Directv in Dallas, Texas - They cancelled our service after 2 years 10 days ago and after numerous calls we do not know why

We have had your service for over 2 years with no major problems other than the DVR installer did not know what he was doing. After getting a call from Dish 4 Less from Miami Florida we added my mother's Tv and paid an extra fee of course.All of the sudden after the first billing statement for my mother and us that we paid in full our service was terminated. We keep asking to talk to a manager and don't get one they keep talking about fraud and have asked us to send drivers license, ss#, proof of residence etc for my 84 year old mother. If there is any fraud is on their side. The BBB should investigate this people.

Brian is correct if you live in two different places you must pay for two different houses. If your mom doesnt live with you, and the services are on at both houses at the same time, then you must pay two different bills or it is Fraud, thats stealing. You would be lucky if they dont sue you for this, that is again if your mom was indeed not living at the same address as you, because you are technically in the wrong.

It is considered illeagle to have one account with multiple locations. If you added a reciever in your mother's home that was being billed to you home account it is considered fraud. She needs to open her own account.

Directv in Detroit, Michigan - Your company makes me wait for four days with no tv when it was your ttecs fault

on the 27th of march you sent people to my house because my hd would not work riteit took all day to repair on sunday march29th at 830am i loose my singal it has been out for 27hours i call an you people set me you for wenesday the 1st of april i am pissed off because why should i wait till wenesday because of your tecs work i have had your tv system for a long time but i will tell you rite how i will not tell anyone to get your system its a shame you folks handle complaints the way you do i dont expect to hear form you people because all you are going to say is wenesday is are earlest day but you can bet i will be looking for other tv service that you.

Directv in Watson, Arkansas - Returning Control Boxes, they're hiding.

We were displaced by Hurricane Ike and have given Direct TV our new address so we can return there control boxes several times. we are living with our daughter and she has another service. The office personnel take our address and promptly send the shipping boxes to the original address. Since we no longer live in Texas it is quite inconvient for to travel 500 miles to track them down. I do feel that if they want their boxes bad enough to find us by phone they could send their return shipping boxes to the correct address!!!!! BBB, here I come.

FIRST OF ALL you are being so petty. Those recovery boxes that are being sent out to you, are done automatically by a COMPUTER, they can cancell those and enter your new address manually. Call them up they will work with you, but here is a hint dont be rude, no one wants to help you if you are being an ***

DIRECT TV HAS NOTHING FOR LOYAL LONG STANDING CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!! I called for better pricing and found out that there is nothing for existing customers. I've been with this company for almost three years. I asked for a dvr box,and was told I have to pay 100 dollars plus shipping plus installation.I Just wish they would give the existing customers something to make them want to stay with direct tv.I wish extra boxes weren't extra. I mean with time Warner you can watch TV in any room for no extra.Because I didn't get a dvr box at first,I have to pay big money now!!!

First of all time warner sucks, second of all if you want to be considered and loyal customer you have to be one. Three years really is not that long with a company. I know it seems like it for you. To meet the standards of being a loyal customer with any company you have to

A.) pay all your bills ON TIME or BEFORE THE DUE DATE

B.) with a satalite or cable company you must pay for more then just the lower packages, that means you spend at least $70 + a month

C.) be with them for at least four years (that means three years of paying the regular prices and any equipment)

Now if you meet these standards, most companies, directv being one of them, work with you. They even send special discounts to you, have you gone to thier website and registered your account??? They would probably update you with specials they are having or even weekends that you may get the movie channels for free. If you pay your services on time and you have not had them interupted they will probably work with you. Here is a hint call them in October this is when all the deals with all televison services are out. This is the best time to be shopping around, and let Directv know your concerns with what you feel you are losing by staying with them and not going to time warner. But dont say "I AM A LOYAL CUSTOMER" or "WHY CANT I GET WHAT THE NEW CUSTOMERS ARE!!" Because you either sound like you feel very entitled or that your a big baby. Now dont be surprized that you get put into a new commitment because that will happen if you get any discounts or free equipment. Besides the $100 for the dvr is for the leased one with a commitment anyway.

I have been a customer of Direct TV for more than 5 yrs. Everytime I call custumer service they want to charge me for speaking with them and they are RUDE!

Due to financial difficulties I called this one time in 5 yrs to have an extension on my bill and I was told no. I ask to speak to a supervisior and I was told no!

Is there not another company that I can switch my service to?? I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!

Directv in Los Angeles, California - Direct TV overcharges and underprovides

When we ordered DTV we understood we would be charged when service begins. Not true. They begin to charge from the day you order. This was confirmed by phone after we were billed. DTV offered 3 months free Showtime,HBO and STARZ. We were charged every month and had to fight the bill every month. Showtime was cut a month early and we were still charged. DTV carries many ESPN channels as part of it's basic package....right up until some important events are scheduled, like the NCAA basketball finals. Then the alternate ESPN channels become pay per view at $14.95 PER GAME. In summary, we were better off with our cable company who could get a bill right, and honestly carried what they promised. DTV is a typical big American business out to make a buck and without any conscience or integrity.

Directv in Winter Park, Florida - Direct TV stealth policy

I recently contacted Direct TV after some four years as my remote had worn out. I was told that they would be happy to upgrade my equipment as the old equipment was old and obsolete. What wasn't told to me was that if I accepted the new equipment, I would be renewing my contract with them for an additional two years. Again I must reiterate that I was never told that during my conversation with the agent. I was to have known that from the agreement on their web site. I am very disappointed by this stealth action to regain my business.

I Hate Directv - What a scam especially their fake cancellation fee that makes no since at all. If i no longer want or need your service..a simply cancellation should be enough. How do they get away with this is a mystery to me and bad business. I cancelled b/c when i was having trouble i needed the repairmen to fix the problem. They also charge $50.00 to come out and for what? They never get it right the first time so now you are in the waiting game paying for something that does not work. PLease think 2x before using Directv for cable.

Direct TV is the worst. Customer service is like dealing with a used car salesman. You know you're going to get ripped off, you just don't know how they're going to do it ------- until you get your bill. They'll offer you free trials for items such as NFL sport packages and then when you cancel your NFL package they tell you it was't cancelled, and you need to pay your bill or they'll shut you off. This company plays a game with you. They trap you in to a package deal with a lot of free-bees for a few months, then BAM they charge you an astronomical bill and tell you that no package was cancelled with them.
