and they say they did not get 3 of my payments and are demanding payment or will shut off my service.The money orders have been cashed verified by money gram.I am lucky my local cable co is offering to pay off my contract with Direct TV for $300 or less.

you all might try calling your local cable co and asking if they have a buy out plan.The cable co has no contract to sign,I worry that Direct TV will not give me credit for the returned receivers.

I do not want to cancel my credit card as this goes against my credit I will call credit card co and ask what I can do before I cancel my service with Direct TV. Keep reminding them that something MUST be done NOW to protect innocent people of these devious practices by Direct TV!

In my case, they just deliberately stole my money. I returned the boxes but never received the refund of $770 for the boxes. They charged my card for $1050 which includes a cancellation fee I never knew I had. I had the service over 2 years. It is so useless to talk to anyone over there.

I even talked to a supervisor. Was not any better. Just a better liar.

Please help us all!! My Gosh, how could this happen?

Sorry you feel so unimportant and have no belief in the system. The Senator does care and does not "line his pockets"...he is one of the few that truly cares.

The legally binding print is one of the catalysts that we are concerned about as are the untruthful statements from customer support representatives.

There is a new climate in today's politics that is pointing the gun at big corporations that have been gluttonous and predatory on the American public. We are working on a bill similar to what was passed against the credit card industry which will cut out untruthful advertisement as well as the hard to read and understand fine print that they use to snare victims.

I urge you to join this movement and realize that one person, combined with many other voices, DOES make a difference. We, as Americans, have a right to stand up to injustice and put these corrupt companies in their place!!

I'm sorry you were mislead - I was too, however there's nothing that can be done.

Take it on the chin and learn from your mistakes. If you're a political advisor, you should know that whatever is in print is legally binding and heresay from a "customer support representative" is worth very little.

DTV SUCKS!!!! I ordered this service because my brother had it for 5 years and there was a friends and family referral for 100.00 off for he and I . After I had my installation on Monday the following Monday I received a letter saying that DTV will not be honoring the friends and family because I did not call in on the right phone #. This is after the customer service rep. that I spoke to assured me that everything was in order that my brother and I would receive the rebate in 10 monthly installments. Then I receive this letter 7 days later. When I call customer service and they told me basically oh well and that I was in a contract now and there is nothing I can do about it. You have got to be kidding me!!!! This is what your calling a good company!!! This company sucks!!! I cancelled my service and now they have sent me bill with a $430.00 cancellation fee that they will never see!!! What kind of company does something like this!!!! They lost me as a new customer, and my Bro. as a long standing great customer. If you think that is a good company I hate to see what you think is a bad company!!!!

i am a subscriber of direct tv in Trinidad and i am very pissed that we dont get all the soccer events like south american world cup qualifers and also confederation cups and other major soccer events also please try and bring sentanta so that we can get comentating in english and not espanol for sports fans of soccer it bad because when your friends ask you if you are watching these soccer tournament and what games were good you cant say a word also if they ask you what cable company you are with you say direct tv they laugh because cctt flow are bringing all those soccer tournaments
