Directv in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania - DirectTV and Verizon tied me to a contract they can't fulfill

Verizon's Triple Play can not provide internet service to everyone, but they will "sorry you were misinformed" you until after contract with DirectTV is signed. Now neither company backs the other. DirectTV will not work with you. You Signed a contract on good faith with "Verizon". Verizon will only offer phone & TV for $95.00 mth (Triple Play was offered at $74.88) DirectTV has already secured a $346.28 deposit directly from checking account now wants another $480.00. Must be hurting for money not customers because all they had to do was offer a solution ie: a lower rate, shorter commitment, something all i got was " SORRY YOU WERE MISINFORMED"!

i would sue for breach of contract since the contract was to purchase access to services they are not willing to provide and in the interim i would change my bank information and dispute the charges that they already got from you

They (direct TV) screwed me over as well I had a box I bought for a $100.00 from them and sold my house. They cancelled my service until I moved onto my 5th wheel (retired and traveling).

When I called them they said I need to buy a new box because they took the old one out of the system.

( 3 boxes @ 100.00 each, 300.00). Gone!!!

how *** to complain about something like this I mean really, if you suspend ANYTHING what makes you think that its not going to turn back on??? So let me guess you must have had a commitment left on the account and you suspended your services to advion the early cancelation fee and now you feel as if you dont own any money because he you furfilled your commitment right????

WRONG you did not furfill anything, your 12, 18 or 24 month comitment meant for PAYING SERVICES FROM YOU!!! Directv even sends you out a letter letting you know that your services are going to be reinstated automatically. You didnt call to change this so how are they to know that you are not actually using the services, just because you ignore something it doesn't mean its going to go away. Sueing directv for this will be very *** on your behalf because trust me they are covered on this one you are just going to waste your money and they're lawyers are going to make you look like and ***, which in my opinion you probably are.

You are right it is a recession, this means that companies must protect themselves to.

Oh so now you think directv is the bad guy because YOU made the choice to go somewhere else and suspend your account instead if diconnecting, and Directv sent you a letter letting you know that the services were being turned on and you failed to call them untill you started getting the collection calls??? Oh you poor baby, READ THE STUFF COMPANIES SEND YOU WOULDNT HAVE PROBLEMS!!!! What if that was a letter letting you know that you needed to return the equipment or you would have owed the the $300 for that???

If you dont do what you have to for your best interests then its your fault.

By the way I was a directv customer for years and once I can afford it I will be back because they do the best they can to keep their customers informed, and they do have the best services. Its really not their fault that people are absolute *** and refuse to keep themselves informed.

Directv in Oquawka, Illinois - Unautherized charge to my credit card for $626.85

directv customer since PRIMESTAR, approx. 12 years. recent offer in an ad announced discounts and rebates. 12 month contract ended up being an 18 month contract. rebates never materialized. numerous calls, and "so called " RESOLUTION TEAM never produced my rebates. i stopped paying. received final bill for numerous charges, and finally they charged my credit card $626.85. they had my card number from an original shipping and handling fee for the receiver (they charged tax on this fee) underhanded way of getting card numbers. contacted visa to dipute not only the charges, but the unautherized charge to my card. will also contact BBB and IRS (tax on shipping and handling?)WWIII!

if you have been a customer for so long with directv why haven't you read the customer agreement they send you and updated one EVERY YEAR!!!! It even states in that agreement, and this is going to be word for word for you because it seems that you complain without having your facts in line) this is from the directv customer agreement that they sent to you, from the Cancellation section, this is section five, row e

(e) Payment Upon Cancellation. You acknowledge that you have provided your credit or debit card account information to us. You understand that you will incur fees and charges as a result of your receipt and use of Service and/or Receiving Equipment, and may incur early cancellation fees and/or equipment non-return fees (as specified in any lease, programming or other service commitment agreement you entered into in connection with obtaining Receiving Equipment). By giving us your credit or debit card account information, you authorize us to apply this method of payment, in accordance with applicable law, to satisfy any and all amounts due upon cancellation. You further acknowledge that you are required to maintain current credit or debit card information with us and agree to notify us whenever there is a change in such information, such as a change in the card number or the expiration date.

wow so really its not a companies fault if you dont keep yourself educated as a customer. Besides directv is not the only company now who requires a credit card on file for a consumer to remain a customer with them, and it todays world who can blame them. They are not criminals they are a business, and not a charity, they are going to keep their investments in mind.

Regarding your comments about Direct TV's invisible contracts:

First, you should be sure of your information before you accuse. I have been a customer of Direct TV for 12 years and am very happy. I chose to not deal with the companies who claim to be Direct TV, when in fact they are only trying to make a fast buck. I dealt directly with Direct TV and NEVER was I fed a false statement in order for a representative to make a sale. Either you want the service, or you do not. I still deal directly with Direct TV and not with some franchise company and/or individual. If you want the straight story call customer service and not the company you dealt with. Make sure the flier you get in the mail is from Direct TV and not some other company.

It's too bad that there are dishonest people in this world, but they do exist. Be sure of your facts before you accuse.

Directv in Carlsbad, New Mexico - Didn't reconnect my service, now charging me for service i didnt receive

I used to be a customer of DirectTV, but when i moved they were to re-connect me they never showed up. They finally contacted me about my service and when i told them it had never been re-connected the lady re-scheduled an appointment for them to be there. And again they never showed up. So i called another company for cable. Now i am getting a letter saying i owe $1,210.40 (for 4 receivers that were shipped back months ago). We use to love Direct TV now I tell everyone I know , Call somebody else.

Directv in Morgan Hill, California - Direct tv bad service

I'm a long time customer with Direct Tv till the date that I switched to HD everything was okay. A Month into this service things went so bad that I wanted to be disconnected from the service with Direct Tv, this would happen at 04-13-2009 bad I been disconnected at 04-01-2009. After several phone calls from at least 30 minutes over the last several day I had my final phone call today 04-04-2009 for more than 90 minutes with the runaround conversations and spook with six different persons with no ability to solve my connection problem. There comments where you have a disconnect running and we cannot give you a service visit to solve your problems. I told them that I will not pay the bill bud that will be bad for my credit report. I'm a disappointed ex Direct Tv customer with no respect for this company anymore R van Rosmalen

Directv in New York, New York - Reinstated Service 6 Months After I moved and charged to my credit card.

I canceled my service when I sold my home last May. They reinstated the service in October and billed my credit card for it. They claimed that I only had "suspended" the service for six months. Since I did not replace this residence, there would have been no reason to suspend, rather than cancel, the service. When I phoned customer service I was kept on hold for over an hour when I asked to speak to a supervisor. The customer service operator, Sheila, did not answer my questions about the length of the wait and simply stayed silently on the line for about a half hour before placing me on hold (with music). This has still not been resolved. I am writing this while on hold and it may never end.

Directv in Athens, Georgia - Direct tv has my bill so screwed up and still are trying to get me to pay it.

I had Direct Tv at one time. It was installed in Tn. and then I moved to Ia. They said it would be put on hold for the tn acct. Then I moved back to Tn and all of a sudden they want a converter box that I had purchased and was told by the installer that whatever I do not to send it back because I had bought it. Direct tv said they had to have it back and at that time my bill was $400 plus. I did not owe anything but somehow they got it so screwed up that the bills I receive now are even higher. IT is different every time. The last time I talked to them on the phone I told them to record the converstation. I told them that they had it so messed up there is no way of fixing it. I do not owe them. Anything. From a bill of $400 it has gone now up to $600 I want this acct cleared. I did not owe them anything. I told them that on the phone and told them i would see them in court before I pay a dime. If anything they probably owe me. It is so messed up. I have called and talked with them many times but I am done. I do not owe them and won't pay them.

We live in an HOA who pays our DirectTv bill each month. Weare new customers as of Jan 2017 We were told not to pay any bills rom Directv until everyone had the service .We owed for a 3rd tv which will cost $7.00 a month..WE pd $7.00 plus 32.72 for our 3rd tv...WE HAVE NO TV SERVICE SINCE LAST WED>PLEASE TURN IT BACK ON OR AM GOING TO GO BACK TO COX TV>ANN SPENCER >>480-985-3841

I cancelled my service within the 15 day allotment but they still charged me the early cancelation fee saying that I didn't allow them to send a technitian out to assess the problem. I said why would I have you send a service guy out when it took your installers three days to install it in the first place and the installer didn't even speak english. I was so pissed and I asked them to show me on the contract where it says I have to allow them to attempt to fix the problem before canceling, very small print WTF Dtv sucks.

This is the same problem I have had with them FOREVER... every stinking month I have to call them.

It's ridiculous.

However, you cannot change ***. They keep hiring people who lack follow-thru, the ability to speak a complete sentence, of take ownership.

I even had a "lady" term used loosley, give me *** for being pissed off that I had to call, yet again for the 3rd time that month. GRRRRR
