Directv in Freeland, Michigan - Direct TV Early Cancellation fee scam!

Direct TV will tell you anything for a sale! Long Story Short!! Don't believe them! They told me i could cancel early even 'twice'. I returned the equipment although they debited my checking account for the early cancellation fee of $435. Be aware, when the initial order was processed they requested my debit card for taxes & handling. I was assured this was a 1 time only fee and they would not use it again. Wrong! They will!! They said,You verbally went into an agreement with them to do so for any further charges. According to their terms and conditions they never review with you over the phone! I was told this when i called to complain, they didn't care, were not helpful and are obviously use to this Entrapment! Their sales assoc. are trained to handle these Scams!! Anything for a sale! USE Dish network! They are the best!

Directv in Waukee, Iowa - Why cannot I choose the channels I want?

A DirectTv, DishNetwork complain: You pay for a high monthly service and half of your channels are GARBAGE! Why can we consumers choose the channels we want? Are we really a nation of suckers? Why don't we complain and force these crooks to provide the service we want in exchange for the hard-earned dollars we pay them? Where can I bring these complains to? one more thing: When I signed up for the service, I was charged a monthly "leasing" fee for my equipment. After a year, I was told the equipment is mine, but I still see the charge on my bill. When I called, they now say is a "programming fee" for each receiver. Is the charge for copying the programming from one receiver to another. How convenient, uh?

Directv in Lancaster, Pennsylvania - Direct TV customer service problems!

I was in a two year agreement with Direct TV. I purchased a condo and had been previously renting an apartment. The installer came here and mounted the satellite on the roof. The association has strict requirements of where they can be installed. He could not get a signal and left the dish bolted on the roof. I called Dish Network and they came and got a signal but needed to remove Direct TV's satellite. They left the satellite on the roof and I called Direct TV to come pick it up. I know Dish should have taken it off the roof but I understand it's not their equipment. I called customer service and explained the situation and got a rude response saying were not taking it down. I was then told I would have to take it down. I told her I cant go on the roof because the roof does not belong to me. I then asked whose responsible if it falls off the roof and kills someone and she told me if that happens, then you'll have to call to figure it out. So basically Direct TV does care about my well being or the well being of my neighbors. They would rather have me fall off the roof, or have the satellite fall and land on a kid or something. It's not my fault they couldnt get a signal. I had their service for 4 years always paid my bill on time and this is how they treat me. Im not their customer so go die is the impression they gave me. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Beware of Directv!!!

Directv will empty your account. I canceled because of lousy service. I had made two payments by debit card. They got the card number and wiped my account out. They say they have a letter signed by me to do so. However, they will not send me a coopy of it. I did not give them permission to make these withdrawals and it is being investigated my my bank and the Attorney General's Office in Wash., D.C. I e-mailed the Presidents office and I reveived a call from someone named R-----, who just laughed at me when I talked to him. After this investigation, we will see who laughs last. CONSUMER - BEWARE!!!

You probably signed something when they came by and installed it. You have to read the fine print, I noticed the 13 month lease agreement that says if you cancel, you can be charged up to $360.

That's probably what they took out of your account. Nonetheless, they suck, and you either deal with for your lease period, or pay to get rid of the headache.

Directv in Baltimore, Maryland - Direct tv lousey service

I have only had Dtv since 2/2/09. I have had to have a technician to my home 3 times for the same problem. Each time it has taken them 4 days to schedule the appointment leaving us with no tv for 4 days. Customer service people could care less and are not helpful at all. I totally regret cancelling my cable service for Dtv and will tell everyone not to order Direct Tv no matter how cheap their rates are. It is obvious that their service is as cheap as their rates. I guess you get what you pay for.

I just got off the phone with Direct TV and let me tell you that I was a loyal customer fro 7 years. I sent my box back and now received a bill for 3 pay per views from 2007.

Charlene from Direct tv informed me that if my phone line was not plugged into the box, they had no way of knowing that I ordered pay per view. They can only charge me when I return the box and access card. So.....if you are stuck in the contract, unplug your phone line, order all the pay per view you want and just don't ever return your box or access card.

You will be charged the $45 for the box but all the free pay per view you can handle. Good luck.

Directv in San Diego, California - Wouldn't Honor Promotional $39.99 rate for New Customers after signing agreement.

$39.99 /mo Ya, Right!!! During our recent relocation I saw an advertisement for Direct TV. The ad was offering a, 1 year, discounted, PLUS DVR, bundle package for $39.99 a month. The discount was enough for me to give them a try, WHAT A MISTAKE!!. When setting up service the representative lets me know that the first bill will be a bit higher because of prorating and assures me that I would be receiving the $39.99 promotional rate. During this call I am informed on everything except that I need to go online to submit a rebate in order to receive this promotion. My first bill is for $62.99, I call Direct TV and they assure me that I will see my credit on my next bill and still nothing about going on line for my credit. Next bill $62.99 again!! I call again, then and only then do they tell me that I needed to submit the rebate, which I had 60days to submit and now it was 62 days (I was out of luck). I then ask to speak to a supervisor; I am then transferred around to several more CS Reps until I reach Sean the Floor Supervisor. He is very rude, belittling and interrupts me at any given chance. I am then informed, "There will be nothing changed on my bill and that there is anything I can do about it". That there was no reason for us to speak any further, nothing will be changed. He goes on to inform me that it is not their responsibility to inform their customers on information that they should already know. How exactly was I to know this, it wasn't posted ANYWHERE on their advertisement, it wasn't disclosed by their representative when calling and questioned the bill, just to be expecting the credit. He was very clear that I signed a 24 mo. Agreement and would have to buy out my contract if I cancelled, my account was what it was and that they would not honor the advertised price. Also, to let me know again that there was no reason to carry on our conversation. I regret ever leaving Dish network.

Ripped-off by DIRECTV

I subscribed to DIRECTV on a special $29.99 per month for 12-months, and 6 months at the regular rate. My bills do not reflect the agreed on price and DIRECTV says, "Sorry, you didn't apply for your rebate in time so you lose." This is fraudulent advertising and really a despicable business practice. The so-called "Customer Service" representatives were condescending, aloof and overall smart-alacks. DIRECTV is a BAD NEWS company unless you want to deal with crooked, uncaring and unscrupulous people. Although I told them over and over that it was THEIR offer, they refuse to budge and insist on charging me $70.65 instead of $29.99 as was agreed.

Directv in Chesapeake, Virginia - Direct TV Fradulent Billing Practices

This is to inform anyone who uses their credit/debit card to help someone get Direct TV. I used my card to help my daughter get Direct TV for her new apartment back in October. I was told that I would only be charged the $20 fee and nothing else. Well on February 28th my account was debited for $184.11 without my knowledge or consent. I am now fighting tooth and nail to get my money back. I was told that this is what they do, they will charge any card they have on file for an account whether you are a customer or not. So please be aware before using your card with these people.

Directv in Atlanta, Georgia - Direct TV UNSCRUPULOUS

Had a 1 yr commitment Jan 08 to Jan 09 4 months in 1 of the 5 receivers went bad (of course only 90 warranty $$) service was terrible and delayed but we did finally get the replacement (at our cost) Was disappointed with cost of service (double what they singed us up for), the deliberately confusing billing practice and the constant charging of our credit card for movies. We cancelled after the year. This is where the fun starts we returned our receivers and then received 2 billings (525.00) for movies we allegedly watched 8-13 months ago. They claim every box was to be hooked to a phone line and that if it wasn't you could still order movies and they had no way of charging SOOOOO beware you will be hit when you turn the boxes in...We have no way to dispute "the direct TV claims" we certainly don't recall if we watched a movie on a date last year... And the real kicker is they also hit us with a early termination fee of ($340) remember the out of warranty box...well the replacement allowed them to extend the commitment 2 yrs.. if that is not ***...of course they have nothing signed by us to allow this, they say its all on their website and we are bound by it...this must be illegal to so blatantly take advantage of people. I for see this company being involved in a class action lawsuit whereby they will be making settlements to all past customers (I will be one!!!) for their business practices....(WE can only hope they survive in business to make these paybacks!!!)
